An old-fashioned burger joint like no other! It's a flashback of the fifty's once you step inside Johnny Rockets! Maybe it's the music or the waiters that boogie to some of the best songs from that era.

Their milkshakes are yumms...I ordered their butterfinger milkshake, which comes in a nice, old-fashion glass and the rest came in a cup(half filled)...To tame the beast in my stomach, I had a smoke-house burger and some chili-cheese fries topped with onions...whoooa, what a LARGE portion! I could finish half the burger and maybe 3 pieces of fries after downing the milkshake. Luckily, I had company who devoured the rest of my food :-)).

The highlight of the evening, aside from company and food, was watching the waiters get down! I sang along with them, I clapped and even belted out a few tunes...offbeat ofcourse, but I DID NOT care! I was jammin' along ;-). As I was about to get up and boogie with the waiters, my company threatend to abandond me in the restaurant, and make me walk home....I was forced to maintain control :-).

This Johnny Rockets is located in the Atlas Park Mall.

Now, I normally love Johnny Rockets. Their burgers and chili cheese fries are awesome.

But I hate this location. I've been here twice and the wait was very, very long. Service is slow, and the waiters aren't friendly.

If you're in the mood for Johnny Rockets, go to the one in Forest Hills.

LOUSIEST Johnny Rockets I've run across. Ordered wings, burgers, and dessert. Dessert came first (warm brownie with ice cream) and server pushed us into taking it, "Well its already done!" despite not having any appetizer/entree yet. She replies after much pushing, "Fine, I'll put it in the freezer, but the brownie will be frozen too later, so don't complain." Wings are $8 for 7 but we were given six and they are microscopic! Asked for extra bacon in the burger, but of course it wasn't there. Asked for one soda refill, never got it. We felt so defeated and just literally wanted to get out of there we did not dare complain and lengthen our torture.

And yes, our brownie came back frozen.

Greasy, greasy, greasy burgers and fries served hot and quick.  The portions are a good size.  I had a single burger with some special sauce.  Very good!  The chicken fingers were crispy and well seasoned.  They lose one star because it definitely could have been more tidy!

Horrible, horrible place. I've always remembered the sweet memories of Johnny Rocket's from my childhood, so I was thrilled to find this place right by my place. But oh boy was it disappointing!

We sat at the bar, and they took about 10 minutes to come say hello and give us the menu. And after we chose what we wanted, another 10 minutes for them to come take our order. Then came the fries that were cold and nasty.

We waited for about 20 minutes until they started cooking our order. Because we were sitting at the bar, we could see the burger guy grilling the meat. He finished our burgers, and we were just right in front of him, knowing that those are our burgers. But the waitress was gone to other tables for like another 10 minutes, so our burgers were just sitting outside, getting cold, right before our eyes though we could not physically reach them. The guy who was grilling the patties could see that we were getting frustrated, but he wasn't serving it to us because I guess that's out of his duty.

We finally get the burgers, and by then, it is so cold and nasty. I wanted to complain, but I stopped myself because I just didn't even want to deal with pretty much EVERYTHING gone wrong. However, my husband noticed that they put mayo in his burger when he asked for no mayo, and then I finally had to get someone's attention. They remade our burgers and brought us new fries (more like refried fries, probably), but to put all my held back frustrations in vein, the burgers just did not taste good to begin with. Cold, hot, mayo, no mayo, it didn't matter because it was going to taste bad anyway.

So this pretty much ruined all my darling memories of Johnny Rockets from my childhood..... And I'm never going back again, at least this location for sure.

Johnny Rockets is supposed to be all about atmosphere, but this location is totally uninviting. Went here before a movie w/ my boyfriend & the food tasted fine, but the place was a dump. The garbage can was just a pale w/ no cover and was overflowing with garbage. There were also a lot of obvious repairs needed on the walls and tables, plus the staff was really short handed. The line was out the door, yet only 15% of the restaurant was filled. Dare I mention there was no singing or dancing lol. Thank God this place closed!

We went on a Tuesday at noon so the place was empty.  I had an original Burger which was juicy but the onion rings had a really hard coating which scraped the roof of my mouth.  Not sure if I was supposed to soften it first with the accompanying ranch dressing.  My son had the kid's mini hot dogs which were like half hot dogs on small hot dog buns. He enjoyed them with his fries and strawberry milk shake.

The wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

Warning :  jukebox doesn't work!  After inserting nickel and waiting for song, server informed us they had to shut off machines because they didn't have rights to use of the songs.

I used to love this place when it first opened.  I recently went back and when I checked in on Yelp I noticed all of the bad reviews. Not my old fashioned burger joint, I thought but I was wrong. We waited for about 5 minutes before anyone came to seat us and this is with the restaurant empty. Finally a girl yelled a welcome to us from across the restaurant. We were seated and I had to go get my own kids menus where they only had 2 yellow crayons available and one broken one. Lucky I carry crayons or my kids would've been pains in the a*****. We sit and I can't help getting the feeling that everything is dirty, including the waiter. Table and menus were sticky, waiters uniform looked like it got spit up on and the baby seat was so ick that I sat my daughter at the booth w us. The fries always come out first (like an appetizer, wish theyd change that) but they were cold today. They tasted as if they were cooked or rather undercooked hours ago and left waiting for us. I didnt want to complain because we still didnt have our burgers and I didnt want an unhappy staff messing with our food.ow came the search for ketchup. All the other tables had so I decided to get up and get a bottle from another table. I got ketchup on me. At the next table the ketchup was empty, then the next sticky. I didnt find one bottle that wasnt gross. My waiter saw me wandering for a few minutes and finally asked if I needed something. Now come my kids chocolate milkshakes which are only filled 3/4 of the way and look like a big blob of vanilla ice cream sitting in a sea of chocolate milk. I had to mix it myself. Now come our burgers. The kids burgers were supposed to be minis but were really one patty cut into four miniscule pieces and shared between their plates. My burger had crispy bits burnt onto it and my bacon was undercooked considerably. It actually looked like they only grilled it on one side as the bacon was different colors on both sides. This was the last straw for me. I finally requested a manager who didnt know how to help me at all.  He actually offered to recook my food himself. Now why would I want this manager who cant control his staff and keep his restaurant and servers clean to cook my food. No thanks. I was already so upset that I had lost my appetitie. The manger took down my name and number but I doubt he'll be sending my complaints to his manager considering how many complaints I had about this dining experience. He told me the meal would be free and after that not a single server would look at us, at all. And it seems as though they dont do their songs anymore. The staff cant even show up with a clean uniform on and their greasy hair out of their faces so I guess Im not missing much if they dont perform. Thanks guys for the horrible service. I now see what everyone was complaining about on Yelp. Still dont understand how this place can go from being a great burger joint with nice service to the worst place I've ever eaten at in just a few short years. Next time I'll go to Five Guys.

This is your All-American 50's burger restaurant. This place serves a variety of burgers such as Route 66 and the Rocket Burger with special sauce (yum!). The fries can be served up plain, with cheese, or with chili. The fries are ok and the burgers are very juicy. I think the burgers are alright but if you go, try the Rocket Burger. The food is OK! The milkshakes are YUMMY! You should not, and I say should not leave Johnny Rockets without having the chocolate peanut butter shake (I love anything that's chocolate and peanut butter but this shake is GOOD!). It is sooooo yummy, you can taste that peanut butter well!

The service is also ok. Not too good but not too bad.

The last couple of times I went, there wasn't much of a wait.

The prices are decent. $7 average for a burger, another $3-$4 for fries. ehhh.

If you are a parent and want to have lunch with your kids outdoors, its a good place to go. It's a old classic 50's burger vibe but with a kids menu's. The kids will love it. If you are a 13 year old hanging out with your friends at the movies right next door or near the area, hit the spot up for lunch.

I went to Johnny Rockets only once, and from reading all the reviews, apparently it was my lucky day. The staff is great, the food came rather quick and those guys can even dance. In overall, I loved everything about this place, even my friend enjoyed it a lot. Maybe I'll come back again.

The food here is pretty damn good.  Very greasy, but yummy as hell.

Be aware though that the burgers do not come with fries, you need to order them separately :(

The food is cooked to order and they have a very delicious bbq sauce that I love.

Don't get too excited when a song from the juke boxes come on because the waiters/waitresses start singing and dancing (and they are not very good at it lol)

    Four stars!

    A nice American restaurant!
This place looks just like 70's which I accidentally loved.
I ordered Rocket Single but the waitress got me Rocket Double(Double cheese burger w/ fries).
It was a nice piece of food! The patty was so good and juicy!
Shakes are also good and actually too much!
The waitress gave me a glass cup of Chocolate-banana shake and another steel cup of it.(which is the rest of what she poured into the glass cup.)
And I think every 30 minutes, waitresses dance in the hall! It didn't look that fun at the moment, but if at night with beer, it would be a different story.! :)

Okay so I been to this place about 4 times or something like that. It's just okay. I LOVE the 50s, but something about this place is still not enough of a "50s" feel for me. First of all, from time to time, the servers dance to the song "R E S P E C T" by Aretha Franklin and that song was in the 60s so maybe it's trying to be a 60s diner?! IDK. I really give it 3 stars because I love the St. Louis burger. What I don't like about the way they serve food is that you have to buy fries/onion rings separately! They charge you separately for that too. You're supposed to eat it together!

Nice retro decor but damn crappy service/food. Ordered the miniature sized double cheesburger which wasn't bad. Had gotten a side of fries and onion rings both were undercooked and nasty. Place seems to hire straight out of college fraternitys and sororities.

I came here a few weeks ago.  I should have left as soon as I walked in. Unfortunately, I didn't listen to my gut and stayed.  At first, they sat us at a dirty table.  I promptly told the waitress and she said she'll come back to clean it.  With a few small pieces of paper napkins, the waitress started wiping the table.  I had to let her know that she missed a few spots.  The waitress forgets to bring us utensils.  I guess I wouldn't really need a fork for a burger but I had loaded cheesy fries.  It took forever for me to try to flag her down.  I don't care how busy you are, you should check on your patrons at least once or twice.  Getting a refill on water was impossible so we just asked for the check, which took another 20 minutes.  Good thing we had enough cash, otherwise we would have had to wait another hour just to get change.  The food was nothing spectacular and was a bit on the salty side.  If they are going to make you wait, at least make it worth your while.
