*This reviews their drinks and atmosphere only!*

    1. Watching the Canucks win on NINE huge screens in Vancouver: MAJOR WIN!
    2. The above with $2.99 drink specials: EVEN MORE WIN!
    3. The above being extremely tasty: WINNER OF ALL WINS!

Try their 1oz Super Nova Vodka Soda for $2.99 during Happy Hours - so extremely yums. You will wonder how you drank plain vodka sodas for $6 before this.

    Atmosphere - 5/5
Service - 4/5 (Apparently the servers are hired as "models" so they can choose based on appearance???)

Expected an average chain restaurant experience, nothing outstanding and unique but good enough, and this completely dissapointed. We were seated after waiting 10 minutes on a Saturday night, had never eaten at a Joey's before but kinda thought because they had valet the food might be a bit more exciting...nope. We waited 15 minutes for a hello, or a smile, even a wave would have sufficed from any of their Cactus Club hot waitress counterparts. They just kept on walking by us...it's too easy to make a joke so I'll let it be.

I had to flag down a man wearing a management-y dress shirt to take our order, and he was incredibly apologetic like any good management personnel, nice and sweet, took our order asap, so no problems there. He is why I have given 2 stars.

We ordered the grilled cheese lobster sandwich and the shrimp lettuce wraps.

Lobster Sandwich: Glorified grilled cheese...was there even any lobster? Doubtful. A very good grilled cheese but that's it, much too over priced, dissapointing.

Shrimp Lettuce Wraps: Dude, where's the shrimp? It was a bowl of fried crunchy chow mein noodles, no veg with probably 6-8 miniscule shrimp, about the size of my thumbnail. I totally expected succulent juicy grilled prawns and some kind of mixed chopped veg fry up...I managed to pick out all the baby shrimps and voila I was done and still hungry.

All in all, I hate feeling like I got ripped off when I could've spent my money at one of the many amazing unique restaurants in Vancouver...average food for people who enjoy being avereage. Sorry Joey!

Joey is of those places where yes, it's a chain, and yes, the food is overpriced, but the ambience somewhat justifies the higher cost.  I think they provide the best value when compared with Milestones, Cactus Club, and Earls.

Parking is available along the side streets (usually Hemlock), but if you want to pay $5, they also have a Valet lot.

The inside is covered with lots of dark wood and glass.  Everything is dimly lit, and the seats are mostly comfy.  They really do present well here.  Having a few thousand dollars' worth of liquor on the walls (on a glowing shelf, no less) would definitely appeal to some.

I had a chance to try their Spicy Chicken. The pieces were a little bit on the dry side, but the sauce was delicious.  Again, their presentation is stunning.  The price for this dish, not so much.

This is a good place to go to impress your group for sure, if you don't mind spending a few bucks.

This rating probably more due to the seating where our group sat--facing the entrance so I had a fabulous bird's eye view of who's who coming in ;) though I do find it's a great warm place to come here more for appies and drinks, and admire the 2nd level kitchen floor situated above ground level!

Just ordered the chilli chicken, nothing spectacular, nice bite-sized boneless chicken, w/ unnecessary long, green onions, over some deep friend large petal-shaped chips.  Probably not worth the $10.99.

Like i said, it's more of a place to be seen, than the food.

Great place to chill/drink with friends in a trendy environment. A winner for upscale presentation: venue, food and servers.

One of our good friends treated us out for a night of fun and entertainment last night. Starting with the Game at Joeys, we enjoyed some delicious drinks (my favourite, Super Nova Apple), some cheeseburger sliders (sweet honey flavours that work), chili chicken, sushi cones (healthy, plain). I had the Beach Salad too - chicken was dry, but the candied pecans and strawberries made it all the merrier. Nothing stood out per se (ie. food or service), but we had an awesome time.

I organized a professional event here for 10+ people a while back and they were very helpful and accommodating (especially when it came to our big, confusing bill). Service was friendly and fast. The appetizers are good and decently priced (you can share the yummy flatbreads, for instance, and pay around $5 each) and there is always a good drink special. My favourite here is the Super Stoked Vodka Coke (cherry or vanilla).

Joey is quickly becoming one of my favourite chain restaurants. They seem to be improving while a lot of the other chains are just getting worse. But like most chains, the experience varies by location.

One perk about this Joey location - they have valet parking for $5, which is significantly cheaper than most other parking options in the neighbourhood.

Great little eatery I was taken to in Vancouver by a great friend. we took in this place, before heading off to the Vancouver Canucks game. Service was great and the lady seemed helpful and happy. A added bonus to get good service on a busy night like St. Paddy's day. Thanks for the great time, and the next time I am in town I will be back.

Always consistent service and food and friendly staff.

Many people forget about the patio upstairs. It's in the shade, but it's nice to go in the evening when there isn't any sun. And since it's upstairs you don't notice the Broadway "traffic" as much.

I wish that they offered a better white wine selection by the glass. They rave about their wines, but it's no fun if your friend is drinking beer. $50 for my fave wine is not really worth it for just one glass. :)

Still, a nice, neighbourhood option with our remaining days of sunshine.

Loud bar at lunch with multiple TV options to keep you busy at lunch.

All local business folks eating and chatting away.
We dug into the fish tacos, gluten free beach salad and the miso ramen. All was really good. The fish/shrimp tacos come with a "really Mexican sause" that tastes very similar to Tapito. Who cares? The spice was much needed.

    I will return.

I love this place! I have been for dinner twice now and was happy with EVERY detail.
First off, I like the buzz, it was Friday night on both occasions and the atmosphere was really good; it was evident that everyone was relaxed and having a good time.
For appies, the Szechuan Edamame was AMAZING. Probably the best appie I've had in a long time. I had the beef dip, which was just right, a perfect blend of flavors. I also had mushroom soup on the side which was sooooo good, not too thick, my idea of the ultimate comfort food. I thought the drinks were really reasonably-priced, the Mojito was a tad on the sweet side but I definitely felt a kick!
I also love the decor, the ladies' washroom was literally breath-taking, really out of the normal box for chain restaurants.
Overall, I will most certainly be returning!

Well, I had never been to a Joeys before, so this was my virgin attempt. We sat outside on the rooftop deck. It is shaded from the sun, but you get all the fresh air. Very nice ambiance. The food was excellent...fish tacos it was for me. My husband had a steak. Also very good. The food prep and service on our orders were mishandled and they were kind enough to comp our whole meal, along with an apology from the manager. Very well handled, and our meal and drinks (once it arrived) were all awesome. Oh...and the vacuumed our car. It was spotless. Did I mention I have a German Shepherd dog?

I used to go to the Joey's in south Edmonton and always had a good time, so I was excited to learn that Joey's is also in Vancouver.  I've gone twice since I moved to Vancouver and I've really enjoyed myself.

I recommend sitting on the rooftop patio.  It's very large, and I've been able to find a nice table both times I've gone there.  The patio is enclosed, but you still get a wonderful view of the mountains.

My favorite items to order off of the menu are the Killer Ahi Tuna Tacos and the Chinatown Lettuce Wraps.  They're both amazing, and every time I go to a Joey's location the quality is always the same.  The Caesar Salad is also pretty good.  I decided to spend the extra $2.99 for a piece of Garlic Toast with my starter caesar salad, and it was a very large piece which I was pleasantly surprised about.

I'm a huge fan of their alcoholic drinks.  They offer a wide assortment of cocktails including bellini's and martini's.  My absolute favorite drink is the Super Stoked Vodka Coke with vanilla vodka.  I also enjoy their beer selection.

If you like your waiters and waitresses to be attractive, this is the place to go.  All of the waitresses I've seen there are pretty.  This isn't a huge factor for me, but I know it is for others.

I take away a star for this review because some of the prices are a bit high.  I do enjoy going to Joey's and will definitely be back in the future for more super stoked vodka coke's on the patio.

I usually go to the downtown Joey Burrard

We came to the Broadway location to escape the crowds in downtown for the Canada Day celebrations.

Food quality actually didn't impress me as much as the downtown location. For appies Szechuan Edamame was just as they promised, not too spicy and oh so good and Warm Crab & Goat Cheese Dip was also delicious, but far too many chips for not much dip. The Bombay Butter Chicken is usually one of my Joeys favourites, but this time I found the rice to be clumpy and dry, not a lot of tiny chunks of chicken swimming in an abundance of sauce (come on, a little more meat for the price please).

They do seem to have a knack for hiring beautiful looking people. I don't think they deserve any bonus points for that hiring practice (a reason I avoid the Keg)

I love the large, comfortable outdoor patio, which is where we sat, but really was unimpressed with the service. After helping select the perfect bottle of wine, she forgot that we had ordered wine. Dirty plates from appies were piling up on the table when our meals arrived, which could have been removed prior to bringing our meals. They just didn't seem attentive, although there were an awful lot of staff gathered around the bar.

Valet parking is a bit hard to find, but at $5.00 is a better deal than the parking lot under Chapters across the street.

IF the service was good, and the food consistent here, this would be a stellar location. As it is right now, it's OK, but I won't be a regular.

This is my go-to chain restaurant. Consistently good. Everything here is always a strong 7-8 out of 10 across the board (sometimes the service gets up to the 9 level). It's never spectacular, but it's never bad. And ultimately, that's exactly what you are looking for when you eat at a upscale casual chain restaurant, am I right?

The mushroom soup, the fish tacos, the lettuce wraps, the california chicken club, the lobster ravioli. All solid go to dishes that hit the spot. Not to mention a solid beer and wine list at a good price, so it's good for drinks too. The atmosphere is classy and they only have attractive people working the floor. I know that might sound a bit rude, but it's a tried and true business practice in these types or places for a reason... it works.

On another note, we have a 10 month old baby and this is a great place to come with her. There's no water park or swing set or anything, but they've got the best high chairs in the city (that's a point I never thought I'd notice, let alone write, a year ago) and the staff are always welcoming and helpful and friendly. So you can have a nice dinner out with the family without being banished to Ihop or chucky cheese.

All around a solid place. Good value. Can't go wrong in a pinch.

A good layout of urban decor with high ceilings, bookcases of wine and a modern source for lighting, Joey on Broadway is spacious and sophisticated.  It offers you an awesome menu of drinks, cocktails, martinis and delicious dishes.  A great date spot and/or an evening out with your friends.  The Ahi Tuna Club is amazing!

Be sure to check out the covered and heated patio for that fresh air atmosphere, the large dining area for a more sophisticated dining style or the lounge to watch the game, indulge in one of the many beers on tap and sit amongst your favourite people in one of their many booths.

Among your continental choices for South Granville, Joey on Broadway is the best bet.  Eat your heart out Cactus Club and Earl's!

P.S.: I only gave this place 4 stars because our server was a tad on the slow side.

Really? Butter chicken for more than the world-class Indian restaurant 3 blocks away sells it for?

Guinness on tap for more than the Irish Heather, who pour the best pint of it west of Toronto, sells it for?

Everything Joey's sells, other people sell for less, and with more authenticity. This is the kind of joint you go to when you want all 9 people in your party to get something they want to eat.

But if there's two of you, why the hell would you go here?

I mean, seriously. It's a nice-looking chain, it's carrying all the same "fusion" attempts that every other chain sells, but, in the end, they're overpriced and a little too self-important about it.

Not impressed, man. Get out there and experience real restaurants who excel in their cuisine choice, not these places trying to act like global purveyors of substandard interpretations of ethnic foods.

If the beer was CHEAPER, perhaps, but... no.

    You can do better, Vancouver.

Ever since the first time I stepped into Joey, I immediately decided that I liked the place.

The decor is dark with low lights yet at the same time bright enough. I love the colour and design of the seats as well as the layout of the restaurant, especially the case full of liquor bottles. I think it's quite unique since I haven't seen it elsewhere in Vancouver.

The service has always been good to me, just today I went for dinner with my boyfriend and they were quite busy but even still the waitress had enough time to stop by and ask us about our meals and what not. The floor manager (I don't know what else to call him) also stopped by our table for some light conversation as well.

We ordered the ahi tuna tacos, the rotisserie chicken and the butter chicken. The tuna was really good, however I didn't enjoy the coleslaw or whatever that came with it. I had the chicken and it was very succulent and juicy while my bf had the butter chicken which he very much enjoyed.

Overall I like the place and have already returned a few times now.

Joey Broadway was a dinner decision made on a whim. We went here for a quick dinner and a drink before meeting up for the night's activities.

The ambiance is very much like Cactus Club, Earls, etc. A certain someone we were with thoroughly enjoyed a certain waitress' uniform (tight, black dress), hahaha.

My dirty martini was unimpressive. The martini glass was literally less than half full and was accompanied by ONE olive. Geeze, I'm not driving... what gives?! I seriously thought they spilled half of my drink before bringing it over to our table. On a brighter note, my lobster raviolis were yummy and the portion was huge!! I'm used to only getting about 5 raviolis when ordering that particular entree, and when a full plate came out, it kinda made up for the mysterious, missing martini.

Best Garlic Bread.. so yummy! I think every time I have ever gone to Joey's I have ordered the garlic wedge.  I can not comment too much on entree's but the appetizers are quite good. I'm a fan of the lettuce wraps and the chili chicken but do miss the fact that the ginger beef is no longer on the menu.

All and all Joey's is good place for sharing appy's.

Been going there more frequently for drinks after group meetings and have really enjoyed it.

Good eats are the Ahi Tuna taco, fish tacos, yam fries and shared the Viva salad which was yummy.

Service is good, decor is spacious, Free wi-fi is a plus and I love the high ceilings.  There are stairs in the washroom so be careful not to hurt yourself if you plan to drink a lot, lol.   On another note, prices here are a bit higher so not sure how much you would want to spend on drinks.

There may be better choices for intimate dinners and small group.  I would recommend Joey's as a great place for a huge group and for a place that opens late.  Also fun place to hang out to watch the game.  Go Canucks Go!!  :)  :)  :)

I'm a snob, I hate chain restaurants but it was a long weekend today and I wanted pasta and my choices were limited.

I've been to this Joey's quite a few times for drinks as it is close to my work place and they have a beautiful patio.

I had the lobster ravioli and my partner had some sort of a salad.

My ravioli was meh.  I liked that they gave me the option of changing it to a rose sauce as I don't really enjoy creamy sauces.  I didn't really taste any lobster, the pasta quality was not good and some were falling apart.  A tad overcooked?  My dining partner complained that it was fishy.  I was ok with it, wasn't really expecting anything spectacular.

His salad was very fresh tasting.  Bright leafy greens, good amount of dressing but holy lack of toppings.  There was ONE strawberry cut up and if you dug hard enough there was also avocado, goat cheese and candied pecans.

The servers were really friendly and helpful, the space is great, it's just too bad the food quite lacking.

Oh wells, it's a chain restaurant, can't expect too much, probably won't be back...

I was really happy with my experience at Joey Restaurant. I've been eating vegan for a few months now and eating out can be a real challenge. They didn't have much on their menu for me. So I settled for for my usual, yam fries. Our server came back and told me she got the chef to "make me whatever I like". So I altered one of their rice dishes a bit and had a nice meal. Very impressive / nice!

Ok so I am willing to give anything and second chance, and I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out.

Went for diner here the other night with some people, and explained my woes about the last time I had visited this joint, but was assured that it would not happen again.  I ordered the Mile high burger with cheese and mushrooms, washed down with a crisp cool Granville Island lager.

Ok ok .. the burger was good and the service totally made up for the way I was treated last time, and as the wise words of the Dixie Chicks states " Forgive, sounds good.  Forget, I'm not sure I could".... so dramatic I know!

Its too bad that a place with higher expectations would just fail like this.

Came here for lunch with my sister, brother in law and 2 nieces.

service was very minimal...maybe they think lunch hour people dont need to be served attentively?
i had the beach salad..which was actually pretty good.
the lobster ravioli and tuna tacos were ordered too...and they were mediocre.
lobster ravioli was so doused with sauce that it was too overpowering..the lobster ravioli just got lost. blech.
i asked about the tuna tacos but the unenthusiastic response from my sister deterred me from trying it.

one good thing? the high chair given to my little niece was awesome!

I like it upstairs outside now we have a bit of summer and the fish tacos are getting bigger and better. The wine list is deeper, the wait staff are ah younger, that's the nice way to put it.

This place is excellent for meeting friends for dinner & drinks, watching a sports game or just chilling. Although the valet is convenient, I prefer to take a $5 taxi from home for a guilt free night. For sports or music, I prefer the bar area. With friends or after dinner drinks, I prefer the upstairs roof top deck, which is heated & covered. Just east of Granville on Broadway, some may remember this place as Kits Pub. This intersection is also close to Cactus Club (similar but different), Browns Social House (for MMA), Bin 942/Go Fish (wine), West (voted Vancouver's #1 bar/bartender), Suika (Japanese tapa bar) among others. This place is easy for friends who live or work close to Broadway or Granville.

Came here to meet up with some friends for some appetizers and drinks and this time around was blown away by how much farther they took the service.

The whole head set thing always struck me as a bit hokey, but if it means more efficiency I'm all for it.

Where it stood out was with our server who was super patient and helpful in assisting with modifying a dish to be vegatarian friendly for one of my friends. Dishes were brought out by a plethora of other servers and it felt like all attention was spent on us.  When the vegetarian dish came out incorrectly we were pleasantly surprised to discover at the end of the meal that the dish was removed from the bill.

The main waitress informed us the server that brought it to us in the first place removed it from the bill. Now that's teamwork in service!

I can't help but come to for a few after dinner drinks with a few friends and order their apple pie.....OMG! I forgot hot good this apple indulgence was! It was definitely the best dessert here!

The crust was soo flaky and warm where the perfectly cooked apples and nuts were nestled on...to top it off...a scoop of either vanilla or maple syrup ice cream (I chose maple). WOW! HEAVEN!

I also had their mini fish tacos as an appetizer a few months back and thought it was very good as well :)

I liked that they have dishes from all over the world.

The men's bathroom is supposed to be hilarious with pictures on the walls with girls and rulers....the girls bathroom was nice but I didn't like the fact you had to walk upstairs.

Joeys keeps up with the other chains by having hottie wait-staff deliver dependable meals in a hip atmosphere. Last time I was at this location, it must have been near rent-day, because it seemed that all the female servers were just about to fall out of their low-cut tops. I actually did an "oh dear" when one girl bent over to wipe a table -- wardrobe malfunction was written all over that move. But she managed to keep them in her shirt ... barely.

This might be a big plus for some diners, but I felt a bit embarrassed on her behalf. But she was a friendly, efficient server and the meal was delivered smoothly.

I had an Ahi Tuna Salad ($15.99) with avocado and mango finished with cilantro and ginger vinaigrette. All the flavours went well together, it was adequately dressed (unlike the wait staff) and the tuna was rare and tender. I can't say it was super original or a "must have" by any means, but it was a filling meal.

I hady birthday here for one year and I must say that the service is amazing. I've been to several joeys and all of them have been fantastic.

I made the reservations directly with the manager and he told me what to expect with making reservations with a large party. When I arrived, my server said the same thing which makes me think that they have great communication between each other.

I had a server who hand an impecable memory and was very patient with the large party I had. The food was good although I found that their special drinks can use some work on. I had a martini that was waaaay too sour.

Overall, my experience with them have been great.

Service: Not too bad especially when we were there for a playoff game.

Ambiance: Can't really tell you as we are there mainly for the game. Lots of fans were cheering at the same time. There are a lot of TVs.

Menu: Wide selection just like other Joey's

Food: Didn't have much. Beer tastes great.

Value: Reasonable prices for what's on tap.

Joey is trying to break into a group of customers from a higher tax bracket than they usually have. They're off to a decent start. They added valet parking and now host the Vancouver Canucks tweetup events. The place isn't bad. I have been twice.

Crowded. They are popular. I recommend reservations. Especially if they're hosting a tweetup. The place will be ridiculously packed.

Service: Well, I loved my waitresses both times I've been. The second time we had Taimi. She was amazing. Great personality and always nearby, even when really busy.

Management: The night manager screwed up our table and couldn't even be bothered to tell me the truth. I later discovered the lie. This is why they only got 3 stars instead of 4. I think his name was Todd.

Food: Excellent! I highly recommend the lobster grilled cheese if you're in the mood for something new. Very very tasty!

Overall: If you haven't been, then please go. They've got good food and great waitresses. Valet parking is a nice addition. Not impressed with management, but I'll likely go back for the cocktails. :)

Joeys is extremely consistent. A nice restaurant, a nice atmosphere, nice servers, nice food.

It's just lacks any particular WOW that would take it to the next level.

Similar to Earls etc., this chain restaurant (although, it is a local chain so bonus points for that) is definitely on the rotation when we want the standard fare and want to be sure we don't have a bad experience. Now, we don't expect a phenomenal one either, but it's a good mindless lunch on the (really nice) patio option.

They have a few dishes that have the wow factor - one they've foolishly removed from the menu in the last year or so, but I had the baja fish tacos this week and they were FANTASTIC. Certainly not your taco-stand traditional tacos, but a great delicious twist that I will definitely be back for, which was a nice surprise!
