Review from Melissa E.

I haven't been in to Jett Grrl for awhile but I have to say, when I did, it was always a great experience.
I first contacted Tracy several years ago asking her if she sold second hand road bikes. She always replied to my emails promptly and with tons of info.
I told her I had limited funds and what I was looking for and she put forth 2 options, both solid bikes (sweet Bianchi frames with newer parts). I decided on the bright fire engine red Bianchi and was on my way. One thing I really appreciated was that she gave me a full year warrantee in case anything didn't work properly.
LOVE the bike. Still have her. Still love her.
I also signed up for a bike maintenance class which was great and not too expensive. Everyone should know how to change a flat (although admittedly at this point, it's been a while so I'm not sure how effective I would be) and this course offered tons of great tips and basics we should all know.
My most recent contact with Tracy was re. a slow leak in one of my tired, shot her an email and once again she offered a few suggestions. It never did improve so it will have to head in for a spring tune up. But the fact that she responded with suggestions was impressive (i.e., didn't immediately suggest I bring it in).
She's totally approachable, will give you as little or as much info as you ask for and could not be less intimidating. In a town where bike shops are often filled with know-it-all douchebags, it is SO appreciated!Listed in: All aboard!!!

as a follow-up, since my recent review, tracy contacted me almost immediately to discuss my experience at her shop in detail. in short, i still really like tracy and think that she is a good person, and still believe that my experience is likely not the norm for most jett grrl clientele.
she has offered to try and rectify the matter and has been both courteous and professional in her handling of my review, which obviously was not a fantastic one. nobody is perfect, everybody makes mistakes, and even wayne gretzky plays a lousy game now and again.
bad experiences do occur occasionally in good establishments, as i suspect was the case with me, but what stands out at this point is not the fact that my experience was less-than-ideal, so much as the manner in which tracy has chosen to handle it.
given that i have many years of riding ahead of me, and in light of tracy's approach towards addressing the matter, i will be going back to jett grrl the next time i need work done to give it another chance, as building a relationship with a person like tracy who clearly approaches her work with the degree of caring and consideration as she has demonstrated merits nothing less.Listed in: shop

After years of disappointing service from other shops, I've settled on Jett Grrl Bike Studio. The work is fast, honest, & of the highest quality. The atmosphere is intimidation-free, funky yet professional. Catering to art-statement & fast bikes alike.
Yes, she lets guys in too, I'm one of them. -

I've never been there, but I did email Jett Grrl about an issue with my bike. I quickly identify some possible issues and mentioned that she did not specialize on type of bike, and suggested I go to another specific bike shop for them to first look at it.
It was extremely professional and I appreciated the honesty. Another bike shop would have just told me to bring it in for a tune up and charged me $60 and probably wouldn't fix my problem. For all my biking questions I plan on going to Jett Grrl. -

This Grrl Bike shop doors are open for both boys and Grrls .... I like supporting small local biz, and feel like I get that friendliness when I come here for service... The owner does all the work single handedly and is good at it.... And knows her stuff..

Great location and easy-going, down-to-earth, friendly service. Commuted to work one morning and got a flat tire. Amazingly, there are not a lot of bike shops in that area. They got some funky, artistic gear (ie. wooden bike accessories) and a decent selection of bikes. It definitely has a community feel with biking tips and posters of bike-related events happening around the city. Their hours are a little limiting since it is a one-person shop but I am happy to say, Jett Grrl Bike Studio is my DTES bike shop of choice.
