Review from Leon C.
Vancouver, BC
IRIS is truly one of the the best and most high-end eye care centre brands at a premium price in Vancouver. Basic services such as eye exams, glasses and contact consultation are excellent. However, there is a lot of room for improvement in the Eye Correction division.
During my research stage, IRIS advised me that I am qualified to do both PRK and LASIK. They encouraged me to do LASIK, however, didn't give me straight forward guidance in terms of the most suitable method for my eyes. I was as confused before and after the consultation. In my mind, although it makes sense to deal with someone I always go with, IRIS just doesn't feel very right when it comes to vision correction given it isn't the same doctor I usually see whom will be performing. I also noticed that my doctor in Richmond Centre appears to know very little about the process. Not impressed with the level of explanation and testing. A young looking junior did a 2 quick 5 minutes tests on me. Additionally, the surgery takes place in Langley with someone I will meet on the surgery day - although they provide transportation, I am not impressed (it is a terrible feeling to be outsourced). In my opinion, the IRIS Eye Correction Program truly deserves a failing grade. Please see my review on Coal Harbour Eye Centre for more details.

Hit and miss service. If any probelms raise, IRIS, either staff or upper level managers, does not step forward to address them. Basically they look at the sale not customer retention. So be cautious and avoid the optician Laila Noorie.

Like how you take care of your teeth so you can chew your food.. you need to take care of your eyes to see and eat your delicious meals. That's why I go every year to my all-time favourite optometry location - IRIS!
IRIS has two of the greatest Optometrists hands-down - Dr. Darren Berring and Elisa Lim. Both of them are knowledgeable, patient, caring, thorough, and shower you with their friendly and enjoyable personalities! During the eye exams, you really get a sense that they care for and love their job - they always make the appointment about you.
Want to know about cataracts? contact abuse? laser eye surgery? the anatomy of the eye? I asked Dr. Berring all of those questions, and he gave me relevant and easy-to-understand information. I learned some interesting things - wear your sunglasses people to protect you from cataracts! Don't abuse your contact usage otherwise you'll get 'ghost vessels' in your eyes!
Overall, amazing optometrists and staff included. Also, their contacts are quite comparable to online prices - check it out!
*heart* your eyes! *heart* IRIS! -
Review from Larry L.
I came to this location initially looking for a set of cheap glasses that I could get quick quick quick. I already knew that this was unlikely given the fact that my eyes are pretty bad and I need a special strong prescription. I came into the store with tape all over my rims, feeling like a nerd and knowing that I'll have to dish out $$$ to get proper glasses someday. I was surprised that they could repair my glasses and it was only $10. Wow! OK. I guess I should buy a pair. I'm due for a new set anyways.
I booked an appointment, picked out the frames I liked and came back the next day to see the optometrist. I saw Dr Elisa Lim. She's terrific. She explained things to me about the eye exam and why she was getting me to do certain things with the lenses and eye drops and other little tests. She talked to me about my diabetes how my visions is affected as I get older. ( I was flattered she thought I looked like I'm in my 20's). Anyways, she explained stuff to me that made sense and stuff that my previous eye doctors never really explained. Even though I may have heard about it in the past, it was just too clinical for me, it was a good refresher and knowing that she had an interest in her paitent made me feel more confident in her ability. I got a proper exam and got the glasses I wanted. I'm probably paying more than what I thought I would pay, but the service has been very good for me that I really have no complaints at all. I'm also sure I'll get the glasses lense combo I really want this time. I rarely give 5 stars and this is one of those rare occasions. So thank you Dr Lim and the staff at Iris Richmond Centre!
