Review from Paul C.
Was recommended by a local hair salon's owner and wife. Said they were very good and not too expensive. Went with a group of 7, around $215 with tax and tips. The food is definitely Richmond above average (which would be super duper if you are from Denver, CO). Very delicate and not your generic flavored Chinese..... The crab was good, so was the mushroom dishes. Even the soup that comes with your dinner was chicken soup with much fixings cooked in an individual pot.
Too many choices in vancouver, so I would likely try other places next time. But would recommend any to try them out.
Amazing Service!!!! -

Mediocre dimsum (a special twist on the Turnip pudding (little fried cubes with egg shaves and edaname)
Har Gow was good
Rice Rolls - too dense and not thin enough
My taste buds were out of whack at this time. Recommended to us by my Aunt who lives in the area. It seem like there were many locals eating here.
Good lot parking.Listed in: Seattle & Vancouver…

**See my previous review for King Crab dinner.**
Came here for dim sum, and was instantly reminded about why this place was fab. Seeing how its order before 11am for a 20% discount, we took our time in selecting the more unique dishes. The top dish we ordered, hands down, was the steamed mushroom dumpling. They weren't kidding when they said it was award winning - the three little pockets had a the most beautiful texture, and the truffle oil mixed in made it unbelievably amazing. It was so good. SO. GOOD. I wish I had ordered fifty of these.
The other good dish that was the deep fried milk, but it was a specialty dish (still with 20% off). The pan-fried lamb dumplings were also good, and the shrimp spring rolls were decent as well. After that, the rest of the stuff was downhill, though I think it's partially my fault on the bad ordering - I don't know what I was thinking, why would a wasabi shrimp roll be awesome? It seriously had a massive wad of wasabi in it, like as much as you'd get when you order a roll at sushi. In each dumpling. My eyes burned.
The other not-so-winning item was a beef brisket rice roll. It wasn't what I was thinking - the brisket was in thin slices, but it was mixed in with a lot of baking soda to soften to an almost mush, and carried a ton of minced ginger. I didn't see much different from order a regular beef rice roll.
If you come, get the mushroom dumplings. No joke, if you like mushrooms and truffle oil, this is your go to dish no matter what. Staff are nice and keep an eye on your teapot, and don't rush you out. Overall, we had a good time, and really enjoyed our meal. I don't regret getting the weird dishes, since you never see them anywhere else, but now I know what's good and bad. Love!
A fair walk from the Lansdowne Skytrain station, but totally doable when the weather is nice. The parking lot is pretty spacious for this area, but that's not saying much...Listed in: Richmond!, Dim Sum!, King Crab Feasting

We enjoy dinners here, so we figure we will try out dim sum on a day off. We waited for 10 mins for a table on a Friday arriving at 11:55am, and the service was good as we expected.
We pretty much enjoyed everything, but I have to say the Mushroom Dumplings are absolutely exceptional! Have not had anything like that - no wonder they win an award. You have to try this fantastic dim sum if you are there.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from J D.
Absolutely the best Chinese (Cantonese) restaurant outside Hong Kong!!!
Their Dim Sum is magnificent, the Crispy Fried Crab Claw stuffed with Shrimp is epic, I also enjoyed the Eggplant with sweet and sour sauce, Sautéed Beef with Green Onions and Ginger, and Roasted Rock Salt Chicken in Hot Pot, Steamed Sticky Rice Wrapped, and Deep Fried Shrimp Dumpling served with Consommé.
The menu includes all the classics like Peking Duck which was only ok, but the
Buddha's Feast or "Lo Hon Chai" (as pronounced in the Cantonese) was one of the best.
There are 3 more items that we tried and liked very much, the Beef Tenderloin in Foie Gras sauce, Singapore Style Fried Vermicelli, and The Jade Special Fried Rice.
The menu contains a number of specialty items that I didn't try but my friends did, if you check out their menu you'll know what I mean.
Enjoy

As I mentioned, it's one of my favour Chinese restaurant. I'm always here for dim sim and dinner.
What I like about The Jade is their willingness to challenge tradition by offering innovative dim sum and overall dishes.
I came here for Chinese New Year dinner again, in order to avoid the long wait we made the rsvn and per-ordered all the dishes on the most busiest days.
Cold appetizer - Prawn fruit salad just ok.
Hot appetizer - Baked clam in Portuguese sauce was tasty.
Soup - Full ingredients in clay pot, so hot and delicious.
Grandpa's smoked chicken was so tasty and tender - to die for!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I typically go to Sun Sui Wah for dimsum on weekends but I decided to try this for a change last weeked. We ordered hargow, siumai, har-cheongfun, fong-chau (chicken claw), century egg congee, and Portuguese egg tarts. We were there at 10:30am and barely any line-up - we got our seats in about 10 mins albeit arguable the worst seat in the house (awkward location where half the table was by obstructing the a door). I felt the food was pretty tasty (although I prefer the eggtarts at Sun Sui Wah better) and prices a little steep. My favourite dish was actually the congee that had generous pieces of pork - I had to add some soya sauce on it however as I think the chef forgot his salt! I wish they publicize their 'specials' more since I am only learning about their specials from reading through the reviews here. They also had a fairly small menu and lacked the carts which I love :-) I would recommend this place but I will certainly do some research (about what to order) before I go again. Service was good - they also gave us XO-sauce for free even though we were told it would normally cost us $3 :-)

Review from Michael U.
With a few days of Vancouver sightseeing and eating in the rearview, our second venture into the world of Dim Sum would be the last day of our stay in Canada and with a Canucks game plus Phnom Penh to look forward to plus great word of mouth from a couple of trusted sources we arrived at Jade Seafood Restaurant approximately twenty minutes after opening - a good thing, too, as the restaurant was already 3/4 full thanks to the morning 20% discount. Again welcomed by a pleasant host who inquired about reservations that we did not have it would be only a few moments before she found someone who spoke English to assist us and lead us to a seat in the center of the room - a room where we were once again the only Caucasian's to be found.
Greeted next by our waiter, a middle aged gentleman who spoke excellent English, menus were provided and tea was poured - this time a pleasant green variety at an unannounced charge of $2 per person along with ice water - much more practical than the boiling pot at Sea Harbour two days prior. Sitting and drinking the tea while weighing our options and chuckling at the rather traditional room still decorated for Christmas we decided this time to avoid over ordering and to instead go with two large items, two dim-sum selections, and two desserts - all of which were deemed 'good choice' by our waiter who hustled back to the kitchen as it appeared he was serving no fewer than ten tables.
Sitting and chatting while we waited no more than fifteen minutes I have to say we were all a bit surprised when two waiters returned carrying four of our six choices and while I must say that each was beautifully executed I cannot help but think that they all would have been even better had they arrived separated so we could enjoy them all hot - a small quibble perhaps, but something that was most notable in the first of the choices, "E-Fu noodles with Crab and Mushroom," as the savory ginger and scallion broth, abundant sweet crab, fibrous mushrooms, and tender noodles were wonderful when piping hot but significantly less so once they had cooled as we sampled the other items.
Moving next to a pairing of familiar items - one a quartet of snappy Har-Gow with a delicate wrapper and crunchy shrimp kissed with ginger on the inside and the second a dish that seemed much more French or American than Chinese but a dish that impressed all of us in the form of "Baked Mushroom Pastry," an intensely earthy and savory blend of soy and sautéed mushrooms in an impossibly light shell that literally melted in the mouth.
Moving next to the less traditional selection of the dim sum savories, Steamed Milk and Pumpkin Cake would also prove quite tasty with the flavor somewhere between angel food cake and canned pumpkin pie mix and the texture somewhere between bread pudding and flan -the combination certainly something more sweet than savory but a nice juxtaposition to the other items currently on the table.
With the first four choices being shared around the rest of our meal would arrive perhaps fifteen minutes later as a duo - one sweet, one savory, and both delicious. Beginning first with the sweet, a dish titled Deep Fried Milk with Mango Sugar would arrive as eight crispy fritters laced with the smell of coconut and a soft pudding-like interior consisting of little more than coconut milk and condensed milk but lovely none the less. Slightly sweet on their own but served with a bowl of fruity sugar these little delights reminded me mostly of funnel cake at the fare, something I've not had in ages but was glad to indulge in.
For the final dish of the morning and perhaps the most unexpectedly delicious item I've ever had as part of a Chinese meal, Sauteed Pumpkin with Salted Egg would arrive on a large plate with a bed of lettuce and appearing to merely be fried pumpkin I was astounded when I bit into my first piece to find it far more nuanced and elegant than I could have imagined. Seemingly made only from pumpkin, preserved egg yolks, and perhaps a bit of wine and shallots each bite of this dish started with a salty crispness that immediately gave way to the sweetness of the creamy pumpkin within. Bite after bite all I could do was sit there wondering how this item isn't more prevalent on Chinese menus and how such a simple combination (eggs, pumpkin, seasoning) had never occurred to me before - a situation I've remedied by making similar meals thrice since returning to Ohio.
With service excellent throughout and the bill tallying less than 1/2 of what was spent at Sea Harbour I can say without much hesitation that I would return to Jade for dim sum or dinner and while I cannot say that is a ringing endorsement given my limited experience with Chinese cuisines I can say that meals like this one make me want to seek out similar experiences in the future. -
Review from Nancy W.
Jade Seafood Restaurant is located in Richmond, BC - a city where amazing Chinese food congregate. With so many choices, sometimes it's hard to find a stunning restaurant. But never fear, Jade is located close to the airport on Alexandra Road with plenty of free parking. Considered one of the more upscale Chinese restaurants, prices are slightly more expensive than the others; however, you get what you pay for and the quality is consistent with some outstanding items on the menu.
Generally when you come for dim sum you can expect to see the general culprits such as Shrimp Dumplings, Siu Mais, Steam Spareribs and the like so I'm not going to bother review these. Just note that they are delicious and high quality.
What is notable at Jade is that their head chef Tony Luk is the recipient winner of the 2011 HSBC Chinese Restaurant Awards- battling competition among the best-of-the-best Chinese restos in Metro Vancouver.

I come here a lot and sometimes it is so second nature that I forget to do my homework and blog about it. By far my utter most favourite dim sum dish here is their Steamed Mushroom Dumplings.
Steamed Mushroom Dumplings $4.48
A medley of wild enoki, shiitake, oyster and Chinese mushrooms. This is one for their signature award winning items. The dumpling skin itself is thin enough that the mushrooms are slightly opaque and doesn't break apart when you handle it. Unsure if there is actually truffle oil inside, but the aroma certainly is intoxicating!
Baked Mushroom Pie Pastry $4.88
A delicious hot flaky mini pastry pie filled with mushrooms and cream sauce. Similar to the Steamed Mushroom Dumpling, this baby tingles your taste buds with mushrooms. Creamy. Flaky. Hot and not oily. A modern fusion twist done right!
Stir Fried Radish Cake in Hot Sauce $6.99
What's nice about these cubed radish cakes is that they are stir fried all on sides - leaving none soft / soggy. The hot sauce wraps these beautifully adding a little spice. Edamames are great for picking!
Steamed Crab Meat Dumpling $4.88
Similar to the Steam mushroom dumplings, the skin is thin enough to let the taste of crab meat shine.
Steamed Fish Maw Stuffed with Shrimp Paste $4.88
Fish maw = fish stomach. Sounds gross? The price of fish maw is far from cheap and it's one of the luxury ingredients in Chinese cuisine. It takes a lot of work to prepare; especially done correctly! Spongy in texture and absorbs the essence of egg whites, shrimp paste with a bit of added tobiko on top!
Dried Squid Minced Pork Hot Pot Steamed Rice 6.99
Hot pot steamed rice captures the flavour of all the ingredients - dried squid and minced pork. The hot pot chards the rice and gives it a crispy crunch. Sprinkled with roasted peanuts! Don't forget to mix in some soy sauce!
Fried Bean Curd Fish Paste Rice Roll $5.38
Slightly different from your routine cannoli rice rolls. Fresh fish paste is encased within the fried bean curd (this replaces the traditional Chinese donut), then wrapped with rice roll and steamed. This creates a multi-dimensional texture - soft, crispy, and elastic freshness. Definitely one of the must order Chinese dim sum dishes. Served with side Hoisin / Sesame dipping sauce.
Steamed Beef Balls 4.28
Minced beef balls with watercress steamed. Fresh watercress bits absorbs the flavor of the seasoned beef balls during steaming and provides a crunchy texture within the soft beef balls. Served with a side of worcestershire sauce for dipping.
There are so many speciality Chinese dim sum dishes that we often don't allow ourselves to savor. A lot of times it to requirement to get over that 'mental block' of trying a new ingredient; but if you open your eyes, there are so many beyond the Ha Gaw and Siu Mai's...

My updated rating is lower compare to my first experience. it is all because of MSG.
I had dinner here. The fancy menu is not the best in town. If you will go for dinner here, order the normal dishes and ask for no MSG.
I had dim sum here at noon. The dim sums tasted great.
So, average rating is a 3 now.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Charly S.
Ranks right up there with our favourite (money not a factor) dim sum place, Kirin. We are definitely fans of dim sum places where you order off the menu, this one was no different - the freshness and steaming heat of the dishes really contributed to our meal enjoyment. We were the only caucasians in here, but we didn't feel uncomfortable, the staff were pleasant and efficient. The delicate wrapping on the dumplings was enjoyable, not thick, mushy and overcooked like some places. Our favourite item was the shrimp and garlic spring rolls - crispy and light on the outside, firm but perfectly cooked shrimp on the inside and beautifully flavoured with garlic - yum! Also, delicious jasmine tea. The only negative was that we didn't see Gai Lan on the menu (they may have it, we didn't bother asking as there were other items we wanted to try). We were happy with our experience here and will be back.
We took the skytrain to Lansdowne and then walked for less than 10 minutes to get here (there is a bus that gets you there too). -
Review from Gregory C.
Best Dim Sum I've had outside of Asia. A very special place.
Excellent variety, very fresh, and all prepared piping hot. Every dish was prepared with an extra special touch. It's nice to see a chef go beyond the ordinary, and chef Tony Luk is deserving of his gold medal rating and the 2011 Chinese Chef of Year award.
Let's take a few typical Dim Sum selections that you can get almost anywhere, and see how Chef Luk transforms them into a memorable dish:
Pai Gu (Pork ribs) with fermented black bean - This pai gu was extremely tender yet a sizable portion, prepared with some combination of Chinese dry herbs, Chinese salted black olives, served on top of pumpkin with diced green and red bell peppers. When you bite into these ribs you first taste the aromatic spices, then a hint of salt from the olives, and a touch of sweetness from the pumpkin. I can't quite place an additional flavor in the mix, but I think these ribs may also be prepared with a kumquat or other citrus-based sauce. Excellent.
Intestines - Served on a bed of yams to add a sweet dimension to this dish. The intestines were very fresh and marinated with Chinese spices, which paired well with the yams. Haven't had better.
Siu Mai - So you say "Siu Mai...so what?" Au Contraire. This is the best siu mai ever. Perfect balance of shrimp and pork, without a lot of fat, with the freshest ingredients.
While these three were stand outs, every other Dim Sum I ordered was perfectly executed. This place does not hold back, and you really feel your money is well spent. A truly an enjoyable experience. -
Review from Rachel H.
Fantastic dim sum, in an out of the way, strip mall and highrise peppered neighborhood near Vancouver, B.C.
Worth the drive to Richmond for this award winning dim sum.
This is not the typical dim sum, but surpasses expectations and even our previous dining experiences at Yank Sing and Tom Kiang in San Francisco (from a food, rather than a service perspective.)
While the setting is typical (think large banquet style tables with white tables cloths) the dining experience is not. From the quality service, the ordering off menu rather than from steam carts, and the fantastic tasting, delicate dim sum, you will not regret a side trip to this unique food destination.
This is the first time we realized it was really pointless to request the normal dim sum condiments (red vinegar, red pepper oil, hot mustard) as it really would be an unnecessary shame to expose those sensational mushroom dumplings to anything beyond the lightest dab of soy sauce. Outstanding! -
Review from Sonia C.
Dim sum here is pretty great. They have a really good selection of appetizers in addition to their traditional dim sum. I judge most dim sum places by the quality of their ha gow and these were definitely top-notch - fresh, firm, plump shrimp encased in a chewy wrapper. There are lots of places that reheat the dumplings when you order them resulting in a soggy fragile wrapper, but Jade Seafood has so much turnover you never have to worry about items being old. Their shiu mai and deep fried salt water dumplings were very good as well. We also tried one of the more unique items on the menu - deep fried milk - and found it pretty tasty if you like ultra-deep-fried battered food (I do, but this is definitely meant to be shared by like 8 ppl).
I was a bit disappointed in their recommended beef shank in XO sauce since it was just diced cubes of brain-freeze inducing cold beef. -

Surprised to find good dim sum in Richmond with great service.
Things I are great about Jade:
-Plenty of parking spots
-Greeted with a smile and within a quick 2mins of arrival
-Greeted with a smile from the servers when taking our orders
-Food came within a reasonable amount of time
-Food was great! There were 5 of us and we finished almost every plate
Only 2 minor issues - Preserved eggs, dried oysters and pork congee felt like it needed a tiny bit more salt. Fried turnip cake had too much salt and spices. Not a big deal, but just pointing out.
Overall, if I go to Richmond to have dim sum again, I would come back to Jade. Pleasantly surprised! -
Review from Cody S.
We were told that this might be the best Dim Sum in Richmond. Of course we had to try it.
The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated. Everything has been put together well here. It is very comfortable. There are a few fish tanks, but they are kind of out of the way.
The congee with thousand year old egg and dried oyster was my favourite. The black chicken and fish maw was perfectly prepared. I love a dish with a perfect taste and aftertaste. This was the one. The mushroom dumpling was out of this world. There were only 3, but, I could have easily eaten this one for days.
The service was ok. I would have given it 5 stars for the food alone. The servers were moderately attentive....it was quite slow overall. We will be back here, regardless.Listed in: Saturday Morning Food in…

This restaurant has very good service for such a busy place even though we did have to wait a little bit for our first dish to arrive. They do a good job in making you feel a little pampered with all the little things they do for you throughout the entire meal.
The food itself was good, but not excellent. The portion sizes were just right to make it worth your money. I would for sure come here again for another meal when I come on down to Richmond the next time. -
Review from Ha T.
We must exist in an alternate universe - because we experienced a Jade Seafood so completely opposite of what everyone else described.
Dim sum was generally over-steamed. They gave us soggy BBQ pork buns and shumai, limp tripe, and watery spareribs. The mango crepes were mostly whipped cream and a teeny-tiny piece of mango, topped with two stems and (yes!) one cherry. Who bit off the other one? Yuck.
Service is horrendous if you don't know Chinese. The one hostess with the short hair was probably the rudest we've ever encountered. I'd much prefer Sun Sui Wah where they actually treat non-Chinese speakers like human beings. -

Come here for dim sum.....Not for Dinner..
My mother set up a dinner for all of my relatives visiting from out of town for mine and my wifey's pre-wedding dinner... The food really sucked my sorry to say. We had a set menu which conisted of this weird looking clear soup, peking duck, this really sticky fried rice. chow mein, 6 kinds of meat and seafood entree's and veggies. Everything and I mean Everything was really lacking flavor.
The rice was really sticky and luke warm for some reason, The soup was like drinking hot water with meat and veggies in it, the gai lan was hard as rock. oh man!... The only thing remotely close to being edible was the duck.. and steamed rice...
Don't get me wrong, the service was acceptable! and the presentation of the food was was good too. Its just the flavor for me.. not enough love!! "where is the love" ;)..... dim sum anyone? -

Invited to a lunch meeting here.
Thumbs up!! Plenty of free parking - remember this is Richmond..., service was excellent -the staff actually feel and look like they enjoy working here....price?...very reasonable for what you get.
In short, the dimsum was 'fusion dimsum'!
It was innovative, and delicious.
I'd go back in a heartbeat.
You gotta try what I call the 'blueberry blast' dessert item - resembles a tiny steamed pork bun but once you pop one of these in your mouth.... full of flavour and melts in your mouth! Wow-ZAA!
btw, beer and wine prices are very reasonable... -

The dinner was pretty decent though my favourite was this scallop fried rice dish that was super flavourful. The lobster was pretty good here too. The service was friendly though I think one of the servers was hilarious as he was a little over the top with very humorous and maybe unnecessary comments. Anyhow, that guy made an average Chinese restaurant to be quite the memorable meal.
Free parking in their private lot...always a plus. And the restaurant and rest rooms were clean. -

Came in with my mom and sister for dim sum because I remember seeing this on Yelp and was game to try somewhere new. The har gow were plump and filled with shrimp. The Sui Mai were small but flavorful. The tripe was pretty good in a nice sauce. Very yummy food but the portions were small and the menu selection was limited. For 6 dishes and three tea servings, the bill came up to $35 and each dish averaged $4.50. We missed the discount that they offer if you are there before 11am. I'm not sure that I would go back again. Shi Art in Richmond is a better choice for the same value.

I highly recommend this place for both dim sum and dinner.
I like their menu choices for dim sum and how their chef uses different ingredients than the regular dim sum choices. I enjoyed their Alaskan King crab and special "Cantonese" soup for dinner.
Even when it comes to the usual BBQ pork buns or shrimp dumplings for dim sum, their chef prepares it well and serves it hot. There are much to choose from their dim sum menu so I won't bother listing them all. I believe the usual dim sum goers will be able to find something you like or want to try.
This restaurant is higher end and more expensive than most Chinese dim sum places. I think they have good food quality, great service and nice modern decor to back up their prices though. If you pay your bill before 11am, I think they offer a 10% or 15% discount...please double check with restaurant when you make a reservation.
I prefer this restaurant over Sun Shui Wah and Kirin in Richmond for dim sum. Although the other two restaurants have been around longer, I like Jade for its varied menu options, good foods, and nice service. They servers are attentive to changing your plates and I think it's nice to have the French food service at a Chinese restaurant.Listed in: YVR - Yummy Vancouver…

Another excellent Chinese restaurant in Richmond. Decorated in the traditional Chinese style and can be booked for formal dinners.
The food quality is excellent and service is better than the average Chinese restaurant. Nice selection of dishes. I have been here for dinner and loved almost everything I served. We had lobster, some fish mixed up and served in a conch shell (highly recommend this), shark's fin soup, a sausage and Chinese vegetables dish, and bird's nest soup. These were all very tasty, nicely flavored and not heavy. Presentation was attractive, especially the bird's nest soup in a papaya. The only dish I was a little disappointed in was the scallops and shrimp - I thought this was a bit average, but other than that, the dishes were excellent.
I highly recommend this restaurant! -

A good place to have dim sum in Richmond. The decore is Chinese modern and large enough to accomodate formal dinners.
I went with two other people to have dim sum. They have a good large selection of dishes to choose from. I particularily like the rice roll with crispy Chinese donut and fish paste on the inside. It came with three sauces too. If you like things on the adventureous side, try the duck tongue in a slightly sweet marinade sauce with peanuts at the bottom.
The servers were pretty efficient and the food came in a reasonable time. -

Saw Jade Seafood Restaurant listed in the paper with Bronze rating after Kirin and Sum Tsui Wah restaurants. We also yelped this and wanted to give it a try for dim Sum. We are from San Francisco, CA; but comparing this place to Kirin and similar dim sum places. We arrived at 11:30am and discovered on the menu that if you arrive between 9am-11am, you get 20% off. The price per item is one of the priciest we had seen. Most items between $4 and $5, so it's a bit pricey for dim sum.
Xiu mai and ha gao tasted good. There are only a few good items, but the rest are very average for a highly yelp rated dim sum place (to our surprise). Their Ha Cheung (shrimp wrapped in wire dumpling) was not good at all. The rice skin was thick and the shrimp was very small. Nothing like what we have back home in San Francisco Hong Kong Lounge restaurant.. Ha Cheung at Kirin in Vancouver was many times better.
We do like their jasmine tea - nice and has delightful fragrant.
FOOD - Dim sum (don't waste your money here)
SERVICE - average for Chinese dim sum.
LOCATION - good (we love the Richmond Chinese area)
PARKING - plenty since it's an open strip mall.
Will we come back here for dim sum? Not a chance.. Way too expensive and the dim sum is too average. We would rather drive a little further for Kirin or save our money to have a nice seafood dinner at Kirin.. Boy, Kirin seafood is very memorable.
Don't take my word for it.. Try it out if you believe in the other 90% of the folks who yelped this place. We would pay for good dim sum, but this wasn't good at all. Maybe, it's made for the Canadian taste buds or something or we just came on an off day. -

I had recommendations for this place, and found it to be a great dim sum place, with a variety of dim sum to choose from.. They also place a star on a few dim sum that were their specialties. Yes, I tried all of them and they were good. There is also plenty of free parking beside the restaurant. The servers were efficient and the tables very spacious. The only downside is its busy during peak hours on Sunday.

4 stars. Another example of the quality of chinese food in BC.
This place is not cheap and it can be extremely expensive depending on what you order. My friend and I had the set dinner coming out to about $30 dollar/person. The food is on the traditional side and some are cooked with traditional chinese medicine (for example, the chicken soup). The food is quite nice, I particulary like the chicken soup and the empress chicken dish. -

Visited Jade for dim sum on Saturday morning and found it easy to get into at 10:30. When we left around 11:30, it still had open tables and no wait (this isn't usually a good sign for a dim sum place).
The service and food were both good with delicious beef chow fun, mushroom dumplings, and siu mai. However, the menu seemed pretty small in comparison to my other dim sum haunts.
Food came out quickly and hot/fresh. Dim sum is handled by placing an order so don't expect any carts.
I would go back when I'm in the mood for standard dim sum but wouldn't go out of my way to take family/friends as I don't think it offers the 'wow' factor of other dim sum places. -

Great place for traditional dim sum fare and its prices are comparable to other Chinese restaurants serving dim sum in the area. We got in around 10:30am on Saturday and there was no line at all. We ordered:
- beef chow fun (hot off the wok)
- pork dumplings (juicy and plump)
- mushroom dumplings (steamy and filled with chopped shitake)
- pan fried rice rolls (golden and crispy)
- pan fried fish paste (crispy and flavourful if you like fish cakes)
- fried salt water dumpling (see below)
- sticky rice (see below)
They were all very good except for the sticky rice and the fried salt water dumplings which were somewhat bland.
The wait staff were all very proactive and attentive. They came to change our plates which were covered with lotus leaves from the sticky rice and brought us more take away boxes when they saw us trying to stuff the left over into the one box which we requested. -

This one of the best Chinese restaurants in Richmond/Vancouver area. Everything was done right. We ate dim sum lunch and dinner here. There is a large selection of dim sum. The shrimp har gow and pork sui mai are excellent. The pork sui mai had crab roe on top, and the pork was tender. Their chicken and bbq pork buns are very tasty. Dinner was also a good experience. We had steamed fish and roasted squab. The fish was steamed to perfection. Decor was very comfortable, and service was professional. Very easy parking.

this is my grandparent's favorite place to go for dimsm because they know the people, they have an elevator that will will take them to the 2nd floor and help avoid the stairs. With the floor to ceiling windows is a fun view to see of the street happenings. The food is very fresh and delish. Rather than the carts, you order from the menu. The freshness of the food makes up for the lack of carts. They have a really vast selection of dumplings, noodles, buns, meatballs. They have this complimentary dish that I think is made of shredded dried shrimp and a mild chilly oil...its sooooo good. The price is slightly pricier than some places I've been too. For 8 adults and 2 kids, our bill came to $110. I was a little hungry afterward but i think it was because I was chasing my baby around the restaurant since they didn't have a fish tank to entertain the little ones.
