I've wanted a tattoo for years. But like many, I didn't know what I wanted and where to get it done. Those tattoo parlours that you can just walk into without an appointment, with all the terrible tattoo artwork on the walls freak me out. Seem dirty.

Finally decided on a design and started looking for an artist. Many friends recommended Imperial Tattoo, they had great experience with them. I checked out their artists on their Facebook page and decided on Joe, her work and style was very similar to what I wanted to get done.

Called for a consultation appointment, it took about two weeks to get into see her. We sat down, discussed what I wanted to get done and looked at samples I had found on the internet. She took the samples and we scheduled a second appointment to review the artwork. At that point, we decided on some adjustments and scheduled a third appointment to have the tattoo completed.

The final appointment was great, super professional and fast.

The studio is clean, modern and open concept. Staff are super nice, attentive and accommodating. A great experience. Joe was amazing.

I have been searching over two years for a Tattoo artists that was willing to take on the task of Asian brush art tattooing. After numerous forum & internet searching I came across a good friend that introduced me to a custom only tattoo boutique name Imperial Tattoo.

I have been to many tattoo shops and by car this one is the top notch from beginning to end. Although it takes 3 visits before your actual ink session. It's well worth the wait, travel time & money spend. They understand it's a life investment and that Inking is something permanent, they take the time to go through your ideas and ideas the artists has that can make that piece even more special.

Further more, with the recent crisis in Japan. With their busy schedule, they took the time out to organize a Red Cross fundraiser, where they accepted donations and gathered local Tattoo artists got together and painted portraits for a silent auction that they held at Black Dice Cafe. They were able to raise $4000.00 for the Red Cross. Great job by all.

For my next tattoo and any friends looking for custom work done, I would not hesitate to take them there personally. This is the type of business/people that I want to always support.

Please keep an eye out on my youtube channel "jdmculture" for my tattoo adventure.
