This is one of the best places in the city for the modern urban parent to purchase stuff for their kids...well...let's be honest it would more be for the parent then the kids...but the kids will appreciate some day that their parents were cool enough to but them such beautiful, unique, and classic pieces rather them going to Toys R Us....

You can buy just about everything you need to furnish your child's room in style..Mid-Century furniture by the likes of Eames and Nelson..really cool wooded toys...the neatest doll house I have even seen...great books.."Everyone Poops" is an all time fave..and not everything is for the kids..they also carry a selection for Mom and Dad like dinnerware, office needs..super cool desk by Offi..and much more..

This store is one of the best reasons to go to Yaletown!

It's not often you see a man ecstatic about test-driving a turquoise fibreglass armchair rocker, but that was the recent scene at Inhabit, in Yaletown.   I just about about bought one because the price seemed so right, however a little birdie told me that the holidays are fast approaching and that I should wait.  I like the concept of the store.  No gimmicks, no loud displays, basically they let the product speak for itself and boy does it speak.. well at least to me.  Great selection of chairs, and excellently design umbrella stands, briefcases to die over, and half the store is devoted to kids.  Anything and everything that a modernist parent would want for their child....umm can I mention the silver baby sneakers... father like son/daughter!  Wasn't met with much from the sales staff, not sure if  they even grunted a hello.. guess thats why you only get 4 stars.

    another milestone 100 first...phewf!

Cool store, makes me wish I was a kid.  They have interesting toys, that are not 100% plastic.  Several of the items with Swedish design, have a slight IKEA flair, but it's of a very high quality.

Best of all they carry the Ugly Doll series here. These dolls are so funny.  One of them has 5 eyes, and a few of them have missing eyes.  They all seem to share the same triangular fang teeth.  Very cute!  I mean very ugly!

Inhabit is another one of my many 'gift stores for when you have no idea what to get the person'. In fact, recently, on new years day I sought after it to get some last minute post-Christmas gifts but was sad to see it not open.

The great thing about Inhabit is they have ranges of designer products. You can basically find something great for a house starting from kids toys and working all the way up to the most esoteric fancy bowls.

I often stop here if I'm buying for the kid who has everything or for uber-hipster parents who need some Japanese doo-dad for their child to impress the other mommies. I love fiddling with all the things here and finding the real gems.

My favorite thing I ever got here was a ruler shaped like a gun. There's just something satisfying in looking up from some well-plotted line drawing and fake firing the gun into the air.

For all the hip and cool designs you definitely are paying a higher price-tag, but I really do think it's worth it. You're getting ingenuity and quality design, which is more than you can say for most home products.

The inspirations behind Inhabit's products range from Europe to Asia and beyond, allowing for a collection of always unique home wares and children's toys, gadgets and furniture.

While half the store is devoted to the wee little ones in your life, be it your own or otherwise, the other half is akin to a modern museum, with cutlery by Philip Starck, espresso machines, dinnerware, bar ware and stationary, along with Eames chairs and the latest trend, the Eames rocker. A wonderfully unique store, great for gifts and your next baby shower!
