Review from Connie T.
Toronto, ON
If Island Foods couldn't get any better, it opened up a counter right downtown so I no longer have to make the trek out to King and Dufferin for a roti fix.
Not only is this place more central, but the rotis here are just as good as the mothership at Parkdale (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...), and the seating area is actually quite inspiring, in a food court that's actually NICE... skylights and everything. In a way, it reminds me more of an open-concept Hollywood mall than a food court lodged on the first floor of an apartment building.
Plus, the channa roti and boneless chicken roti send me off on foodie bliss. -

AMAZING FOOD!!!
i would be back there everyday if the line ups weren't a kilometer long.
once every month or so though its a must! no matter the length of the line up.
half the office makes an order, then we send a pour soul or two to get the stuff and haul it back to us.
its almost like Christmas.. only no eggnog : ) -

Still awesome, and still there. The owner says they will be gone by the end of the month, however. Since my last review I've tried the doubles and a couple other rotis - shrimp and beef, they're all reliable! I've heard tell however of mystically hot doubles, and these were not all that spicy. The quest for the truly firey doubles continues...

Review from Kat T.
I crave roti ever since a friend introduced me to them at this Island Foods. I'd had some in the past, but never, ever like this. It's quick, on my way home from work and D-lish. I always get the shrimp roti with a little bit of hot sauce. The roti bread here is way more spongy, flavorful, and thick than other places I've been. Not sure if they make it from scratch, but it is a soft wrap around curried potatoes and big, juicy shrimp in some broth that blows my mind. The folks who run this place and really nice and efficient, too.
