My husband and I had Jimbay's on the brain for a full week before driving all the way out for our anniversary only to discover that this wonderful business has closed.
There seems to be another restaurant in its stead, but I don't know (yet) if it is owned by the same family and the menu is the same (it doesn't seem to be) or if it's changed hands entirely. We were able to browse the menu posted outside the restaurant briefly, but it didn't have the Japanese main course items we were hoping for and was instead mostly sushi. Not that sushi is bad, because it isn't, but Jimbay's was exceptional because it was a traditional Japanese restaurant that had great sushi, not just another sushi restaurant. You took your shoes off and dined at a table on the tatami mat floor and were able to enjoy traditional main courses in a quiet atmosphere.
I updated the local business info here on Yelp, but I wanted to add an updated review because their website is still up and I don't want people to be confused. Or do what the Mr. and I did, which is drive an hour only to find it's not actually there anymore.
