We had to get out of the claustrophobia that is Clifton Hill so we drove down the road to give my hubby his first IHOP experience.  I hadn't had it since I was 15 so this would be interesting.  I got the Smokehouse breakfast which was 3 scrambled eggs, kielbasa sausage, hash browns and 2 pancakes.  He got the grilled steak and onions with eggs, hash browns and pancakes.

The butter pecan syrup was amazing and the maple syrup was good too.  It was a little on the greasy side but it's diner food so...  The service was great and they actually asked if we wanted refills!! GASP!  I think it was around $40 WITH tip (a bargain, unfortunately).

Parking is on the right side of the restaurant, not in the attached hotel.  You can go to the light at Montrose, turn left and go back on the first left to the parking lot.

Fair place, nothing special.  Typical breakfast place in my opinion.  Its a popular place though, so expect a wait.  The place is also big, but a lot of wasted space it seems.  Service wasn't especially fast... slow even.  My food was good, I enjoyed it.  A bit on the pricey side.

Damn, did we really just pay $90 USD for IHOP?

Canadians are being ripped off.  Everything on the menu was at least double what we pay for it in the states.  The food was mediocre and I am sure the waitress was humming AC/DC songs under her breath while we ordered.  I can't understand why the place was packed.

Good food and fast service. There was a lineup but moved quickly. Prices similar to other breakfast food chains like Cora's. A little more pricey then I would prefer. I had the stuffed french toast combo which contained hash browns, 2 eggs, sausage or bacon and strawberry cream cheese filled raisin french toast. The meal tasted great. Meal came to 10.95 and coffee was 2.95 and orange juice was 3.50. Would recommend to anybody looking for something a little different as a regular meal would come cheaper elsewhere

One of the worst culinary experiences ever.  We were seated at a dirty table and had to wipe it ourselves.  I ordered a tea and the creamer curdled implying improper refrigeration.  Service was beyond bad, but what was really shocking was the food.  Before our food arrived I observed a table near us examining something that they had found in their water glass.  This prompted me to look at my own and I found that the cup had stuff caked on the bottom of the inside.  When we got our food we immediately found problems.  My cheese omelet tasted...off.  It was like the cheese was either  some type I had never tasted (is was supposed to be cheddar) or had gone bad.  The egg was also not entirely cooked.  We also were shocked when we discovered that a piece of my wife's bacon had a strand of hair wrapped AROUND it and across the pancakes.  It appeared to have happened during the cooking process, and was certainly not ours or the servers.  The server basically just said "Sorry about that".  I discussed it with the manager who apologized,  She promised that everyone working in the back of the house (kitchen) was wearing hair nets, so it must have come from the packaging plant.  The only problem here is that I had already been watching through the kitchen doors and could see that at least 3 kitchen employees plus the servers were not wearing hair nets and yet handling food.  I pointed this out and she offered to deduct the cost of the bacon from our meal.  I worked in the food service industry as management for about 6 years and know that the proper solution is to apologize, replace the food completely, and remove the cost of the entire dish from the bill...if not the whole bill!  It caused us both to loose our appetite, and we both ate less than a quarter of our food.  When I told her I didn't think it was fair that we had ordered food and both lost our appetites due to problems with the food...she offered to give us 25% off.  I told her that wasn't acceptable because I had no faith in their ability to ensure that the food would be safe to eat.  In the end I believe we paid for half of the cost of our food...which was ridiculous because we ate next to nothing.
