I go here all the time.
Jerry, his son and two daughters are all hair stylists / barbers so this is definitely a family business. Very cheap, quick, they'll talk if you want or just cut if you'd prefer the quiet.

Listen. Go here. Jerry has been in biz in the area for decades. His son and two daughters have followed him into the trade and work alongside him at this clean, relaxed, and spacious locale. I have been going here for 7 years and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes, and I have never had a bad haircut. The prices are as reasonable as you can get for the type of place it is, and kids are welcome. Also, whoever is doing your hair is sensitive to your mood and won't blather on endlessly if you feel like some quiet time, and, conversely, will be more than happy to chat up a storm about anything and everything if that's how you are feeling. This is important, to me anyway! Consistent quality, value, and courteous service make Jerry's THE place to go for a trim in Mount Pleasant!!!
Two caveats: As already posted, bring cash, as he is still in the Dark Ages when it comes to Point of Sale payment methods...ie no debit and no credit! Also, be forewarned that he is usually closed Mondays, as he says he just doesn't get the traffic to justify opening up the shop on that day. But these are small quibbles, so be sure and avail yourselves of the Jerry's European Hair Experience!!!!! -

The boys and I love Jerry's. A friendly atmosphere, soccer on the TV and a good, efficient haircut at a good price. Handy for a cup of coffee at Gene afterwards, too!
It is cash only, though. I've had to leave the boys there as collateral twice now, thankfully without any lasting damage to the shop. The closest ATM I've found is at the wrong end of the Kingsgate Mall, so make sure you cash up before you go. -

When I moved to Vancouver from Chicago, I left my cutters behind.
I'd taken the plunge about a year ago to cutting my own hair; I decided I liked the shape of my head, my hair was turning gray anyway, and with the #2, #3, and #4 blade I could keep my hair short and looking alright.
Being here nearly two months now, I was look pretty rough. No cutters meant hair out of control. I found a sublet near Kingsgate Mall, and this placed popped up on Yelp.
I not only expected disappointment, but I expected something like $30 out of my pocket FOR disappointment.
Instead I got a nice quick $13 haircut from a nice European guy who didn't talk much and I walked out of this place feeling infinitely better about my life.
I might even go back, instead of buying clippers. -

So got my hair cut yesterday at Jerrys. Checked out the mostly positive reviews previous and I was not disappointed. Friendly service and a quality cut for a good price.My barber really took his time (a good thing). I work in the area so I will go back, definitely.
