A bit crowded on a hockey night, but there's nothing like a  JOEY Cosmo  of sour  lime,  cranberry and  orange in the Cointreau to ease the pain of not being able to see the big screen. Follow this up with a slushy concoction of vodka-like-slurpy-like drink and it is 'whoo hoo' time.

As starters, we tried the CHINATOWN LETTUCE WRAPS of toasted peanuts,
noodles & fresh cilantro. This is kind of like being in Seoul Korea, without Seoul, and without Soju. If you're allergic to peanuts, then this is not for you. The lettuce helped absorb the alcohol I've been imbibing. Then came the SZECHUAN EDAMAME of wok tossed with chilies, garlic & soy sauce. After a few more drinks, I really thought the waitress' dresses were getting shorter and shorter...I think it was just my field of vision being helped by the Vodka.

Thank god for food. I had the GRILLED LOIS LAKE SALMON of herbs, maple butter
sauce, crispy mashed potatoes &  vegies...I could swear the lunch version of this had rice instead of crispy mashed spuds...either way it was good, and I enjoyed our meals.

I like this restaurant because it is very lively, there's good food, and you always watch the games. There will be about 45 minutes wait on fridays; and it is a bit hard to find (it's on the 2nd floor) while driving on Lougheed. Park underground by Save 'On, and crawl back to your car.

I really didn't know where to put you... a 3.. a 4... but I'm going to say 3.5 compared to all the other Joey restaurants I have been to in the city. The former Shark Club, with the multilevel seating area, I was wondering what was here, and in this area you have all the big chains, from Earl's, Cactus, and Milestone's nearby, it's like 'chain alley' around this part of town, so why not a Joey's.

The one thing compared to all the other restaurants this place has going for itself is parking. If you've eaten at the competitors, this is by far one of the most important things. If there ain't parking, I'm thinking twice about going. They share the same building as the Save-On-Foods..... so rest assured your know that your car will have a space, and what I noticed is that they have a valet parking person here?

So, onto the restaurant, was sat on the main floor, this place is very good for groups, tons of big tables, and booths, and also a parking that everyone can drive here yourself and find parking, unlike the other nightmarish lots for restaurants along here! The washrooms are near the entrance on the bottom, which can be weird, depending on where your located, could be a good walk.

The menu is your standard Joey's, you been to one, you been to them all. On this night I had the Tuna sashimi salad, and a side of crispy mashed potato. The service was quick, with my water being filled every so often. Even shared part of the apple pie I ordered for dessert. Wasn't asked if I wanted another drink, kind of found that odd, as isn't this where you money is made? With big parties, they are good at splitting up the bill, even the apple pie I was sharing, I have to give them credit for that.

I think their website says 'premium' casual dining, well I must say that the premium is in the price. Depending on what you order, it can get heavy on the wallet, especially for one who use to work in this industry, if it wasn't for my former co-workers, I'd think twice, but it is obvious that the local economy supports this. For me, I just find it a tad on the expensive side for what it is.

I try to avoid "chain" restaurants, but sometimes when meeting up with my girlfriends to make everyone happy place's like Joey's seems to be  a good place.
Saturday Girls night, we came at around 8:00pm, 30 minutes wait for the dinning area and some open tables are the lounge.  So we opted to seat in the lounge, it was  louder but we expected it.  Its a pretty small location, it seems so much bigger but its not.
Our server seems to be really busy, we waited about 20 minutes to finally get our drinks.  Which was fine because the girls and I we're gossiping and catching up.  The drinks here are pretty good.  I had a blueberry mojito (recommended) by my girl friend, and it was great! but it was pricey 8.99 for a single ( I know I sound cheap),
We all spilt an appy Ahi Tuna taco, tasted great!!  but for 2 bites it was 3.00!
I had the Original burger 13.00.  The food at Joey's are generally good, service is OK, a little slow at times but it was Saturday and we opted for the lounge.  Overall it was ok.

We had the beef dip and the lobster grilled cheese.  We shared and we both enjoyed them immensley.  Will return for sure.  Andrea was a great server!!!  Nice decor and servers were very sharp looking in the all black outfits.  The beef dip had a crusty french loaf and the roast beef, plenty with grilled onions and horseradish on the side wth a bowl of au jus that was very flavourful.  The grilled cheese with lobster....what can I say, it was my first time but definitely not my last time.  My coffee was refilled with a new cup and was strong and delicious.

I recently came here with my parents for lunch and to be honest i didn't really have a close look of the menu. I ordered a caesar and an Ahi Tuna Club sandwich. The most important part, being the tuna, was cooked perfectly. It was lightly seared and raw through the majority. They had also put some special relish that really made the sandwich feel very spring/summer like. It was sweet but not overly sweet, so this is a warning if you don't enjoy a sweet entree.

The service was good as well as the decor in the restaurant. In terms of pricing, it's pretty average for a chain restaurant and I would probably come back.

Great spot to stop in for a few drinks and watch the game.....

However, kind of loud if you're just trying to sit in for dinner.  I could barely hear my gf talking to me across the table or maybe I'm just starting to get old and deafening in one ear.

I much prefer this place more than your typical chain resto around Vancouver.  Food is good, decor is very modern, and valet parking is free here!!!!!  Lol I can show up in my beater car and still feel like a king!!!

The few times I've been to Joey's, I've always enjoyed my meals here.  After all, it is Chris Mills that designed their menu.

I got the Hi-Rise Burger and book does it look massive.  Not bad patty, but what makes it soooo massive is the excess of crisp lettuce in the burger.  I guess it's the only way I'll consume my veggies :)

Ribs were tasty.  Very tender, juicy, and came with an awesome buttermilk coleslaw!  MMmmmMMmmMMmmm.

I came for a lunch with co-workers on a surprisingly nice September afternoon.  Their burgers are quite tasty, as are their fries. The rooftop/patio area is quite nice when it's sunny out.  Service is a little slow though. And my coworkers and I got quite the giggle when the hostess would say, "Thank you for coming!" every time we would go downstairs to use the restroom.  Mojitos were also a little too sweet for my liking.

Overall, it's a decent place to come to for a meal in Burnaby.  Better than the Shark Club that used to be here.

Quick fact: Any chain restaurant that gets a 3-star rating from me is very good.

I come here for a few reasons.

    1.  It's the same price as Cactus club but the food and drinks are better.
    2.  The help is just as beautiful but COMPETENT
    3.  It's open late
    4.  Free parking

That is all, I will continue to come here unless the Brown's opening in the same building turns out to be better.

Because this Joey's is out of the way, it seems to be a bit quieter than other locations (unless you hang out in the bar). Service here is usually quick and friendly. My only complaint would be the booths that they sit you in, which make it a bit difficult to hold a conversation with everyone that came in your group. Next time I think I would request a table. Also, you have to go downstairs to use the washroom, which can be a bit of a pain. The food and drinks are always good though, and I suppose that is what is most important.

Went to Joey's for a work event. The upstairs patio on a sunny day? It's the perfect way to end a long work week and catch some of the game before you head home.

The ambiance is typical for the resto/lounge scene; dark woods, saucy servers, and decent food & drinks. The Hi-Rise bacon-cheddar burger was great! Nice thick patty and how can you go wrong with bacon? Since we were upstairs, we just got drinks at the bar and the line wasn't too bad.

I'll come back again to try out their regular lunch fare and if your company is looking for a place to host a party, I highly recommend Joey's in Burnaby!

I went here with Tabatha Anne Y and a coworker of hers for lunch on Friday to feed a craving for fake chicken.

We waited a few minutes to be seated even though there was plenty of seats and we can reserved online prior to going, but no biggy. This location is brand new and quite nice with some very unique light fixtures and plastic deer busts.

The service was slow as hell, or so it seems on a Friday at lunch time when most people probably only have 1 hour to eat and get back to their offices.

We ordered up chicken burgers with their soy chicken, they screwed up the one with substitutions for the vegan with us but corrected the issue pretty quickly.

It was alright, I would go back for the fake chicken but otherwise it wasn't much to write home about.

    Bull-Dog Pit Pub =  nope
    Shark Club = nope
    Joey's = YUP!

I love the new Joeys here!! It is one of my favourite places that I will be going from now on. But the only thing is that the Social Brown House is right across the street... NOT FAIR! Making me chose between the two best places for American Food Chain in Vancouver.... DISLIKE.

The decor was lovely. I enjoy antlers and anything that reference the whole "down to earth" scene which is very much in trend for the 2010-2011 period. The good thing is that Joeys doesn't come off a "Catus Club" vibe for me, and it makes the place a lot more exquisite and a lot more trendy!

I love the atmosphere of the establishment because of the service. The waitress, host and the valet was extremely nice and very helpful in all sorts of ways. The waitress was very attentive, and the valet guy was hot, so he gets bonus points ;) and the hostess was nice, she put the person on the phone to wait and then seated me. Their patio is one of the best I have ever seen. There is an over head if it rains or snows, and the fireplace just tops it off so it is perfect for all seasons. I enjoy their couches as they are leather and feel amazing on my toush.

I had the Crab Cheese Melt sandwich and it was just to my taste. Savory, sweet and creamy... and yes it melted in my mouth too, especially the bread. I finished off with a lava cake and it was amazing. Only thing that it looks exactually like the one I would buy at Beard Papa, and the desert menu is SOOO small, they have to expand that menu!!

    Best Joey's I've been to.

Just came back from lunch at Joey's and I have to say I was impressed.  This is my second visit and I'm writing this review now because I want to make sure the 2 visits are accurate to their service, food and cleanliness.

    Food:
I had the fish tacos and the edamame beans.  The fish tacos come on a dish with 3 soft tacos filled with fish, guacamole, lettuce, sauce and cilantro is optional.  It was the right temperature, -hot but not burning my mouth.  The ingredients were fresh and cooked perfectly.  Hot sauce and lime are on the side.  Very tasty!

Edamame was with Sichuan sauce.  It wasn't spicy though and it gave the edamame a very enjoyable and different taste.

The waitress was great.  She was friendly and made conversation with our table.  She came back with extra napkins when I didn't even have to ask.  Filled our glasses of water twice.  I tried to flag her down for the bill and she was super busy.  Usually waitresses would come by and as if I needed something, but she just knew and brought the bill.  Very intuitive and on the ball.

I had a great experience with this Joey's location, but I can't say the same about the others.  I will now only go to this one.

Was here for a friend's last-day-of-work going away dinner that happened to land on the same night as a Canucks away game.  The restaurant was full capacity but nothing that might be unexpected for a popular restaurant.
There were a few service issues that seemed to be an issue:
Trying to get a server's attention to order food
Trying to get a server's attention to order drinks
Having to deal with a shift change at 7:30 in the evening and clarifying orders with outgoing server
Having to correct a bill after it came back wrong... twice

The fries with the burger were very salty, and they barely give you enough ketchup to last for all the fries..

With all this you would think I would rate this lower, but the managers did seem interested in seeing if we were happy, and did give our group a round of shots when it seemed like there were some issues.  At another time I also was at a company party upstairs in the new lounge and they treated us VERY well so I was surprised things went they way they did here.

A solid spot in Burnaby to stop by for drinks with friends on Thursday evenings - always a good crowd and great servers!

Plus, my favourite Joey Signature drink, the 'Super Nova' (best flavours: apple and raspberry) is on special on Thursdays ($6.99 - 2 oz).

This restaurant recently opened and had caught the attention of me with its location. Situated in the core of Brentwood area, Joey restaurant can be seen with an orange sign that is tied between two trees.

When my bf and I walked in, there was a lady that stood by the door to greet us. She guided us to the stairs that led to the restaurant. There was this chandlier at the front that look like it was from the show Addam's Family. We were seated in a booth that was too big for just the two of us; nonetheless, it was spacious and comfy. There were heaters right by the windows which kept us warm. And with the thought of heaters knew that it would be nice to have dinner on a cold winter day.

I ordered the baby back ribs that were braised in spicy honey barbeque sauce, with fries & buttermilk dill coleslaw while my bf ordered the rotisserie chicken & rib combo with fries and vegetables. When the meal came, both of our ribs tasted delicious. They were really tender and the meat just slid right off the bone. My fries were a little too salty and were cold whereas my bf had hot and less salty fries (and of course, I ended up stealing his!). Cold, way too salty fries are a big minus! My coleslaw wasn't anything significant - I've had better. My bf and I thought his chicken was a tad dry. Having chewed the chicken meat many times in hopes to get some sort of flavoring (which failed), I thought it was no different than going to Safeway and buying a cooked rotisserie chicken off the counter. Overall, it was the ribs that topped off the dinner at Joey.

I have to say the interior is very nice especially the entrance with the light and all. Friend and I sat in the lounge, and the server was very friendly and prompt. We shared lobster grilled cheese with skinny fries, popcorn chickens, and seafood pasta. Grilled cheese was very cheessy.. It was alright. The pasta is also average. The popcorn chicken is your typical popcorn chicken with sweet thai sauce.
However it is the service that blows my mind! - we ordered chocolate lava cake. Long story short, it took three tries to have our lava cake because it kept cracking when it comes out of the oven! Each time either a manager or the chef came to apologize and with a complimentary dessert while we wait. So the waiting was not bad at all, it was more entertaining - In the end we all laughed about it, and ended the night with finishing the grand chocolate lava cake. 4 stars for service and 3 for food~

I was very excited to see one of my favourite restaurants opening up nearby. The restaurant is connected to Madison Centre and has an entrance through the mall as well as from the parkade.

The decor is like most of the other Joey's with dark brown seats and overall dim lighting. The place is two floors, with the main floor for the dining area and the upper level as the lounge I guess.

I came here with my boyfriend for dinner around 8 PM and waited about 5 minutes before we were taken to our seats. One thing that confused us was why didn't the hostess ask if we wanted to be seated in the lounge or dining area because we had to waste our time walking upstairs only for me to tell her that we didn't want to be seated in the lounge (and technically we shouldn't be in the lounge).

The seats were large and comfy and I really liked the vibe in the place as well as the look of it. I ordered the chicken and he had the California club sandwich. Both were good, however his fries were a bit too salty as Joey's fries usually are.

This location is probably better from groups since most of the booths are quite large and fit at least 4+ people.

Met two colleagues here for lunch as the location was close to one's office.  The parking is all underground and terrible. We were coming from downtown and came in the back door of the parkade. I later found out that if you come in the other entry they have free valet AND will vacuum your car out while you dine.  The decor is the standard Cactus/Joeys/Milestones/Earls designer moderné on crack but this one was pulling it off like Ted in red cowboy boots.  I walked in the door and was greeted by such a sea of black n' tan (bronzed waitresses in lil' black dresses) that I immediately felt like a Guiness.  We asked for dining room but some how ended up in the bar. The view of Lougheed highway and skytrain was something too look at while we ate but the music was pretty loud for a business lunch. Speaking of lunch, it barely felt it, the place was hopping with 630 pm Friday energy and this was 1230 on a weds.

Our server was friendly and attentive, she hadn't drank tooooo much of the cactus/ earls kool-aid; that smarmy sweet service sans substance.  She was right on top of keeping our drinks topped up.  The food was typical- good but not great. I had the lobster grilled cheese and fries.  While thin cut fries are good in theory, the downside being with all that exposed surface area they get cold very fast and the fat content goes up- but I guess one ordering fries shouldn't be worrying about the latter.  Going into this with a particular expectation (it's a Joeycactusearlssammyjmilestones) it was 5 star, down a star for the crap parkade and mixup on seating. I'll be back next time I'm in Burnaby and my car needs cleaning.

I don't normally eat or drink at establishments such as this. By that statement I mean cookie cutter restaurant chains.  However, I somehow ended up here twice this week. Once for a colleagues going away luncheon and once for after work drinks. Overall I felt that neither the drinks or food lived up to the price tag attached. I did really like the decor and the waitresses were very nice.  Although I wish they had a more diverse staff working here. You know so I didn't feel like they were just hiring young hot female servers to attract male customers and get better tips. Seriously real waitresses don't wear high heals.
