Review from Scuba B.
Whitby, ON
Always a good spot for lunch or dinner. Fast, friendly and if you have any issue with a meal they insist on making it right.
Although I prefer family owned and unique spots, Jack Astor's has a winning recipe and I am rarely disappointed.
( One pet peeve however is that I was just told by my server that their pint glasses of beer are 18 ounces and they they try and upsize you for a fee to Jacks size... How about giving me an actual 20 oz pint in the first place?) -
Review from Fred B.
Ajax, ON
Its Jack Astor's with really good service. I'm a big fan of the "Always fresh and never frozen" battered chicken fingers (With mild sauce); I never leave the place without a bite. The waitress and manager were very polite, everything looked clean (Tables/Washrooms), and the bar area was pretty big. That said, there were flaws to this place, and it might not just be this version of Jack Astor's.
First, the food from the kids menu is abysmal if not lower. Ya ya I know I'm hating on the kids menu but you can do better at McDonald's and maybe Jonny's Hamburger (Refer to my Jonny's burger review). Next, don't expect this or any Jack Astor's to have vegetarian support unless you like salad with sometimes no dressing. Last, Wi-Fi was nonexistent which they advertise they have free Wi-Fi for customers but whatever
Overall, it was good food for anyone 12 and up that's not vegetarian and likes eating without checking email.
