Split ended and needing a cut, a friend suggested this place after lunch. I just feel so welcomed whenever I go in there! I went for one cut with them and while waiting, I noticed an ad on their coffee table for gel nail polish, claiming that it's supposed to stay on your nails for up to 3 weeks. Three weeks?! I had to do it! I'm a regular there now for nails and I get my hair done every few months.
Oh! And they've got very reasonable prices for good quality work... and organic/natural products! -

This place is a gem in the Annex. The girls who work there are pros at making you feel beautiful from head to toe. The music is awesome. I don't know what I would do without the massage prior to every cut (you don't get it if you are getting color due to the reaction of the essential oils with the color.)
Jen is my girl but there's Angela and Francine as well who are both awesome.
If you are dissatisfied with your current stylist, book an appointment at InI and you will not be disappointed. -

In.i is a cute little salon on top of, yes, the Burger King on Bloor. Thankfully it doesn't smell like Whoppers inside.
I went here last summer for a stylist who is no longer at the salon, so I can't vouch for the other ones, although everyone I encountered was really nice. Apparently they have some famous hairstylist on staff (as I read in their media section) who you have to book several weeks in advance, but I didn't have to wait for my appointment more than a week.
The salon is small but well decorated, staff are friendly so it doesn't feel intimidating at all. My favourite part about my haircut here was the scented oil massage they give you before they cut your hair. When I was first informed that it is something they did, and yes, I had to put up with it, I just sat back and took it. And it made me SO relaxed. Aaaaahhhhhh. Definitely a good addition to the sometimes stressful hair cutting experience.
It's a great place to get your hair done with average prices for those kind of services, but I believe they only have a couple stylists on hand, so you might have to wait a bit. -

i love this place. i have been going there for a year now. the staff are friendly and not pretentious but they have style! the music is awesome (mainly reggae) and they always offer you coffee or tea when you get there. it's a relaxed atmosphere and they take their time but i like that because i always leave smiling. oh and they use the best products and more of the independent ones you can't get at a sephora type store. i've bought a few products there that have saved my life. (for example - mesh for curly hair, by icon). i saw angela the first time but now i see karen and she has been amazing. jen (the owner) trimmed my bangs once and i didn't have to say anything she knew exactly what to do. i highly recommend it.

2 HOURS TO CUY MY HAIR, WTF!
i saw this place in yelp and gave it a try. it's pretty good, worth a try.
Delayed appt. - i must say though that my appointment was delayed 30 min. they told me when i arrived. they left me a voicemail at home about 30 min. before my appt.
Too long - the major problem was how long it took to get my hair cut, WOW, IT TOOK OVER 2 HOURS. they only have one sink to wash your hair, wha???? WTF!!! still perplexed about it.
