Easily one of the best places I've been to in the HRM.  Excellent well priced beer selection, HUGE selection of scotch (if that's your thing) and a non-standard menu full of very delicious items.  They have both light fare, pub food, and deliciously healthy salads (The Spinach/Strawberry/Almond being stupidly delicious actually).

I try and get here every time I'm in the area, as I'm not disappointed at all!  The people of Cole Harbor are lucky to have a place like this!

It had been some time since I'd been here so when a coupon deal came up I decided to give it another try.

I like the atmosphere, not as eclectic as a true Irish pub but enough for Canadians to accept.  Just cozy enough to be your "local" if that's what you are looking for with a couple of comfy chair and sofa sections up front.

Very busy for an early Friday evening but service was prompt and friendly.  We ordered a caesar salad to share, I, a burger and hubby a beef dip.  The salad was fine, lots of fresh parmesan, bacon bits and croutons, not swimming in bottled caesar dressing but just not garlicky enough for our tastes.

Hubby enjoyed his beef dip, oddly it came on a kaiser bun with a tiny little condiment dish of dipping jus, rather awkward and messy, he had to ask for more jus, a larger dipping bowl would have been better.  He did say, however, the beef and jus were quite flavourful.

My burger was a fresh beef patty, not preformed or frozen, with a slice of cheddar on a sesame bun (the same kind used for the beef dip).  With tomato and lettuce and the usual condiments of mustard & relish on the side.  The burger was juicy and seasoned nicely. I think next time I'll add the mushrooms & onions.

Both our dishes came with fries. I'd say they were double cooked as they should be to make them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were dark, just short of being burnt, but enough to make them flavourful.  They use PEI potatoes so being from PEI that is a plus for me of course.

There's a great selection of whiskey and beer, I had the Jamieson's IPA.  The wine list is short but it does include some Nova Scotia wines we enjoy so that's another plus.

Why not 4 stars?  It was an A-Ok experience but I was not wowed.  I'll keep going back and perhaps I'll find something that really wows me.

If you're in the Cole Harbour area and want to have a nice dinner. Jamiesons is a great option. It's location in a strip mall made me a bit skeptical, but once you walk inside you are in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. My boyfriend could not stop talking about how it liked the way it was decorated.

Food is reasonably priced and there is a good amount of variety. I had the beef dip and fries. I think they have some of the best fries in the city! My boyfriend had the stuffed chicken. The portion sizes are generous and it tastes like meals were looked with love.

When we went it was not very busy, but i've heard that it can get quite busy there. The staff were great and friendly and the food did not take too long to get to the table. Two thumbs up!

Another of Dartmouth's hidden gems; although not a secret to anyone who calls Cole Harbour home Jamieson's offers decent food in a quiet, a comfortable atmosphere (you'll quickly forget that you're in a strip mall) for a reasonable price.  It's important to note that this is an Irish-themed restaurant, not a pub. You'll find a collection of favourites - Irish stew, fish & chips, sandwiches - but you can't just drop in for a drink (blame the ridiculous NS liquor laws).  You'll need to order an appetizer at least. Good news, they have Guinness on tap and a variety of Irish beers.

I've been to this restaurant probably a dozen times. I've tried a number of things on the menu. I recommend trying the Wild Mushroom & Ricotta Bruschetta
appetizer, both the Haddock Almondine and Pork Tenderloin are delicious and the Chocolate Flourless Cake will not disappoint you.

The service is good, the food is great and price is reasonable (shared app + 1 beer + 1 glass of wine + 2 entrees + a shared dessert + tip = $85). Overall, another place in the 'hood for a quiet date or to enjoy a relaxing evening out with friends.

Okay. Irish pub in a strip mall? Generally not cool in a city full of incredible, authentic, properly-located UK pubs and Brit-bars. But - and this is important - as soon as you step inside the door, you're going to get what all the fuss is about.

It's quirky and unique from the second you get inside. The mish-mash of different chairs and tables, the wall art and hangings, random miniature building-booth-things that I don't entirely understand but completely love...well, it all just makes for a really cool place to hang out. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the wireless is free for those who want a side of productivity with their brew, and the food is tasty. And it had better because of Jamieon's one big downside: they won't serve drinks unless you're also ordering food.

Luckily, this issue is easily overcome with an order of pastry-wrapped Danish brie. Twist my arm, why don't you...

Jamieson's is not too impressive. Old tables and chairs made me feel like I was on antiques road show. Prices were average. Food took a long time and wasn't good at all. Didn't hate it but wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Jamieson's is great - good food, great beer and a real homey feel.  Possibly the best Guinness in HRM!

The only downside is the location - in an unappealing strip mall, and out of the way for anyone not in Cole Harbour area...

Selfishly speaking, they might do better in downtown Dartmouth!

We have been going to Jamiesons since it opened. You can't visit Halifax without going! It may not be downtown Halifax but it is worth the very short drive. The food and atmosphere are perfect every single time. The staff go out of their way to make you have the best experience. One of the best restaurants I have ever been to, and definitely the best in Halifax! Holly Bond

I first had the pleasure of dining at Jamieson's just a few weeks ago, the first of what will be, many, many visits to come. The Irish restaurant offers exceptional food and friendly staff, in a cozy and intimate environment.

The Traditional Caesar Salad is simply delicious and the Atlantic Seafood Chowder is quite possibly the best chowder I've ever sampled, and highly recommend it.

I really like the atmosphere and decor at Jamieson's. Its cosy and there's lots of neat things to look at. The celtic music they have playing is inviting and comforting.

Jamieson's has the best french fries in HRM hands down. I don't know what they do to make them taste differently but they are the best I've ever had. I suspect they change the oil frequently and probably add sea salt to the fries.

The fish and chips here are incredibly delicious. The fresh haddock is lightly battered with a Smithwick beer batter and that gives it a light and slightly sweet taste. I love it. The burger I had last time was perfectly cooked and topped with mushrooms, cheddar, fresh greens and tomato. Its served on a toasted kaiser. It was excellent.

My wife had a haddock burger which had chow on it. The chow was slightly overpowering only because they added a bit too much. Still, a great variation to the classic fish burger. Also, the fish was not deep fried which made it even better. She substitued mashed potatoes for the fries and the potatos were fluffy, hot and delicious.

Our daughter had the parmesan and buttered pasta with crisp snow peas and carrots. She loved it.

The bill was a very reasonable $30. The service was very fast and friendly.

We plan to go back really soon as the menu has a diverse and excellent selection of dishes we can't wait to try.

Top notch pub!  Excellent food, great beer & wine selection.  Friendly and knowledgeable staff.  The decor is gorgeous, right down to the oiled wood flooring.  Comfy spot to sit and enjoy a beverage or wait for a table.  Only complaint is their licence does not allow them to serve alcohol without food purchase.  Sometimes I just want a Guinness.

Jamieson's is excellent!  The atmosphere is that of a homey Irish Pub, the food is terrific (save room for the bread pudding) and servers are friendly.  I've only been there for lunch but understand that it is often packed in the evening.  I wish it was closer to my neighbourhood!
