This has to be my favourite festival in Ottawa.

My mouth starts to water just thinking about the return of Rib Fest every year.  The location is perfect for people to enjoy right after work or as a lunch treat during the week.  It's also one of the few events that properly utilize Sparks Street Mall.

Bring cash as all of the vendors accept only cash and the meals aren't cheap (most are over $10) but they're very filling and you'll probably have some leftovers for dinner or the next day.

I don't know how anyone (who loves meat) can complain about the food here since it's some of the best rib and chicken cookers in North America.  I did hear one woman get quite mad last year after she waited in line (with a giant stroller) only to discover they don't sell salad or drinks at rib fest...

The drinks might be a bit of a surprise so either bring your own or you can find some places on Sparks that allow you buy and enjoy on their patios.  Some restaurants, however, don't allow you to bring the food in so make sure you check.

Expect line ups after working and even during work.  It's the best tasting festival in Ottawa!
