A while back, I removed a hard drive from my Mac and found out the hard way I need to "eject" it first. Almost dying from the fear I lost all of my iTunes music and a lifetime of photos, I searched and found a rainbow of hope and help in Sunnyvale called In The Moment Computing. I did not know them. But from the first call back from Lisa - I felt as if I was home. Lisa squared me away on an appointment and secured my beloved hard drive with a technician. Within a few days, I heard a symphony of sounds that went like this: "we saved your files, all of them." As I skipped down the halls of my job, I knew things were going to be okay. They saved my hard drive, recopied into a newer drive that works on my PC and on my Mac and assured me I would access it all. I did that evening and now count my blessings. If I had lost my photos, I would have lost precious moments and still memories of my life and my kids. Not to mention, recreating iTunes is a bitch, right? Well, suffice it to say, I have been back to ITM Computing for other things and I receive the same good customer service every time. ITM knows their expertise is an invaluable service to those of who know only how to surf the web but not how it actually works. :^) If you are in need of help to save your hard drive, fix that ol' laptop or anything else related to computing, I assure you ITM is the place to find that salvation.

One of PCs died last thursday. Wouldn't boot up anymore and machine is out of warranty so took it in to these guys on Friday afternoon. Monday got a call from them to inform me of the problem/solution and by midday the system was ready for pickup! Not only did they fix the boot up issue, but they also cleaned up my fans and interior of my case!
Extremely friendly, efficient and reliable! From the front desk to the techs it's all all around awesome staff. Will definitely be a repeat customer. -

I went here a year or so ago and hated my experience.
The backlight on my PowerBook G4 had gone out, and I went here to get it fixed because it had good reviews. Almost every time I got an update from them, the price was higher and they kept trying to get me to buy one of their refurbished laptops instead. I got fed up and said I wanted to come pick my laptop up. It turns out they don't even do the repairs there, they take everything to somewhere in San Jose. I had to wait for someone to bring it back to the office. When I got it back, the screws for the case were taped on in a little bag.
These people don't seem to have knowledge of Mac's. I took it to a Mac repair place on Stevens Creek across from Barnes and Nobles and got it fixed by people that actually knew what they were doing.Comment from Clyde L. of In The Moment Computing 3/10/2011

Clyde at In The Moment Computing was able to rectify a tech problem our office was having for over a year in one visit.
I am the office manager for a solo practitioner and we were having an issue with getting an iPhone synced with a work email account - it was completely unreliable. We looked through several online tutorials to see if there was a do-it-yourself option, but none of the tutorials worked. We went to the genius bar at Apple three times and they also could not figure out how to get the work emails on the iPhone. We also had another IT person take a look at it. No one could fix it.
We were completely frustrated and so we decided we needed a real expert. Clyde was able to resolve this issue after one visit to our office! He was amazing. Now the iPhone is synced with the work email after a year of frustration. It has made a big difference to our office and we are so grateful.
We will definitely use In The Moment Computing again. Thank you so much. -

Hooray for Clyde and company!
My poor old iMac decided to stop working a couple weeks ago and it's been well out of warranty for some time now. Well, rather than take it to the Genius Bar and take out a second mortgage, I gave In The Moment a call. They told me to drop it by and they'd take a look at it.
Yes, there's a $50 charge to have them crack it open and give you an estimate. No, that's not a lot of money when you're dealing with computer technicians. And they deduct it from the total charge when you pick up the finished product. Consider it a down payment. Not at all unreasonable.
So I needed a new logic board. No biggie. They called me the day after I dropped it off and gave me a ballpark repair price ($450 - $500). Here's a little sidebar: When I first got this computer, it had a bad logic board. WeFixMacs wanted $1200 to replace it. It turned out that this computer was from a batch that all had logic board issues, so Apple fixed it for free, but the point is that this same repair had been estimated at over twice what Clyde charged me. Did I mention that the total worked out to $475? Yes, exactly in the middle of their estimate range!
And the service here is excellent! Lisa is a most gracious hostess and there's always some sort of snack on the table. Vegetarian, no less!
And they're on Facebook. OK, that's not exactly new and exciting, but Clyde is a gadget junkie and loves to share the latest industry news and cool toys with his friends. He'll also answer questions if you post them on the wall. Seriously, you should friend him.

Frank rocks. Enough said.
I posted on Facebook (from my cell phone) that my computer crashed and I needed help immediately. I received two referrals instantly from well-trusted business colleagues, and they told me to call Clyde at In the Moment. I called, and they figured out a way to get Frank out to my office within the hour. None of the other places I frantically called could promise that to me.
I can't tell you the technical things that he did, but he basically rerouted my computer (which was acting as the server) to another computer that would be the replacement while my new system was built. My new computer was completed within a day, but I preferred to wait until Frank was available to come back out and reroute our systems. He also secured our backup drive and restored all of my bookmarks. It sounds silly, but this was priceless!
As if the fast service wasn't the best part, I love that they offered an ongoing support solution for our office. They helped me with an online backup and quarterly support for our office of three.
In the Moment saved the day, and they are my only go-to guys for computer repair, networking, and support. THANK YOU! -

ITM Computing is a trusted resource for my business. My company depends on my computer, internet and website running smoothly 24/7. I depend on Clyde and his team to help me. They can fix anything! They've helped me with so many things; to restore data in a hard drive crash, set up a new computer, helped get my website up, fixed my e-commerce issues for my website, and so much more. So cool, they can even do a lot of fixes remotely, where they access your computer from their office, minimal downtime and it's fixed just like that! ITM is awesome, they are well worth the dollars spent.

Thanks to Clyde, my computer has been cleaned up from every aspect. The system is running MUCH faster, and the programs that needed to be removed, that were wasting space were reconciled. Clyde is extremely professional, as well as fun to talk to. I HIGHLY recommend Clyde to assist you with your computer challenges.

Clyde and the ITM staff offer nothing but exceptional service to each of their clients. I am just an individual who utilizes their services approximately 3 or 4 times a year and they treat me as though I was their highest revenue client. They have worked with me late at night or
figured out a way to fix things for me when I wasn't even home. They go above and beyond superior customer service in so many ways.
When Clyde found out I needed training on Power Point, he actually tried to figure out a way I could receive training from one of his employees. He has shown me how to use my IPOD, digital camera and has been so patient in explaining so many minuscule things on my computer. I have never had a request that the ITM staff didn't find a way to help me with and I have been nothing but incredibly impressed with every level of service they provide. Clyde e-mailed me back and was apologetic for the misleading address--their mailing address. They corrected the address on Yelp (855 E. Kifer in Sunnyvale) and now let the customers know to call first. As a result of my being inconvenienced, they offered to fix my computer problem for free. That was very cool of them and demonstrated good customer service.

So after reading reviews on Yelp, I drive to 1030 E. Camino Real to get my PC fixed but find myself at a UPS store. I decide to go in and ask if a computer repair shop used to be located here. The UPS employee told me "No, but some computer guy advertises this address as his shop location. He has a [mail]box here but doesn't work here." The phone # takes you to a voice mailbox with no further info. Sketchy.
update: Clyde messaged me on Yelp, apologizing for my inconvenience. It seems that repairs are usually performed on-site and there is no "store front". To set up an appointment, call and leave a message on voicemail if there is no answer. -

I invited Clyde to my Coldwell Banker office in Cupertino to speak to the agents on the value of using social networking tools like Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter to market their businesses. ITM may be great for small businesses but if your personal computer needs fixing it may not be the best place. My laptop had a broken screen so I called the place and they said they need to take a look before giving me an estimate which would cost me 50$. I could use the 50$ towards the final repair. The lady called me and told me it would be 300$ to fix and they would charge for shipping and handling for the new screen as they did not have one in stock. I thought it was ridiculous to charge me for S&H. The repair was OK and my machine is working fine now but I ended up paying more than I would have at other places.

Clyde is a genious. He was able to resolve a problem that stumped others. While he was solving my problem, he educated me about a bunch of other stuff. Best of all, he was able to do it remotely. Just doesn't get any better than that! Thanks!!!!!

Clyde Lerner's business is well run and he is very attentive to clients. My personal experience was that I had an old windows computer, that had been gathering dust in my office for a long time. Since I could use another computer, I asked Clyde and his team to take a look at it. I live in Oakland, and his office is in San Jose. He arranged to pick it up when he was in Oakland, at a mutually convenient time. A few days later I was informed by his staff that the computer would not boot up. They offered to return the computer to me or recycle it in an environmentally friendly fashion. They also offered to do a quote for repair, but advised against it, because the cost of the repair was likely not justified, given the fact that the computer was a "dinosaur." I chose to have them recycle it, and they are taking care of it. Overall - a positive professional experience with efficient handling and no hassle. Full disclosure: a good friend of mine works for Clyde.
