Great food but even better service!! The owner Mike is a superb guy who's got a good thing going here.

I heard from a friend that I should give Italian Sandwich Shop a shot. First off, not really a fan of the name. Sounds kind of generic, but the food was anything but. This is a really tiny place on Erie St. (Little Italy), close to McDougall. It's a cozy little place that has their giant menu displayed on their wall. The menu is small. They're focused on their sandwiches, soups, and salads. The service is excellent. The owner is super friendly and struck a conversation with me. Even served me a free cup of soup while I waited for my sandwich to be ready. None of the sandwiches are over $8.

I came here to try their Chicken Parm Sandwich, but left with a Godfather Veal Sandwich in my hand. It just looked too good to pass up. The Godfather Veal Sandwich ($7.95) is stuffed with a veal parmigiana filet, mushrooms, red peppers, mozzarella cheese, and tomato sauce. It's compiled on top of white italian hoagie roll. The sandwich is drizzled with olive oil and italian seasoning. The veal filet was a little thin, but tasted pretty good. It had a nice crunch to it. The combination of the mushrooms, peppers, and cheese with the tomato sauce was really incredible. It really makes the sandwich great. The soup they gave me was good. It was like a beef noodle soup. Small cup, but I appreciated the fact that it was given to me while I waited for the sandwich. Also got a Brio, which is like Italian Coke, but with a more coffee like taste? Can't really describe it.

Overall, the Italian Sandwich Shop is a really nice place to grab a bite. They offer free delivery, but it's a nice little place to grab a bite to eat. The people there are friendly and the place offers some good grub. Well worth a visit. I will definitely come back to get me that Chicken Parm sandwich.
