  My wife and I each purchased a teeth whitening session from a recent LivingSocial deal and Ivory Whitening did not meet our expectations.
  
  First of all, we expected for this to be a professional procedure. Not so. The "technician" simply acts as a caddy and hands you all the tools and you perform the procedure on yourself. You put the cheek-spreader in yourself, you apply the whitening gel yourself, and you even put the paper-towel-bib on yourself.
  
  Second, the lady tried to recruit us both (on separate visits) to an "entrepreneur" program for selling fitness supplements--one of those pyramid scheme programs they trick you into thinking is a business opportunity but is really a way for the people at the top to make more sales. This confirmed my own suspicions that all of the equipment and supplies came from one of those cheesy "quit your job and be your own boss" seminars that any wise person stays far away from.
  
  Lastly, while the both of us noticed positive results, the technician only handed us the mirror for the "after" comparison. Why wouldn't she let us see the "before"? We suspect that she kept that bit to herself in order to exaggerate the results to make it seem more impressive and draw repeat customers.
  
  If you're fine with all this, the whitening *does* work... but at regular price it would be far from worth it. This isn't a trained professional who went to school for this and should be compensated accordingly. This is a person who went to a seminar, runs appointments out of her house, and makes an incredible markup on her "service."

  Hello Will, I'm one of the owners at Ivory Teeth Whitening. Thank you for your review of Ivory Teeth Whitening. Even though your review was not as good as we would like, we do take into consideration your opinion and hope to improve our service based on your experience. I will try to explain a few things as best I can.  So far with our Living Social vouchers we have a 81% thumbs up rating, meaning  8 out of 10 clients have been happy with the results and procedure. This is a very high rating for any teeth whitening location or service.
  We created Ivory Teeth Whitening as an affordable alternative to going to the dentist and a superior choice to over -the- counter or drug store products.  The Living Social voucher clearly states that the voucher is for a self- guided procedure, as does our consent form that you sign prior to whitening and so does our website. I insisted it be that way to avoid as much confusion as possible.
  We have tested many different procedures and products used for teeth whitening and have chosen what we believe is the most effective way of whitening for our clients.  We found the paint- on method we use to be the most effective method available and that's why we use it.  It does take a little more of a hands-on approach for our clients but yields the best results in our opinion compared to other methods or procedures available elsewhere. The whole time you are guided by a tech that always has your best interests in mind and is there to help and guide you through a very simple process for most.
  Yes, the whitening does work. It works very well and the results are instant.  We average about 5-6 shades whiter per hour. This is an average. Some people whiten more and some might whiten less.  Your results were within the average range (which is a great improvement) and your wife commented more than once that she was impressed with her results because she was well above average. Everybody has different teeth and different kinds of stains. We always recommend our home whitening kits to maintain your results and to whiten your teeth even more after visiting our office.
  We are not dentists and are very clear about the difference. That's why we are priced that way. Our procedure is self- guided.  That being said we can only guide you with the process of whitening your teeth.  We have whitened more teeth at our location than likely anywhere in the Edmonton.
  If you would like a professional to do all the work then the only other option would be to see your local hygienist or dentist.  They are a great option as well.  Please ask or visit your local dentist about in-office treatments and pricing. It can range from $300 to $700 with many dentists not offering it at all and choosing to send you home to do the whitening yourself (Home whitening kits average about $200 or more at a dentist's office). If you are comfortable paying that price I encourage you to seek out that option as an alternative to coming to Ivory Teeth Whitening.
  We apologize for you taking offense to the introduction of health products at our office. Many of our clients are very health conscious and open to hearing about them. The products offer a lot of value to some people and offer a very simple way to start your own business with the benefits of larger businesses but without the costs. I won't comment any more than to say that we apologize for you not wanting to know about health products.  
  We do not run this business from home. It is a 100% commercially zoned area for business. Most of our clients love the feeling of our location, the decor, the comfort and privacy.
  We have changed our procedure to make sure that a mirror is handed both before and after the procedure for you to see your results. We do not attempt to exaggerate the results for obvious reasons. In the end our customers would not come back if the results were to be exaggerated.  
  To sum things up, we are taking your review comments to try to improve the experience of future customers. We do try our best to please our customers and hope they can come back in the future or recommend us. We hope you reconsider your review.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
