I am living in Vancouver, and had read the reviews on yelp before ordering some mothers day flowers for my Mom last year. I spoke with Jim, and these guys did an outstanding Job.
I just called again this year for the same thing, and everytime I order flowers for anyone back home in Halifax I call Jim at Irises. You should too!

So this review is 4 years late, but hey, better late then never as the saying goes.
These folks were our saviour at our wedding. Our flower provider (a family member who was growing them at home) had a mishap with their garden and left us 1 week before the wedding in August with no flowers. Try getting a florist in August with 1 weeks notice. They came through for us, and we will always be grateful.
The staff were professional, easy to talk to and they were very reasonably prices when they could have pretty much charged what they wanted in our case. -

I could not be happier with my experience at this quaint (though not to be underestimated) little hidden gem of a shop. I met with one of the staff members this morning, after viewing their work online and liking what I saw, to discuss floral bouquets and such for my upcoming nuptials. The best way to describe the experience would be "relaxed". Both employees were extremely friendly and laid back which right away put me at ease.
I sat down with Glenn to discuss my options, while Jim brought me a coffee (anyone who provides me with free caffeine automatically rocks in my world), which was a welcome touch. Their customer service skills were excellent, they seem like the kind of people who really go above and beyond for their clients. Glenn listened enthusiastically to my ideas, answered my questions graciously, and offered suggestions whenever I was unsure about anything, but without being pushy, overbearing, or trying to upsell just to try and squeeze a little extra moolah out of me. Not that there's much more to squeeze at the moment. I'm more like a banana than an orange in this regard.
He gave me several price quotes (comparable with other florists I have talked to) based on items I was interested in, and even offered to email the numbers to me later that day. He was so kind and genuine, that as I sat and discussed these things with him, I felt more like I was chatting with a good friend than a talking business with a stranger.
Honestly, after my wonderful experience here, I really don't feel the need to consider anyone else to oversee my floral arrangements. High quality creations and fantastic customer relations get Irises Flowers the job!Listed in: Down the Aisle...

Yesterday morning I called Irises to place an order for delivery and i'm very impressed with the overall experience.
In the past year i've given, received, sent and picked up bouquets and planters from various Halifax florists and i've gotta say: not totally impressed.
I was prompted to check out Irises' when I remembered how lackluster the last arrangement I received had been (from a more well known florist). The bouquet was from my mama (a bonafide horticulture expert no less) whom I know would have given detailed instructions and yet it looked as though some (colour blind?) person had randomly collected flowers with the intent of hitting a specific overall dollar value, rather than aiming for any sort of aesthetic. For THIS reason I headed to Irises...
The website even recommends that (for purposes of delivery) you tell them favored colours of the recipient etc so that they can make something that that person will really love!
When my friend called gushing about the surprise delivery this morning I was grateful that the folks at Irises had put so much effort into my request.

Halifax has no shortage of flower shops, so why is this small, strange flower shop my favourite in Halifax? Because they do up the most gorgeous bouquets, for reasonable prices, incredibly quickly. You go in, say you want something amazing, and no more than 2 minutes later you're holding the most beautiful thing you've ever seen.
