Despite my 'fraidy cat nature towards all things spicy, I've been wanting to try this place ever since it moved to its Dundas location so one Saturday afternoon mom & I stopped in for lunch. We were the first ones in right when it opened at noon but in quick succession four other parties walked through the door. Mom ordered the mild jambalaya but would've been fine with their default "medium" as all the flavour was there, just not too much heat. She also got corn bread on the side, which was sweet & fluffy. I ordered a jerk chicken fatija, which was EPICALLY good. Nom! The tortillia was oven baked to perfection (just enough crispy and chewy) and the peppers inside were so bright and flavourful. And the chicken, so good! I paid compliments to the owner (who was our server) and she was happy to hear it. She also took down my email address as they were looking to have evening performers start in the future.
The location is great for JLC events, but like all downtown restaurants parking is limited to street. I wish they were open around 4pm so I could pop in right after work, but I'm definitely looking to go back again soon. -

Great food, nice atmosphere. We go for the chicken roti. It's the best in London.

I haven't been to Jambalaya since they moved locations but from what I remember, it was a fairly solid Creole and Cajun restaurant. Their shrimp creole, jerk chicken (could use a bit more heat though), sweet potato fries, gumbo ya-ya (this dish has very good heat to it), and the Guyanese pepperpot were highlights for me. A dish to avoid was their pad thai as I found the noodles to be mushy (although it's a popular dish there so I guess it's just a personal preference). I find the prices to be high but I guess that's to be expected as they have little to no competition when it comes to Cajun or Creole food in London, at least in the downtown area. Service can be friendly at times (depending on who's serving you).
