Ah yes, surprise surprise, I'm writing another review for shoes.
I love shoes, I absolutely adore shoes and I strongly believe it's important to invest in your footwear.
As such I often pop my head into the Fluevog store just to see what's there. I found a pair of boots I really liked but wasn't totally sold. I walked away and spend the week thinking about them when I decided to go back in. However, I started to look around more.
Well boy am I ever glad I did. I ended up finding a GREAT pair of boots. The woman who helped me was AMAZING. She was really honest about what looked good and what didn't, she worked really hard to find me shoes that went with my style and while we were trying on a mountain of shoes John's wife came by and helped as well. It was so lovely to chat shoes with her.
The space, as some other yelpers have noticed, is really amazing. They've built the building into the space between two, its big and bright and beautiful.
I love Fluevog, I did before I bought my new shoes and I do now. -

I've always loved their Angel sole shoes. I've always loved the funky design and their quality and the fact that it symbolized Shoe's for Vancouver.
We went to the sample sale, got there a bit later, after dinner and there was no lineup. That's because all the goodies in the right sizes were gone.
It was still nice to have a looksie and drool about what I'll want to get next.
I'll have to save a few extra pennies though for a Tokyo pair that I want, but would rarely every wear. :(
Have to get the Frontier Danielson!! -

I recently purchased the cutest ankle cowboy boots (on SALE from 350 to 99 bucks) at this location. I haven't worn 'vogs since my early twenties, finding their shoes a bit chunky for my taste, but the styles they have currently will make a convert outta any shoe junkie.
Quality aside, this five star review completely belongs to Andrea, the sales associate with the mostest. She sold me on these shoes in such a casual, friendly and low pressure way that I just had to have them - but I felt like an honest friend was helping me out rather than a smarmy salesgal working for commission.
She went out of her way to put these booties on hold for me and remembered my name the next day went I went in to pick them up. Her level of professionalism made me say "WOW" and instantly recommend some Fluevogs to the boyfriend.
So even if you think Fluevogs aren't your style - head in and check them out anyway. The service, quality and interesting location make it worth your time and money!Listed in: My Very Favourites

Awesome store. The design offices are upstairs, where new shoes are born! John HIMSELF works here! I even saw him leaving work the day I was there. I'd heard all about the Gastown store and wanted to buy a pair of 'vogs while I was in town.
My husband remarked on how cool a space it was, made of the negative space between two old buildings, but encased in glass so it's full of light. The sales people are so friendly and great. They even gave me a "No, YOU'RE WEIRD!" sticker to take home :)
I figured this place would have a better selection of shoes than the local Seattle store I usually go to drool, and it was true. There were so many varieties that I couldn't decide on one! I finally settled on a pair of Operetta Viardots, since all the pairs I have thus far have the same heel design and I was looking for something a bit different. -

John Fluevog loves you, but you will never be this cool.
The Gastown Fluevog shop is a gorgeous space filled with a wet dream full of shoes. I've never been any sort of shoe fetishist, but Fluevogs are my secret guilty pleasure - I have strange feet that are very difficult to fit, yet I can always find a pair of Fluevogs that fit me like a dream and feel like walking on brilliant leather clouds.
Fluevogs are a luxury item to be sure, but they're the perfect Vancouver souvenir if you're visiting. If you're lucky enough to live in a city with your own Fluevog store, check it out and be surprised. The designs aren't for everyone, but those who love their 'vogs are converts for life.
Also, John himself is a gracious and lovely man who can be frequently seen in the Gastown store designing more awesome.Listed in: In My Shoes

John Fluevog's is a landmark designer in Vancouver. His store on Granville is a permanent fixture of the street, and the recent inclusion of an impressive Gastown location confirms his permanence.
He may be one of the most successful designers in the city, personally creating some of the most hideous shoes my eyes have ever borne witness.
Okay, fine, it's not my style. I do own many pairs of dressier shoes for events, and I can't fathom wearing this stuff.
The last pair of men's shoes I saw in the window looked like something a keebler elf would wear, now I know Christmas is approaching, but it seems to early for theme costumes.
This place clearly is popular and women seem to flock to the fashions. They're just not for me, it's worth taking a look and deciding for yourself. They've been around this long for a reason. -

This store is just awesome. It is kind of a glass cube surrounded by brick buildings on both sides. Although it looks different than what you would expect in Gastown, it seems to fit in.
The location is wonderful, the shoes are beautifully displayed and the shoes are mostly breathtaking.
Owning a pair of Fluevog's is a sort of luxury I love to have. Although most of them tend to be designed more extreme, you can also find your regular fit in a fashionable way.
I guess Madonna is the best reputation for Fluevog shoes since she owns a pair herself.
Check out the store. Even if you're not interested in the shoes, this is delightful shopping. No crowds, ample space and a lot of natural light.Listed in: The best of Vancouver

awesome store, awesome style. I've been going to the Granville Street store since I was in high school and I'm proud that it's a part of Vancouver but the Gastown store is so beautiful and urban that I stop in often just to look at both the shoes and the architecture.

This is the most schizophrenic three stars so follow my thinking very closely. Fluevog shoes are fancy but generally look atrocious. That's my personal opinion, but I stick by it. I don't think I need to go into it, if you see a pair you'll immediately love or hate them, everyone does.
That said, this store is so cool. They could be making Ugg boots for all I care, it's so neat to come into a place and actually see how the goods are manufactured. This storefront is meant to be a kind of museum or factory for Fluevog and if you love seeing how stuff is made, you won't be disappointed coming here.
So yes, iffy shoes I make fun of, but if you're kind of interested in shoes/fashion at all you'll definitely want to check out the store. Just don't buy any if you dont want me mocking you from afar. -

I have been buying & following John for years... We are so lucky to have him and his shoe stores in our city... The floor staff are super friendly knowledgeable and will spend as much time as you need.
Psst btw these shoes are an investment and you can always resell them very easily on the net because the are so popular and hold their value.. I know from experience.
My recent purchase of Fluvogs are so well made and designed, I get asked all the time "are those Fluevog boots?". I can walk for hours and hours in these boots without any issues and be totally in style. I like them so much... that when I'm not wearing them, I rather leave them on the floor in display (out of the closet) so I can enjoy them .. -

There are no other shoes. Fluevogs are beautifully designed and well-made. They look good and last forever. And do I not feel the hometown pride wearing them, knowing that Fluevog was started in and is still based in Vancouver?
The new Gastown store is much more spacious than the Granville Street store. The shoes are displayed on great big tables that I can walk around and lovingly gaze at each little miracle of cobbling. The mezzanine level houses the creative and administrative staff of the company - the buzz of new shoes being created is palpable. (The actual manufacturing is done in Portugal and Mexico, but you know what I mean.)
Fluevogs are expensive, so I can't indulge the habit all the time. I am glad that the staff are understanding when I explain that "I'm just visiting today."
They also have good after-sales service - if you do wear out your Angel Soles, repairs can be arranged. -

I consider this Gastown landmark more of a museum or art gallery than a retail outlet. The shop is beautifully laid out, bright and airy. The shoes on display are like works of art -- and priced as such.
The staff is not pushy and always friendly. They are used to tourists and looky-loos who just come in to whiff the leather and gawk at the originality of the footwear on offer.
I would encourage anyone in the neighbourhood to drop in and experience this homegrown phenomenon, even if you can't afford the shoes or don't dig the style. Not everyone can leave a gallery with a piece of art, but you can appreciate the work! -

Ahh! Where is Rich Kid? Yes, granted, it's been years since I set food inside 65 Water Street so it was a little silly of me to expect that it hadn't gone through some kind of reincarnation since that seems to be the trend now, but still....
Anyway, John Fluevog has found a lovely home to house his designs. Everything about this place is artful and beautiful. Clean, spacious, it has that nice gritty industrial feel without seeming to undone. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, Gastown's cobblestoned charm lends a nice backdrop to this wonderful space. -

The new John Fluevog store on Water Street is stunning! Nevemind the shoes...the store itself is massive in design and very Vancouver. The impeccably designed shoes are show-cased on giant, raw wood tables, all the better to do show off their fabulousness! The men's and women's shoes are unfailingly unique and unapologetic in their off-beat and rad design. If you are looking for statement footwear, Fluevog is the place to be! The young fellow I spoke to was kind enough to compliment my jacket and gab with me about what a bugger it can be to find clothes that fit those of us with small shoulders, oh the injustice! It is a true sign of great service when I can chat with the sales people as friends would. Mmmm shoes!

Fluevogs make me drool. The Fluevog store in Gastown is the perfect place to do so. The store is spacious and the shoes are displayed in a way that encourages fondling the footwear. There are some sale items mixed in with the regular priced shoes, in case you need more incentive to inspect all the shoes.

The Gastown space is so VANCOUVER, Fluvog is so, well not really Vancouver more LA, but we love him anyway. Great space and shoes for the 20 somethings, what happened to the simple boots of yester year he always did to hold onto his clients? Gone Gone Gone, my niece bought 3 pairs of shoes, she knows style and quality when she sees it.

Fluevogs not being my favourite shoes, it might be unfair of me to review this store, as all they carry is Fluevogs! But, I will say that the store is airy and has a great aesthetic, and the vibe is funky and fun. So, if you are a fan of the chunky kind of cool that Fluevogs offer up, you'll be happy to walk into this shoe emporium.
