My partner & I go here regularly for lunch. The food & service are both very good. The lunch selcetions are good; soup salad etc.

We have been to this location a few times in the last month after years away. We enjoy the good vibe and atmosphere, and the menu seems to have expanded. The nachos, burgers, beer potato soup, and even the presentation and taste of the French Fries are appealing. The service has been above average on a consistent basis. I look forward to going back here in the coming months, I also think any American's would enjoy Jack Astors as a unique restaurant to try.

Jack Astor's in the masonville area is always a busy place to eat no matter what day it may be, although they are usually very quick in turning tables and have you seated in about 20-30 mins even on a busy Friday night. Call in advance to book a dinner reservation on the weekends because that's when they are the most busiest!
The restaurant itself is always very clean apart from the bar area where you can throw peanut shells on the floor (which is awsome! lol). There is also TV's everywhere so you can always catch the game or those late night sports highlights. Big booths for a more private dinning experience and many of tables as well.
Now on to the food. It kinda reminds me of an American roadhouse which steaks, burgers, etc but they also have many other choices including a pad Thai! Personally I haven't tried anything other than the burgers because they are so good. Can get a little on the pricey side depending on what you get but I think the burgers are the perfect bang for your buck. Great portions as well, I mean you'll never leave hungry. And the service is great as well, very attentive and always around to refill drinks, etc. -

I was pretty surprised with this place - thought it was going to be the Canadian version of Applebees/tgi fridays/chilis...list goes on and on, but it wasn't. Yeah its like applebees in that it has a bunch of useless crap on the walls but, the service was REALLY good- they were nice, paid attention to their tables and didn't seem like they were annoyed by customers, as for the food- it was better than applebees and all other grill type places. I would go back, I really would. Plus they liked my glasses.
