I tried the Ihop in New west the other day and it just wasn't the same so yesterday i went back for my usual saturday morning Eggs benny. yeah I know its a little more expensive then other places but its Ihop... Its got pancakes and stuff.
The reason I keep going back every saturday??? THE STAFF. They are awesome. Always attentive, and always cracking jokes or making conversation. I recommend these guys because they seem to really enjoy thier jobs, not like most wait staff who only give you decent service becuase they want a tip.
Go check it out and you won't be disappointed! -

This may not be the cheapest option for a breakfast spot but it is a pretty good option anyways. The staff are always friendly and very attentive. They will always make sure that your drinks are full and you have everything you need. The food here is always consistent which can be a problem with some establishments. If you sign up for their email list they also offer a free breakfast on your birthday (I think it is a set meal) and send you special deals like 2 for 1 and buy one get one half off. They also serve breakfast all day on top of their lunch and dinner menu if you so choose to have bacon and eggs at dinner.

Perhaps what some people would consider "great customer service" I consider annoyingly peppy waitresses. Perhaps what some people consider "amazing pancakes" I consider about on par with what I could whip up from a box of pancake mix. Perhaps what some people would consider a "good restaurant" I consider an irritating experience involving cold sides, mediocre pancakes and high-pitched voices that I might only put myself through if I was hung over and desperate.

What can I say about this place....It's an IHOP, meaning it has the same food as every other IHOP....I go because I have a weakness for their pancakes....so yummy with all that butter!!!!
This particular IHOP has GREAT customer service. Sara who was off for maternity leave for a while is back and she is FANTASTIC!!!!
Also...bottomless coffee...YES PLEASE! -

One good thing about this location is the vicinity to Metrotown and/or the surrounding pubs. Drink your beer (don't ever drive in Vancouver with over 0.05% alcohol in your blood stream---ie less than one beer-- 'cause if you get caught, say goodbye to your car) all night, then hop to IHOP for breakfast. The 7-11 is also next door for that Big Gulp to sooth that tummy if you don't want that breakfast.
This time however, I was not smashed. I came in sober wanting a healthy meal. I think I went over board. I tried their Simple and Fit scrambled eggs substitute, two bacon strips and two pancakes. I don't know...I should have stuck to the regular heart-attack special. I'm sure I'm now Simpler and Fitter, but that was too bland for my taste.
IHOP is a step above a greasy spoon restaurant with a huge menu of pancakes. Next time it is going to be back to aeortal clogging pancakes for me. -

Ah, the International House of Pancakes, aka IHOP. I love pancakes, it's almost kinda scary how much I love them ... when I get my own car, I plan to have a bumper sticker that says "I hop for IHOP!"
They serve breakfast all day long, so crazy pancake people like me can get their fix day or night. They give you heapfuls of food, so I'm usually stuffed before I can finish everything on my plate. I can't vouch for their dinner menu, but I can certainly say that if you're a pancake fanatic like me, you will leave Ihop satisfied. Pancakes, sausages, bacon, hashbrowns -- they're all good. And they always keep a bunch of different syrups on your table so you can try them out.
Service is usually fast and friendly, and the meal won't leave a dent in your wallet. It's a great place if you like cheap, simple comfort food and don't care about the carbs! -

IHOP is what it is. A step above a greasy spoon restaurant with a huge menu to boot. I love it, especially pancakes. I mean your at IHOP, you have to have the pancakes. Love their syrup too.
This location is very much like a diner. It is dependable to taste the same everytime you go there. They have monthly specials too like Strawberry French toast with whip cream, more a dessert than breaky.
Ihop is again a Vancouver standard. Lots of food. Prices went up a bit, but lots to choose from.Listed in: Chains: The real truth

Even on a busy Sunday afternoon the service was good and the food tasty. I had the stuffed french toast and a HUGE mug of french vanilla coffee (It was topped with whipped cream!) The boyfriend had the maui-style crunchy shrimp. Our food was good but not amazing, and I have to say the eggs and sausage that can with my french toast was a bit under cooked. Boyfriend didn't make any good or bad comments about his meal so I'll assume it was mediocre as well.

My bf took me the Ihop at Brentwood Town Centre to have breakfast before his hockey game. I've been to this Ihop before and the first time I was here, there were a lot of people...which was the same thing here.
The bf ordered the Breakfast Sampler: two eggs any style, two bacon strips, two pork sausage links, two ham strips, hash browns and two fluffy buttermilk pancakes, while I ordered the SIMPLE & FIT Spinach, Mushroom & Tomato Omelette With fresh spinach, mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese. Topped with diced tomatoes. I didn't read the fine print carefully that this didn't include pancakes. Okay it wasn't in fine small printing but I was so distracted everytime I go to Ihop because there are so many options to choose from that my eyes end up googling the entire menu but am not able to focus on the details carefully. I'm a big fan of omelettes, especially the ones with mushrooms and spinach. It's so good that I practically faint just the thought of mushrooms and spinach. Don't ask me why, I'm odd like that. I was trying to decide between various omelettes i.e. Big Steak omelette, savory crepes of course with mushrooms i.e. Garden Stuffed Crepe or the Chicken Florentine Crepe, or the Pancake Combos i.e. SIMPLE & FIT Blueberry Harvest Grain 'N Nut® Combo Two Harvest Grain 'N Nut® pancakes loaded with blueberries and topped with fresh slices of banana. Served with scrambled egg substitute. See what I mean? I get so distracted with so many options.
Anyway, when the meal came, it looked like my bf had a better deal because there was so much more food while all I had was the omelette and a bowl of fruits. The bf's meal was nothing spectacular...I'm not a big fan of the white pork sausage links and the bacon strips were over-fried so I could even chew some pieces of them. Although I did like the mushrooms in my omelette, it wasn't as good as the ones that are home-made for me. The one at Ihop was a little dry, "tight" as opposed to "loose" and didn't have any pepper-y flavor or zing to it. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
Next time, I think I want to try the Big Steak Omelette: Tender strips of steak, hash browns, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and Cheddar cheese. Served with salsa. Must make a mental note. -

IHOP is like Denny's melancholy older brother. Both serve up the same greasy breakfast fare, but IHOP feels just a little bit more depressing somehow. I suppose it's due to the lack of claw toy machines in the lobby.
Located at 5137 Kingsway, just East of Metrotown, IHOP #0311 in Burnaby is much like any of the other IHOP franchises I've visited. It's the kind of place that I find myself when I can't think of anywhere more exciting to dine. There is absolutely nothing remarkable about the Kingsway IHOP.
Saddled off a big commercial strip on Kingsway, this IHOP is clean, drab, and has ample parking. The wait staff are pleasant, and save time by dropping off a big thermos of coffee on your table rather than coming back to refill it. You have to hand it to IHOP - they know breakfast. The food comes fast, and the syrup is already on your table (yes, all four varieties of it). When you are ready to pay, just pay at the front counter- don't bother waiting around for your server to coddle you. On weekends, every ounce of efficiency helps, as this place gets packed.
Menu selections at IHOP are far from exciting. While the kids menu does feature a pancake with a large happy face on it - other items simply leave nothing to the imagination, and dinner and lunch specials such as the "Breast of Chicken" or "Tantalizing T-Bone" are best avoided.
Pancake plates don't come cheap - most cost upwards of $10 with tax and tip, and portions aren't exceptional. What your meal lacks in pancake quantity, it certainly makes up for in whipped topping. My plate sported a fine hat of whipped white stuff larger than a baseball. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.
There's always some sort of good deal going on at IHOP. Usually if you come early enough there's a $2 special. You'll also be able to rub elbows with a lively assortment of aged local characters that hit up the 'HOP early. -

This is a great location with almost all great staff. The only problem is the TERRIBLE parking, even when the place is not full you can barely find a park. Also it gets pretty busy early mornings on the weekends but overall it's worth the wait.
I would go to this location over any other one I've been to in the lower mainland.
