Review from Beverly W.

have been a longtime customer of this takeout place near Vancouver General Hospital. I believe they have the best tasting California rolls that I have ever had. I really love the masago that goes with the rolls.
The lunch combos are decent. I have also tried the tempura udon which is good. Dynamite rolls are also tasty.
Expect moderate lineups during lunch time when nearby employees come here for takeout.
Overall, a wonderful place for sushi! -

Good food at reasonable prices. Not always super fast service so call ahead to place your order if you have a short lunch hour. Great deals on the bento boxes. Grab takeout from them all the time and I've never had an issue with freshness. Not gourmet (not a date place) but it's reasonably priced sushi if you live/work in the area and need your sushi fix.

Fast sushi i can grab and run appeals to me for some reason because I stop here regularly (i walk by at least twice a day on my way to/from work). I guess most people feel that because the roll is pre-made and ready to pick up it should be cheaper. They have a unique concept (grab and go sushi) so I can't really blame them for charging about the same price as any other sushi restaurant.
Faster (and healthier) than Subway, Wendy's, McDonald's, Timmy's or any other fast food place in the neighbourhood. They do quite a bit of business so for the most part the rolls, sushi and sashimi are quite fresh when you grab them.
If you want a sit down good japanese meal there are tons of alternate options in the neighbourhood (which i frequent as well). But I'm not going to compare them to other Japanese restaurants, because to me they're fast food.
My favourite is the spicy beef roll, followed closely by their dynamite roll. Not fine dining by any means, but more tasty and quicker than the #5 meal down the street.Listed in: Good Japanese Restaurants

This place used to be my favourite quick stop and go sushi craving-fixer.
no more.
even their spicy tuna (which used to be my favourite) has just gotten icky.
The quality has just gotten works over the years and the prices have consistently gone up. At 3.75 a maki roll I'd much MUCH rather go to a restaurant- the price is comparable, if not cheaper, and the quality is much better than what this place has become.
Don't bother going here- EVEN if you are in the area- try Ebisu across the street (near the bread garden). It's the best in the broadway cambie/oak area. -

This place is going downhill. I wouldn't even bother going here unless you work close to this place and you're too lazy to find another place.
Their California rolls are their best creations and the rest are just blah. I wouldn't eat their cooked dishes because they are again blah - lack flavour, small portions except the rice - go figure and burnt potstickers to the point they're almost black. I ain't eating tar. They should be kinda embarassing because exactly across the street is Tojo's. -

They are super quick and right by the hospital, which remains in the favor, but yesterday I grabbed one of their to-go rolls and it was ... Not Good. The salmon tasted a bit ... off. The Calif and veg portions were fine, but it was about the same as the pre-made rolls you can get in the hospital cafe. So, no need to run down the street, if time is short.

The comfort food is better than its sushi. Try the katsu donburi it is very good, I think the cooks they have used over the years were from street food and noodle stalls not sushi restaurants so they need the auto mould to make sushi but put together a perfect katsu don. .
