What's not to like about in n out?
NOTHING.
Everything is so fresh here. I love the animal style fries.
I love my onions grilled on my #2.
I love that you can see them cooking your food while you wait in the drive thru.
I love the great service with a smile.
I love that they NEVER have attitudes here.
I love the low prices.
I can go on and on.
But in a nutshell, this is what all fast food chains should be like. -

When this In-N-Out finally opened, it was hit with me and my dad. We are here almost every Saturday. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly & fun. Food quality is excellent and constantly 5 star level.
Even when we visit on other days and with as many as a group of 6....always find place to sit and food is right on.
One small quibble.....they used to put coffee out, now have to get it like the shakes. -

I'm not a hater, but I will never give In-N-Out 5 stars until they get Onion Rings (cause I love Onion Rings)
Aside from that, this In-N-Out has a lot going for it. Always clean, fast service and they are very polite. -

Love this In-N-Out! Love the staff, love the fact that I can watch them make my food. Just try not to come here on a hot sunny weekend day, or even on a weekday after 5. You'll find yourself waiting in line for 10 min!

A Christian cult furthering their agenda through the reactionary concepts of "cleanliness" and "freshness." One look at the well-scrubbed predominantly white hyper-smiling employees tells you all you need to know about this chain's ideology. Who smiles when working a fryer? The white wholesomeness harkens back to an idealized '50s Americana which never really existed, only as a dream for racists and squares.
As for the food... I loved the smell of the burgers when I ate meat. I always thought the smell beat the taste. Now I settle for my love of the fries. They actually taste like potatoes. These days, I order the animal fries, a congealed mess of potatoes, fried onions, cheese, and special sauce goodness. My only issue is that the container is too small. I lament the finish line when I'm only two bites in. They should consider giving this non-meat eaters' go-to a size upgrade. For us, the fries aren't a side dish. They are the meal. Yeah, I know I could also order their so-called veggie burger. But it's only a cheeseburger without the patty. No no no! One thing vegetarians don't want to feel is deprived or somehow lacking. It's like a Rocky movie without Stallone.
For those that doubt my theory about this chain's religious extremist nuttery, simply check out the various biblical references on their paper products, namely the burger wrappers and beverage cups. For he so loved the world, he gave us his only begotten burger. -

This location is great! super clean and not nearly as packed as the one in national city. When you go inside, everything looks exactly like the one in Point Loma... its pretty spacious.
Service was good as well :) -

You can't go wrong with In & Out. :)
The service here at this location was reeeeeal speedy, but we had a SNAFU when our order was ready.
My boyfriend ordered a protein style cheeseburger (no bun) & they just gave us a regular bun -- No problem, I just told the girl who handed us the order & she completely was like "Um, no.. you ordered a cheeseburger." I clearly stated it & the girl who was taking my order repeated it back to me, but like... this beezy made it seem like it was MY fault that it wasn't done correctly. So, they took it back & brought us one without the bun instead..
Aside from that, it's a nice location... not too busy. :) -

You can never go wrong with this place, super affordable and very good. They need onion rings though haha. The shakes are solo good too. I always add chopped chilis to my burger.

Open until at least 1 a.m. every day. I usually order a 2x3 ketchup & cheese only or a #2 with ketchup & cheese only. Opt for the animal style fries & root beer float or Neapolitan shake.

ALWAYS: Combo Number 2 Animal Style with a Diet Coke
- Love that there's one located in our hood
- Sometimes even Yelpers have to take a break from all the fancy 5-Star restaurants and just sit down to a good ol fashion American Cheeseburger and a side of Fries
- My FAVORITE fast food burger joint!!!
- Always hits the spot -

This place is a great restaurant all-around.
the only downside of this place is that it's always super crowded, but the service is great and they always get out the food quickly, no matter how big the crowd! -

You cant go wrong with In-N-Out when it comes to a burger.
Do me a favor and remember this dialog:
"Hi can I order a number 1 with grilled onions, no tomato(i dont like tomato) and instead of regular fries can you make them animal style with 2 side packets of spread"
They should deliver. Because I want some now. -
Review from Nicole C.
This is always something I look forward to on trips to San Diego. One of the best burgers I've ever had. And THE best burger at a fast food place. I order a Double Double, no tomato, fries and sometimes a vanilla milkshake. Get a side packet of Thousand Island (which they put on the burgers) to dip your fries (I don't like ketchup). Not everyone loves the fries, but I do. Don't expect McDonald's fries at this place. The milkshakes are great here, too.
I chose this location to review because it's my favorite location. Never crazy busy. Great customer service. -

Oh heeeey, finally an In-N-Out with a decent drive-thru line. This location is in the heart of Eastlake and since its not that popular of a location, you can always count on the service to be quick and fast. I stopped by today, devoured my burger, fries and diet Coke. It was delicious, every single bite of the burger to the very core. Try stuff from their secret menu, the grilled cheese sandwich is super good and it's lesss calories because it has no meat. The fries are cooked to perfection, but the burgers ARE perfection.
Looking for a quick drive-thru In-N-Out? This is the place. -

Not as crowded as other In-N-Outs, which is always a plus. The secret is to wait or go before busy hours. Like always is always fresh!!!

I love In-N-Out! Definitely one of my top 5 burgers ever!
For years my regular order has been a #1 (double double) with a Dr. Pepper. Their burgers NEVER ever disappoint! Always making my tummy happy! Their fries aren't my favorite of all time, but I do enjoy them, especially when they're well-done. If you like the sauce in the burgers, ask for "spread" so you can dip your fries in them! I promise it's good! Their shakes are good too! I always order chocolate because it will always be my favorite flavor, but I hear the others are good too. If you're feeling adventurous you should try their neapolitan shake! It's pretty darn good too. If I'm craving their burger, but not super hungry, I order a hamburger instead of the double double, & it definitely satisfies me too!
This location is so close to home that it's dangerous! ..especially when I'm having those late night cravings for a burger & fries!
Great food! Great service! Happy customers! (: -

You are more likely to get a table at this In N Out Burger than any other in California: It's not near a freeway, it's in a dull shopping center and it's in the middle of nowhere.
For that reason alone, it gets 5 stars, the food is always great from location to location, but the seating is the thing that can either be great or be awful. -

Fast, considering it's In N Out. Everyone here is nice. The food is equal to the other In N Outs.
I can't even talk about it because I'm going to drive over there and have a burger. It's 9:30 pm and I'm on a diet. But I don't care because their #3 animal style ROCKS! -

Of all the in and outs i go to this by far my favorite one. I also think it is the newest one in san Diego ? Which makes it super clean. I love how big it is, and the people who work are nice. It also helps that i work right next to it so im always here.

I think it's all been said...but I'll say it too! This place makes a killing doing exactly what McDonalds did 60 years ago. Make a few things but make them well!
Fresh beef - revolutionary!
Fresh buns - magical!
Fresh potatoes - impossible!
Friendly service - outrageous!
Your options are simple, go grab some laboratory grown Hep B donkey/kangaroo burgers from the King and Macs - OR- you can taste fresh cut fries and beef from here. Only draw back? Get's busy around meal time. -

Boston, MA
Living in the northeast, the closest I've come to this place was my retail management project back in college. I wrote up 15 pages about the drool-worthy fresh beef chuck ground daily, hand-picked lettuce leaves, home-baked buns, and hand-cut and seasoned fries, while munching desolately in my dorm room on a McDouble and crying myself to sleep. Sigh.
During my recent short-lived visit to Chula Vista, I finally got to try it. Now that I'm back in Boston...I can't stop thinking about it, reminiscing every bite. I got mine regular and the bf gets his animal style, then we eat half of each. The two styles are so simple yet taste so different, each in their own delicious way...the crisp, give-me-bad-breath onions on the regular, the soft, near-carmelized ones on the animal style. Sigh. I'll be back one day.
PS- I just want to add that I've met the nicest staff in the world while eating at In-N-Out. The girls who wipe the tables, esp, always have a smile and a friendly ' hello' ... or is this just So. Californian attitude? Why cant we have some of that in the northeast!? -
Review from Dave W.
C'mon, it's In-N-Out. Is there anything I can say that is going to convince some average web user who stumbles upon Yelp that they need to try In-N-Out? Probably not. In fact, I generally try NOT to review large chain and fast food restaurants for that reason. Then why am I reviewing In-N-Out you ask? Good question and here's why:
- When discussing the best burger in San Diego, believe it or not, In-N-Out is relevant. Do they have the best burgers? No, but they do have the best FAST FOOD burgers anywhere. This distinction is important and is why In-N-Out qualifies for a best in class (5 star) award.
- As of December 23rd, 2008, a day which will go down in local folklore, if not infamy, In-N-Out entered the Eastlake market. All things in the world are now right. Forget about the economy people, In-N-Out is now three miles from my house. I can die happy.
- I braved the crowds on opening night to say I was among the first at this new location. I made it, and you know what it reminded me of? Every other In-N-Out I have ever been to. But again this is THREE miles from my house people. Three miles!
In conclusion, I love my animal style double-doubles and neopolitan milkshakes. Say what you will about Eastlake, and I know you will, but we now have the greatest fast food hamburger chain known to man! Deal with it!Listed in: And the best in class award…

4 stars because they messed up my last order. Ordered without cheese, and it came with cheese.
It's probably the only time they've ever messed up though. I guess I can't be too hard on them.
Oh man, that food is so good. It's made with the love of God, you know. -

By now everyone knows what In-n-Out Burger is all about. I just wanted to echo the thoughts of some of the previous posts.
Still haven't heard a valid arguement for a fast (emphasis on FAST) food burger restaurant that is better then In-N-Out.
PROS:
Same In-n-Out delivery; fast, cheap and always good.
I don't have to drive to Lemon Grove, West Chula, or National City for In-n-Out anymore!
Dine in/Carry out is fast
CONS:
Drive through is long.... I mean they're pretty fast but that line is almost always long. -

When it was announced to the community about a year ago, that the area was going to get this establishment, it was the talk of the town (at least, amongst my friends). Like it's sister stores in National City and Sports Arena area these have always been a popular Southern California favorite. To their acclaim, they have not disappointed (me).
One of the places I frequent when I want that "extra juicy, melt-in-your-mouth hamburger =) The burgers are hot, soft, tender and juicy (like a burger should be). If you wonder why it so good? Taste it. Freshness is the flavor =) The french fries are made once the order is placed. The conveniences of ordering in the restaurant *as a walk in) or drive through window (with eat-in-your-car or to-go options). I a signature service consistent with it's chain.
Price: An inexpensive burger; in my case, a cheeseburger (animal style). Did I mention you can get a combo meal (burger, fries, and a drink) for a relatively cheap price (approx $5).
Restaurant: Extremely clean and tidy. It should be because it always seems that they have 10 people working on every shift; regardless, to what time of the day or day of the week... and they always have something to do =)
Staff: All friendly and somewhat young (excited and motivated). Great workers =)
So, when you're in the area and want an inexpensive burger, come give 'em a try and see for yourself why I consider this one of my local faves =) Enjoy! -

I had a double double the other day and told my wife it was as good as a filet mignon. I hate to wait and this is one of the few things I would be willing to wait for. I recommend getting ketchup instead of sauce to save on calories and grilled onions.

I cannot believe they managed to squeeze an In'n Out in this little shopping center, but I'm oh so glad they did! Now when I get the 'urge', it's only a hop, skip, and a jump away!
These burgers are always satisfying and fresh tasting and are perfect with the fries and a chocolate shake (unless it's to go, in which case a BEER!)!
This location is nice, clean, and service is friendly and fast (of course)! The lines are not long at all at most times of the day, nothing compared to the good old days in Northridge when my roomies and I would get the urge at 1 in the morning after a long nite of cramming! -
Review from Lauren M.
I lost three pounds from eating here. But not because their food is high in fiber and low in calories!
I don't think I'll ever eat at this in n out again. I came here last Monday, ordered the animal fries and a cheeseburger. I didn't eat the entire meal because I felt sick shortly after.
Now I'm throwing up everything I ate from here to high heavens. Thanks in n out. I lost 3 pounds in the past couple of days and my tummy is now toned. But it's not the way to go! I'm sick in bed and can't even get up. Hence, I am yelping about it. -

They almost always screw-up my order at this location!!
The reason why I keep coming back... convenience, friendly service, and absolutely delicious burgers & fries! Order grilled onions and light spread! They will put a large heaping of thousand-island type dressing if you don't specify otherwise.
Perfect meal: Double-double w/cheese, animal style fries (please don't be a glutton, split this w/someone!), and drink of choice.
You can also get the shake w/all three flavors - choc, vanilla, strawberry.
To shave some calories.. go with Protein style (burger wrapped in lettuce sans bun) and ask for one slice of cheese if you're ordering a double-double.
Anyway, all in all In-N-Out has great tasting food & shakes if you don't know already. The best bang for you budget when it comes to burgers is here!
Enjoy! :) -

Honestly, I like eating at this In-N-Out than the one in National City because the tax rate is higher in National City. Call me cheap, but I care about that one percent difference. The tax rate in Chula Vista is 8.75%, while in National City it is 9.75%.
Overall, the quality of the food is the same. I just wished it were a bit closer to where I live. Driving here takes about 20 minutes versus going to National City is about 15 minutes. I only eat here if I am around the neighborhood. -
Review from Quay A.
Today is the first time I have ever eaten In-N-Out in my house. I have never lived close enough to do this. It was always in the restaurant or in my car. We have been waiting for this place to open for months, driving by every other week to gauge their progress. Ah, double double w/cheese protein style with grilled onions - I have dreams about this and now I am set for another stretch of time (comforted by the fact its just around the corner when I need it).
Positives:
The best fast food burger!
Brand new location.
Excellent service.
Negatives:
Busy (but this is the norm at any In-n-Out and they always deal with it well)
Since this is a brand new location every employee had a trainer with them to ensure everything goes smoothly. They make every effort to ensure that your experience there is quality! Congrats In-n-Out for your newest location, you have made some very happy people -

Double-double animal style for the win! Expect long lines every weekend as you would at any other In-N-Out joint but of course, the food here is always worth the wait.
