Oh Joey, you make me love you more each day...except for last night when we had a tiff with your TV issues.  BH has been cooped up home the last 3 weeks due to surgery and we thought we'd celebrate our first night out in weeks with a Canucks game/dinner at Joey's.  We've been there before and loved the huge screens and the atmosphere.  Unfortunately for us and everyone else there last night, their TVs weren't working...thanks a lot Shaw.  Even after breaking up with Shaw at home, we can't get rid of them completely.  It's like that jerk ex you see everywhere.

Anyhoo...back to Joey's.  Needless to say, we were more than a little disappointed.  What made up for that disappointment was:
    a) our very hot server who I'm now having lesbian fantasies about.  Normally it's 2/3 coverage and 1/3 cleavage but hers was the other way around.  BH was genuinely concerned about er, well we discussed at length how we'd both handle it should one accidentally pop out.  I was enthralled by how hot she was and already decided she was getting tipped.  Ah, life is easy for attractive people.
    AND
    b) the ever dashing GM of Joey's Coquitlam who proactively apologized to us profusely for this disappointment...who backed up that apology with gift cards for our next visit.

I was genuinely wowed by that level of customer service, which I so did not expect from a chain restaurant.  It's not the freebies that ensued which were really a token amount, but how he communicated a genuine concern for our dining experience that blew me away.  The GM invited us to text/phone/email him personally when we go back next time so we can be taken care of.  WOW.  All my years of going to Milestones where we've encountered problems before (raw chicken wings anyone?) and I've never felt this "served".

We won't be bothering you sir, but we will be back for sure.  You've officially made converts out of us.  But the TV better be working!

it's always nice to go to a popular restaurant and be greeted by a huge lot with free parking.  It's a nice respite from having to pay for parking in every nook and cranny of the Lower Mainland.

Walking into the restaurant, the hostess was ready to greet and seat me.  My friend had already made a reservation.  I was happy to know that this location too reservations.  The hostess took me to a very lush booth; I love booths!  It sat all four of us comfortably.

Soon, a waitress came by and took our drink orders.  The service was prompt and friendly.  We ordered the chilli chicken to start, which was much like sweet and sour chicken from a Western Chinese restaurant.  It was pretty darn good.  As mains, my friend ordered the lobster grilled cheese, chicken alfredo, lobster ravioli, and I had the ahi tuna club.  All of the mains were delicious, and everyone was very pleased and satisfied with what he or she ordered.  The only minor complaint I have is that it took a while between the appetizer and main, but otherwise, the experience was very good.

I will definitely go back.  There's a few things on the menu that I still want to try.

This is a nice place to have in this part of Coquitlam, where things aren't exactly hip. A place I can dress up a bit and go meet friends without having to drive across town.

The food and drinks are good, on par with any Brown's/Cactus Club/other trendy chain. Prices are a little high, but comparable to any of the above. For food, I especially enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Salad ($18).

I've been here five or six times and my experiences have been good EXCEPT when I went with a group of 8 for a friend's birthday. It was a weeknight and not especially busy, and yet they managed to screw up over and over again. Our reservation was held for 6 instead of 8, two of us got the wrong drinks, one was charged for double entrees, and we were promised a free dessert for the birthday girl, but found it on the bill. We politely pointed it out to the server and were basically told we were lying since they didn't do birthday desserts. Manager came over and interrogated us for several minutes about who had promised us the dessert, etc. Despite our offer to just pay for dessert and get on with our evening, she pressed the issue and awkwardly chastised the host (who mistakenly promised us a free dessert as it was only her first day, it turned out) right in front of us and several other tables. It was completely unprofessional!

I'd go back to Joey's for a simple drink or dinner, but wouldn't recommend it for a group gathering again.

The last review was in 2009? GOSH! PEOPLE.. Please don't forget that Joey's Coquitlam.. was the original of the famous growing Joey's chain! Known first as Joey's Tomatoe!!

Went there my first time during Highschool.. more than a few years ago... haha. It was considered a glamourous feat for one of us to have our birthday parties there, as it was smachy!

What has changed? The endless growing popularity! Now open in several locations including Bellevue WA.

Known for their good food, modern, hip environment, and their sexy waitresses in tight black attire. Food is moderately good. I love their shoe string fries with blue cheese! And they are famous for their Chocolate lava cake!! So don't skimp out on dessert! Service is great. Price is decent for the food, and is very comparable to Cactus Club.

I always enjoy coming into the Coquitlam one with non-booniers.. and said.. see.. this is where Joey's all started :)

I returned to Joey Tomato's the other night after finding them listed on a celiac Vancouver website as having a gluten free menu. I mean, that is something I have to check out.

Arriving early to avoid the dinner line, I was seated right away... and the Gluten Free menu was easily produced. Basically it was a listing of actual menu items that did not contain gluten or had been slightly modified to not have gluten (ex - omitting a side of naan, etc...)

I ordered up the Baby Barbeque Ribs, my boyfriend had the rotisserie chicken and ribs. When they arrived I was super stoked... huge heap of mashed potatos (I am Irish afterall), my half order of ribs was massive, with dill carrots on the side. All of it was so fantastic I continued stuffing my face until I was "ohmigod-I'm-actually-going-to-vomit" full. Boyfriend did the same :)

The service was so awesome - the server arrived at the exact perfect times and was so friendly and put with my my questioning.

And, for my anywhere I can go, have fantastic hip-sorta atmosphere and order like a normal person scores a five star in my book!

Last time I was here was about...... 8 years ago?  When they still had the tacky pickled veg jars (olives, banana peppers, jalapenos, etc), and it was called Joey's Tomato.  I think I had a birthday party there! lol  The food was pretty good back then, but now.. even better!  Well, with Chris Mills as the exec chef what do you expect?  Of course it's going to be good!

Joey's is probably one of my top preferred chain joints to frequent.  A little be out of the way for me, but this particular location got super comfy patio out back.  I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger w/ Yam fries... yum!!  Also, sitting outside in a lounge style patio sipping on bellinis on a hot day=awesomeness!!  Omg, I'm going to be there tomorrow now! haha

Before going here, I was tempted to write this place off as another Earls/Cactus Club/Milestones clone. It's a trendy restaurant with steaks and pasta on the menu, and a lot of good-looking people serving the food. But I was really, really impressed with the level of service at Joey's. At lot of places say they care about guests having a good time; these guys actually do go out of their way to ensure it.

My steak dinner was delicious, but my husband was a little disappointed because the pasta he ordered came covered with scallions. He had asked if onions came on the dish - he hates them - and the server said no, but I guess she forgot about scallions being onion-y. So, trying not to make a fuss, he quietly pushed the pasta aside to take home, and I shared bites of my steak with him. The server noticed about the pasta and inquired if there was anything she could do. He demurred, but the floor manager came by as well, and graciously offered to make up another dish for him at no charge. So they brought a chicken caesar-type salad, since that could be made quickly.

We were just blown away by the artful way the staff handled the whole situation - it really was outstanding service, and made all the difference to our evening out!

I don't always eat at chain 'high-end' restaurants (i.e. Milestones, Cactus Club, Sammy J. Peppers, Moxie's, Earl's, etc.), but when I do -- I prefer Joey's.  Stay Yelpy, my friends.

There's a lot to dislike about chain restaurants (bland selection, usually overpriced, servers hired for looks rather than abilities), but they have their strengths - ease, accessibility, variety and ample seating & parking.  Chose the Coquitlam location for a work 'reunion' dinner since it was the easiest place for everyone.  Tons of parking and the place is so big that we didn't need a reservation for a group of 10.

I think Joey has all the advantages but minimizes the pitfalls of your standard chain place - it's still pretty plastic but the menu had a good variety of tasty offerings.  With all the steak offerings, it felt like Joey's is a go-between from Keg (which I also like) and the other chain joints.  I've been to the Joey on Burrard a couple of times for drinks and always dug the daily drink specials - there's one everyday, the weekend specials are not as good but most other places blackout drink specials on the weekends.

Everyone really enjoyed their dish, all well-presented, and my fish tacos ($11) were pretty tasty and I was a bit surprised they had Black Tusk Ale on tap (a tad pricey at $7/pint but happy they had something beyond the usual).  The service was quick and attentive - server frequently checking on us and refilling our waters.  The bill was easily split for all of us and she had it correct - with no auto-gratuity stapled on for a large group.  The server even noticed that I was aimlessly wandering around the dining room when coming back after a cigarette and ran to me to point me back to my table amongst the huge dining room.

I would probably give Joey 3.5/5 stars but since it's probably my favourite chain place outside of maybe the Keg for steaks, I'll round up to 4 stars.

One of the better places in the Coquitlam area. We usually come to team lunches here. Nice place, especially if you have the time. Don't expect to order, eat and run, cause even that takes over an hour. Another thing, they don't take reservations here at lunch, so send a party, or a person here to get the table.

Other than that, the food is good. The menu has enough options, as I ordered an Ahi Tuna salad!

This place has the best steak ever. You have to try the peppercorn new york steak here. The sauce is simply irresistible and the steak can never be more well cooked. I like my steak done rare and believe it was rare and it was fantastic! I love the veggies that comes with this dish. It's a little far, but I love it. I tried the Vancouver location and it just isn't the same. The new location just hasn't mastered the way coquitlam makes it just yet.

I've been here for steak (might actually go there tonight now that i'm talking about it) so many times, i love it everytime. The service is wonderful, if you ever not like your dish, let your waiter/waitress know and the will credit your bill while you order something else. Best service around.  Lots of parking everynight and a great place for group parties or small groups too. Ambiance is very nice, always a great experience everytime I go.

The only bad thing is that they don't take reservations, but it's totally understandable, the place is great and its definitely worth the wait!

Difficult to find, the signage is in black and white and is called Joeys not Joey Tomatoes as one would first think! It is a building that is brick and set back from the road, entrance to the right! When u arrive through the door there is a great atmosphere for a Tuesday evening! Great menu and great service! Food is very well presented and tastes fresh!! Fun upbeat and good looking staff is the icing on the experience!! Keep up the good work!!!

pretty good venue to watch the game

been here a couple of times.. they have a lounge/bar area and a dining area.. they have one large screen.. their fault is that they need to close the blinds so the sun shine doesn't make it hard to see

very cute staff that are pretty helpful

few dishes are pretty good on the menu.. pesto shrimp flatbread.. chicken souvlaki in pita bread.. the lave cake.. a lot of the appies looked just OK, nothing special.. i'd say jump right into some of the entrees.. had an ahi tuna burger once which was pretty good.. pasta was so-so

    drinks are pretty standard.

one of the few good places to go around the lougheed mall area thats good all around so defo worth checking out if you're around

I like the fact that Joey's has a gluten free menu now but it's kind of expensive, although what I ordered turned out to be pretty good.  I think the two times before the last visit with other servers were probably better for me though.  The last time I came with some friends for a party. Anyways it was a large party and I had asked the waitress if the soup was gluten free, she disappeared for so long, came back and didn't even let me know that it was free of gluten until I had to call her again. Then she ordered the soup for me without even asking me if that's what I wanted to go with for sure, I was still deciding on what I wanted on the menu, when I got the soup I didn't even get a spoon with it.  I had to call her over again. I think her name was cady or something. The good thing was me and my friend put a rush on the rest of our orders and I'm surprised that turned out and we got the rest of our food pretty fast so that was good, and it wasn't all bad. I remember I used to love it when it was Joey's Tomatoes.
