Delicious and entertaining! We have been going there for years and have never had a bad experience. I recommend everything on the menu but if you are lactose intolerant like a friend of mine let the chief know before he starts cooking so he can separate your food from the food he puts the butter on. Also if you order drinks at the bar before you are seated they won't seat you until your bill in the bar is taken care of. Apparently people skipped out on bar bills in the past so they put that rule into place. It makes sense but it took them an extra half hour to seat us because they didn't have cash in their till at the bar.
The only downside I can think of is the bathrooms. They don't have their own they share with the rest of the building and they are disgusting. They are not well kept and I really wish they would put in their own. -

What a great place! You must go when in town. Great food, great service! Very satisfying meal, feels healthy as well. Great Japanese beer to go along with your great Japanese food...chef's put on a good show cooking at your table as well.

I have been going to the Ichihan for over 20 years. This is a very consistent restaurant. Food is prepared in front of you. Chefs do a little show and most of them have great personalities making the experience quite a fun night out.
I definitely recommend this retaurant. If you're in a group do some Sake Bombs. -

I haven't been to Ichi Ban in a long time and we were in town and decided to take our whole family to this restaurant. We didn't even get a chance to eat their food. We made reservations for 7pm and arrived at the restaurant, we were then asked to wait in the lounge. 25 minutes later we asked if we were going to get our table, No, the hostess said, it'll be another 15 minutes. By that time we got upset and spoke to the manager. The hostess was rude and the manager said it would be another 30 minutes as a Chef was away and offered us free appetizers. We were so hungry and couldn't wait any longer for our reserved table that we left.
