Stopped in here briefly on the way to a meeting to grab my first cup of joe for the morning. This is a cool little cafeteria-style cafe where you grab your coffee first (self-serve) and take it up to the counter to pay. 5 or 6 different roasts to choose from, and all organic fair-trade. Yay! The cafeteria-style seems like a great system given that this place is on the main floor of a major office building. My one big complaint is that the coffee cups are cheap quality, which meant I had hot dark roast leaking all over my hands on the way to my meeting. Bah, humbug.
It's conveniently placed on Jasper Ave, so next time I'm downtown (which is often) I'll probably be grabbing a quick lunch here. -

I like the feel of this place from the outside. It's warm and inviting. It holds the promise of wholesome, fresh food and doing something good for your body and mind. I think they could have done a lot more with extending this invitation with their inner decor too. They've got a great sign, but inside feels pretty non-descript.
It just has your sunny cafeteria food, with a case filled with ready-made sandwiches, some sweets and prepared salads. Don't get me wrong. The food's wonderful and the right price for a no fuss lunch on-the-go, but if I were to do a make-over of the inside, I'd paint the walls a warm yellow, add a little decor and get rid of the fake plants. Fake plants - in a corner shop filled with light! And the portend to be "natural." They sell fruit shakes and other bevvies and some delicious looking dessert snacks. The food is done well - but if they want to differentiate themselves and stand out with a million options in the area, they need to work on the character of their interior. Any image consultant would charge them $500 and tell them that. If I ran a business I'd have a suggestion box inside my store. Customers are your best resources.
