Italian Week or Italian Fest is always a safe bet especially if you're into good Italian food and nice cars.
Every June the community along Preston Street rolls out their best hospitality (they roll out good hospitality every day at most of the Italian pubs and restaurants) for this event.
The last few years it's been a bit of a bust because of Preston Street construction but I'm hoping next June things will be back on track. The Ferrari parade is pretty jaw dropping and the bike race is a fun event for families to enjoy. There is food served on the street which is mostly shut down but if you want to get into one of the restaurants you'll probably spend some time waiting.
This is as close to Italy as many people in our city will get. Hopefully I see the real thing soon enough but I'll settle for this cute little festival in the meantime.
