Best delivery in the Downtown area. Typically, I only order delivery and my rating is based upon a full large pizza. The single slices aren't too shabby but I would probably take 'em down a star.

NYPD is my movie night dinner selection with the GF. We get a large pizza with artichoke and a side of ranch.

The girls answering the phones are always extremely nice. They are helpful from beginning to end and the delivery guys are friendly as well.

1 star = Terrible. Multiple things went wrong. Never going back.
2 star = Not good. I will not go back, but it wasnt absolutely awful.
3 star = Good, not great. I wouldnt go out of my way, but I *would* go back.
4 star = Excellent food. I really liked it. I could be a regular here.
5 star = Phenomenal food. Something truly special here.

I am in town for a conference and staying at the Hyatt. I asked the cab driver about good pizza, and he suggested JC's. Front desk guy agreed. Yelpers were 50/50 on this place, but since it was the only place that delivered to the hotel, I decided to give it a shot.

I really didnt want to leave the hotel room, but this place is much closer than I thought and, in hindsight, I would have made the 3 minute walk rather than use the delivery service on a Friday night. Not my finest moment of planning.

So, obviously, the delivery took longer than quoted -- after about an hour I realized that this is what I should have expected. A couple things -- there is a $17 minimum for delivery. Sigh. And, they only make one size pie -- 18 inches -- so I opted for the spaghetti and meatballs, an order of cheese garlic bread, and a slice of cheese cake (twist my arm to get to that 17$ limit!). I really wanted to try the pie, but an 18 incher is a bit too much, even for me (keep your mind out of the gutter, people).

The meatballs are absolutely horrible. I worked at a place in Scottsdale, AZ that had THE BOMB meatballs (Frankies), and the place in my hometown that we always ordered from (Florentines, in Grand Rapids, MI) also has excellent MBs. I know meatballs. These are not the meatballs youre Italian grandma used to make. Also, the spag had almost no sauce on it. Luckily, the garlic break came with a generous helping of sauce on the side, which I promptly poured on top of the spag. Once I threw the MBs away, the spag, sauce and bread made a yummy meal. I liked the sauce quite a lot, and the bread was buttery and cheesy.

The cheese cake was decent, but nothing special. More like pudding than the pleasant dryness of a really good CC.

Overall, if you dont want to go out and if you want spag, go for it but just dont count on liking the meatballs.

Spot on delicious pizza. Only true complaints are them running out of basil and instead of a box they gave us foil. Got the little italy, no basil, but got the green chili in place. It was great! Also try the local new mexican beer on tap.

Best thin crust downtown. The 2 slices and a beer or soda deal is good. Nice patio too.

This place has gone downhill fast since it changed it's name from Al's NYPD...a total shame.

This pizza used to be the best in town and very different from the chains. I was also happy because I was close enough to receive delivery from here as well. The crust used to be this amazing sort of thinnish (not too much dough) sour dough-like thing. I have no idea how to describe it except amazing. The marinara and sauce were always exceptional as well.

So now the bad part. A friend of mine called to pick up a pizza and received HORRIBLE service. I was there and the first time she called they put her on hold for 10 MINUTES...so long that it switched to their voicemail. wtf She called back because we really wanted *this* pizza, not something else. Sure, maybe they forgot if they were getting a lot of calls- it happens. She called again and the same thing happened. Really?! Ten minute hold times are just unacceptable- your pizza isn't that exceptional. We gave up and ordered a thin crust from Dominos and were just as happy.

So, my fiance had ordered from JC's a couple of time since then. There is something totally off about their pizza now. The crust isn't the same and the flavors aren't the same. There's really nothing special about it anymore.

I was in a bind recently and wanted to give JC's the benefit of the doubt and give them one last try since I had been disappointed not only in their service but also the pizza. I called and was expected to be placed on hold but  was greeted with a "Hi, hold." It was literally a second. I waited for who knows how long on hold until I finally hung up and chose somewhere else.

That was the last call or order I will ever make to JC's. I understand when places get busy but forgetting about your customers on the line is not ok and the pizza is not as great as it used to be. Trust me, the Domino's thin crust is pretty darn good, you can order online, and you get it fast. Screw JC's.

not sure about the albuquerque location.....this review is for the las vegas new mexico location on bridge street.  it's great to see a trendy restaurant in that town!  very hip, sports bar atmosphere.  modern and clean with a small patio in the back for warmer weather.  pizza is thin crust and delicious.  wings were above average and service was good.  i'll definitely go back.  kid friendly during the day/lunch.

This place is a good place to start or end your night. Big slices of pizza and pretty cheap. If you are getting a whole pie, better have 4 or 5 friends to help you finish it. This place stays open pretty late which is perfect for after the bars. Can also be a life saver if you drank too much and want to avoid the hangover.

Solid spot but wouldn;t drive out of the way to get here.

Stumbled into this pizza joint during my most recent visit to Albuquerque - it's located downtown right on Central Ave and has a prominent neon sign. Pizza is sold here either by the slice or as a whole pie, there's also a selection of calzones. We mostly ordered a variety of calzones with water or sodas. The crust tasted very authentic to me and the ingredients did indeed remind me of eating same in New York (there's a certain flavor to the sausage/pepperoni in particular that is unique to New York) - I think they have this down. There were only two things that seemed off to me so I've adjusted my rating down by one star:

    1. First time I've ever been served a calzone with sauce in the pocket un-asked for. I've worked in a lot of restaurants, including a rather prominent Italian restaurant in Atlanta and I've never been served a calzone that had sauce inside - it's usually served on the side (which in this case you got both). Don't get me wrong, it was tasty but odd to me. Maybe it's a regional thing? Is this normal for Albuquerque? Just be aware that if you order a calzone, there will be sauce, even if it's not listed that way on the menu (all 4 calzones that we received had red sauce in the pocket).

    2. Our order was really messed up - we originally ordered two of one calzone, plus two others. We ended up with 4 different calzones including one we hadn't ordered (meatball - I ended up with it and liked it quite a bit). Besides adding a lot of confusion to our table it seems we ended up with another table's calzone, which delayed our being served for some time. Since we were all starved we ate what we got. As mentioned before the flavors were all good so we just went with it - just be aware to double check what you're getting.

I'd gladly give this place another try - my sister-in-law who lives in Albuquerque liked the food quite a lot and mentioned that she's adding it as a regular stop.

Was pretty good pizza. We were in a bit of a hurry and didn't really want a whole pizza, lucky for us they sold slices and had a meal combo deal as well. We ordered our pizza and also some wings. The wings of corase took a little longer but the pizza was already made and we gobbled that down. It was a nice place for a quick bite.
My only complaint were the FLIES buzzing around me the whole time and we did eat inside.

This was my first meal in Albuquerque and I must say, it was a bitter disappointment.

We were feeding people that were helping us move - a party of 5. The bill was $58. Really? For pizza? Here is the breakdown:
2 pizzas, cheese only = $16, chile and pineapple (do not ask) = $19.50
    5 liter bottles of soda = $15
    cheese bread = around $6

I guess it would not have been too pricey if the pizza had actually tasted good. I prefer thick crust but I have enjoyed thin crust in the past. This thin crust, however, tasted like the box. There was also something off about the seasoning. The cheese bread had the same off taste.

Oh, and the real irritation . . . $3 a bottle for soda. You can buy it in the market for $1. I understand the need for a markup, this is a business after all, but I found this excessive.

The end result is, stay away from JC's NYPD. It is not even close to being worth the price.

JC's is your standard pizza, but better because it's not a chain. They get two thumbs way up from our group for delivering to Marble Brewery down the street.

Don't expect anything spectacular about the place, but I found the pizza pretty good. A nice, soft but perfectly crispy crust was all that mattered after a few beers. It's worth a try if you're looking for a bite to eat!

I love trying out cuisine that I'm particularly accustomed to (pizza, cheesesteaks, Chinese food) in different parts of the country, to see what they consider is "good."  So, being from the NY area, I know what a good pizza tastes like.

This place calls itself NY Pizza.  I can honestly say that it doesn't taste like NY pizza.  But that doesn't mean it is terrible.  It was decent.  Unlike Florida pizza (terrible), the tomato and cheese weren't horrible, and the pizza tasted like pizza and not a cardboard box.  Also, the crust was actually good (although it was nothing like NY pizza crust).

It's right in downtown Albuquerque, in a good location, on Central Ave (where all the nightlife is).  I'm not saying Albuquerque is one of my fav cities (it isn't, I found it to be as bad as Buffalo), but if you're here, this may not be the worst place to go to.

It's not "as good as it gets" but I'm feeling quite generous after spending about a half hour trying to find a pizza joint that isn't Papa John's, Domino's or Little Caesars that would deliver to the SW area.  So a big Hallelujah!  to JC's New York Pizza Dept.  (Also, I was so food deprived I shorted the driver a little bit on the tip - so an extra star for guilt.)

I'll get the negative out of the way first: it's a bit pricey.

Now to the positive: it's pretty damn delicious.  The pepperoni, the mushroom, the green chile -- all superb.  Excellent sauce to cheese ratio, ingredients were fresh and even the crust was far better than average with a great crispy/chewy combo going on.  I was hoping for a little bit more generosity with the green chile but that's a minor complaint.

The delivery was quick and friendly and so the pizza was still piping hot; always a plus.  In Boston this pizza would be king.  In ABQ, I'm guessing it's a bishop or a knight.  Still, for my corner over here in the SW area it's one helluva great pie and indeed, it likely is "as good as it gets" for delivery.  Thank you JC, you made my Friday night.

Ok, this is the real deal. I'm from NYC, and JCs knows their pizza. The cheese they use is the best kind for pizza, not like what they use in dominoes or pizza hut or other chains use. Fresh ingredients. A lot of them. They can make extra thin crust if you request it, and are always professional. This is a step above the rest. Try it, it's worth it.

Right off Central in downtown Albuquerque, JC's offers a great outdoor patio and also some pretty good pizza. The pie's are huge, and come in a wide variety of standard and local topping choices(Green Chili!) They also have salads, calzones and a pretty good drink selection. The service was quick and friendly, although our waiter may have been new, he kept coming back too often to check on us. If you like big New Your style slices, and a relaxed but interesting locale, perfect for people-watching, this is a great place to visit.

Had a very good meatball sub. The salad with it was also very good. My party also had slices of pepperoni, which were very good, and very close to real New York pizza. Small place, not much room for lots of parties but very good food.

i wouldn't compare them to pizza in NY by any stretch, but they do have good pizza. great place to come have a couple of slices after you've already had a couple of cocktails. the ambiance is pretty relaxed and the staff is nice enough. what blows me away is that they charge for sides of ranch dressing. weak.

Came here with large group of people...

Pros - outdoor seating was very nice! Service was efficient and accurate. Pizzas were very tasty and crust was well-baked.

Cons - charged me a whole dollar for a small dish of marinara sauce to dip my crust in (in other places, this is usually complimentary).

I've decided to revisit this place because I have a different view on ABQ now.  And it's a bit less angry.

But this place just went from Good to WTF.

I was in today for lunch.  Ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs (The way yo momma woulda made it).  So I'm thinking... yay!  Even tho my mama ain't Italian.

    What came looked de-lish.

Then the first bite.  And wow.

A big disappointment.  First of all, the sauce was more like a soup.  It was super runny and bland.  The whole thing was covered in what was like a cow who took a mozzarella shit.  The cheese was thick, chewy and too fucking much.

I thought 2 things would happen.  Either I would choke on the cheese cuz I didn't chew it enough as it stretched from my fork to my stomach.  OR, I could floss my anus with the mozzarella later that night.

Plus, it was just wayyyy to much pasta.

I ate about 1/2 and gave up.

On a positive note, the flies were gone.  Except for one.  I let him live cuz you know, being a loner kinda sux already.

I won't be back.  Really.  But you go ahead and give it a try.

this is your hometown pizza joint. buzzing flies, dirty tables, and a very nice diverse set of customs. i loved it non that bothered me while i was there. i have eating at worst places. the food was nice with pretty good sized portions. it a place for a quick bit to eat by yourself or a place to met a friend have a nice long conversation. the location is prime right across the railrunner and the movie theater. this a place everyone needs to check out at least once or twice or 3 times more.
