Hooray - I have found a new favorite takeout pizza place downtown!  And it's probably the best approximation of the taste of a New York pizza that I've tasted in Western Canada.

The place succeeds especially well with its cheese and its tomato sauce.  Maybe they actually use San Marzano tomatoes.  And the cheese reminds me of that used at DiFara and other NYC pizzerias that don't go for the buffalo mozzarella.

The pizza crust itself is rectangular and cracker-thin, which means that interior slices do not have any crust to keep your hands non-greasy, but you can always fold the slice up.  Exterior slices tend to have crispier crust than the inside, but the inside is not soggy. The outside crusts oddly remind me of the rice-flour crusts I've tried.

My only complaint is that this location closes a bit early.  The sign on the door may say 8PM, but I've seen this place closed at 6:30 previously.  Also, they do not have a website or provide a list of toppings/prices online.  But a large pizza with three toppings costs a mere $19 and should feed four or leave 3 people full.

Il Posto also serves slices, but they cost $3.50 each and are not very large.  I would recommend springing for a whole pie and keeping the leftovers.
