Review from Teena D.
I'm back in Barrie for the night as I have one-on-ones to conduct all day tomorrow starting in the morning.
I had supper at Jack Astor's. It was fairly busy for a Monday evening.
My server, Kevin, was great. He was friendly and took good care of me.
I was torn between my two favourites there ...
Chicken Parmigiana (Fresh chicken breast, lightly breaded and topped with smoked Mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Served with bowtie pasta, tossed in a creamy cheese sauce.) and Indian Butter Chicken (An authentic recipe! Fresh, marinated chicken breast sautéed in an aromatic butter sauce, served with Basmati rice and tandoor baked Naan bread.)
Kevin helped me out by flipping a coin and I had Chicken Parm, which was good and filling. -

Gross..!! We all left feeling like we ate an expensive greasy meal. Wait staff were slow, 15 mins for a glass of water. How do you screw up chicken fingers? I sent them back and got attitude from the waiter and the supervisor. I won't be going back that's for sure..

Go north young man!!!!
Ok, so I'm not a young man, and north where??? Man, I am so lost!
How did I end up here??? God knows, I do not speak french, and my english...well, at least I have that down. Check out the website...it's in french/english real cool....
I am in this town of Barrie, Ontario, Canada... 30-40 minutes north of Toronto. Business trip.
I arrived in town early. Enough time to grab lunch before going to work. Wanted to go to a nice looking watering hole.
The atmosphere is nice. TV's all over the place. Blue Jays on TV..Sorry no Tigers! This is not primarily a sports bar. The interior is more of a modern/deco(ok, don't ask me why I would say that, may have been the beer). Since I am a big beer and burger fan I had to give this a try.
Appetizer:
CHEESE GARLIC PAN BREAD
Their signature fresh-baked loaf, topped with a melted
three-cheese blend, and served in a pan with garlic dip.
Since I am Italian, I love garlic - This is TOTALLY awesome - 5 Stars
(My breath is awful and the garlic is coming out of my pores, ewww)
Food:
SMOKEY JACK'S BURGER
Smoked partly-skimmed Mozzarella, hickory-smoked bacon and a stack of crisp onion straws. - REALLY good! 4.5 Stars
Drink:
22oz of Canadas finest brew - Molson Canadian(domestic) - No rating - Realy good and smooth....
Dessert:
No way! No Room! Come on...give me a break...
Service:
Fast, friendly, chatty-4 Stars
Don't forget, prices are in Canadian $.....
OK, so after all that I had to go sign in to my hotel and take an afternoon nap....oops! almost missed my afternoon meeting...
Oh well, I am going to try and check out for dinner. Looks like it may be a fun place. -
