Great spot to grab a beer before a game or event. Great drink specials.

So we went to Jimmy's and it's very close to our place. Their prices are quite expensive but that's because they chill their alcohol and is in a prime space. The thing that pissed me off was their service. I was returning my bottles there but they told us that it was full so we'll have to bring it on another day. I was okay with that. But 2 minutes later, another regular customer came in to the store and returned their bottles, and they allowed it. What's up with this treatment? Every time I walk by Jimmy's, I get angry.

I came here for a casual meeting with some colleagues. It was after work and the place was half full when we ordered. The menu was simple and straightforward. All the items paired well with cold beer and wine!
The dinner was okay, but nothing spectacular to run home about. The best part was the relaxed atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and it was a pleasant way to unwind from a day of work. The people ranged from business to casual and I enjoyed the laid back conversations.
However, there was nothing unique about this place. It was like any other restaurant that served decent food with good service. Although I have nothing to complain about, it was so common that I am already starting to forget it...... -

Definitely the best located place for me, and for others who live inconveniently between the Yaletown and W Hastings govt. liquor shops.
It's a tiny little place, but they pack a good selection inside. A few Mexican beers (no Dos Equis!) are always a win for me. The wine selection is set up by region- you've got a fair amount of Australian, Californian, Canadian, and the others...
I love that this place is a few steps away from Marketplace. After I pick up something to make for dinner, I can easily swing in to grab a complimentary beverage. -

I defaulted to this place once when all the neighbouring government-run ones were closed. As Mercedes G previously noted, the priced were much steeper than BC Liquor Stores. But beggars can't be choosers so we forked out the added $7 for gin and paid nearly $40 for the Tanqueray.
One good thing, though, is that they were having a special on Captain Morgan's, which bode well with my companion's pirate costumer (it was Halloween). -

Obviously more expensive than the BCL but great staff and good selection keep me coming back

Situated relatively close to my abode, Jimmy's is my regular beer and wine of choice. They have a decent amount of stock, good beers, a great selection of wines and spirits for such a tiny space...all at noticabley high prices. What's a girl to do when no government liquor stores reside close by? Head to Jimmy's and suck it up. The staff is very knowledgable and always up for a laugh, making it easier to ignore the inevitable price tag.
