As I continue on my quest for great English style fish and chips, it was confirmed to me again today that Irene's Seafood restaurant has some of the best in London, Ontario. This restaurant has long been a favorite of mine, and after a 4 year absence (mine, not theirs), it was like meeting an old friend.
The restaurant itself is small and quaint, with friendly and helpful staff. There are a variety of other items on the menu besides seafood (grilled chicken, rib-eye steak sandwich, etc.), but this is the place I will invariably go for good fish and chips. I should note that the chips (french fries) are not the best I've had, but the generous portions of the halibut more than make up for it.
