Came again today for the 4th time in 5 weeks... Yes, they are that good! We usually come on Sundays but he doesn't make chicken Donairs on Sundays so we popped in today, on Saturday, to specifically try his most favorite creation!
He offers is up with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, olives, onions and your choice of a homemade garlic sauce (mayo based) and a homemade tzatziki (heavy on the fresh dill).
Bill, the owner, advised that the chicken Donair is his most favorite creation on his menu.
We opted for the tzatziki chicken Donair and my hubby devoured it! I'm not a big fan of dill so I'd probably opt for the Donair sweet sauce (usually served with beef Donairs).
We also had my favorite today, a cheese & beef Donair! I call it "meat heaven" which makes my husband laugh because I was a vegetarian when we met!
Everything here is delicious - if you haven't been to Joe's, do yourself a favor & bookmark this shop! The food is fresh, filling, & never greasy!
As a side note, both hubby and I have never had a pita this good anywhere! His Pitas are so freaking fluffy and warm. His Donairs are given just the right amount if sauce (if you LOVE your Donair to drown in sauce, be sure to ask for extra).
We love Joe's Famous Donairs!!!
