I love this place.  Food comes quickly, it is nice and quiet, prices are reasonable.  It is definitely worth checking out.

Great little restaurant in a quieter area of downtown. Plenty of space if you're bringing a group, reasonably priced and great service.

If you're looking for a break from the pizza and sub shops within walking distance, but still want some opportunity to people watch, I Love Sushi seems to be nestled in a nice spot with a good view down Argyle.

I Love Sushi popped my sushi cherry. I mean, I'd eaten it at pot lucks and tried (and failed) to make it myself, but I hated it every time. Determined to fall in love with sushi, I popped into I Love Sushi one day after the Farmer's Market and sat myself down at the bar. I ordered an avocado roll. A mysterious but pretty green lump was served with my roll. I'd heard of wasabi, but obviously hadn't heard any "wasabi stories." I shoveled the whole thing in my mouth and, well, you know the rest.... I hit the bridge of my nose a lot, tears streamed down my face, and I basically tried to make sure nobody noticed my dumbass move. This was probably 8 years ago.

I like the sushi at I Love Sushi a lot. It's not my favourite sushi in the city, but for a vegetarian, they have a couple of great veggie sushi combos which some sushi places lack. Also, the Tofu Curry Don is a shared favourite between one of my best friends and I. In fact, a couple of years ago, the owner said he'd give my friend the recipe if he'd just order something else for once! I wish he'd gone for it. That sauce is mysterious and to-die-for. Other must-tries at ILS are the veggie  sushi pizza (big ol' chunks of avocado and sweet potato on a warm rice crust with a delicious sauce!? How could you possibly go wrong?) and the seaweed salad.

As much as I like the food, I also like the vibe. It's quiet (unfortunately for the business), and the staff are unimposing, incredibly kind, grateful, and just plain cute. I Love Sushi is a perfect choice for a pre-movie dinner, an afternoon lunch, or really anytime you want to eat sushi in an environment without a bunch of clamouring and having to listen to pretentious sushi talk.

A great spot on Blowers Street at the end of Argyle.  Large windows at the front of the shop allow you to eat your grub and people watch.  Very clean and bright, friendly staff and the price is on par with the other dozen or so sushi spots in town.  Their lunch & dinner specials seem to have very good prices, tough I have not partaken... yet.
They have a couple Japanese curry dishes, but I must admit I was a bit disappointed when I ordered, it wasn't the think stew-like curry you get in Japan, but more like a curry sauce on pork or chicken.
Presentation is nice when served in traditional looking table ware.  The sushi is good, but not mind-blowing.  The "don" rice dishes have a bit to be desired, they didn't use "sticky" rice which I have come to love (easy for the chop-sticks!).
Not wheelchair accessible and no wi-fi.

If you are looking for a quiet place with tastey reasonably priced sushi this place is for you.
I've been a few times and each time have been one of the only tables occupied. Service is good and prompt without being in  your face.  Are there better places out there?  Sure.  But if you're looking for a quiet, hole-in-the-wall type of place then I Love Sushi is right up your alley.

I'll always remember I Love Sushi as the first spot I actually tried sushi. Moons ago, I opted for the not-so entry level platter, and it wouldn't be until a few moons later that I'd give the cuisine another try. Since then I've developed a taste for it, although not my favourite, I do stick to salmon, veggie and shrimp sort of combinations.

This is a quiet spot to munch down, with traditional decor and a timid but sweet staff to serve you. They've got all the standard sushi offerings, with miso flavours and warm sake goodness. Its a lovely environment to relish in the glories of your food, with great flatware and soothing presentation.

Not my favourite spot, but I certainly enjoyed my experience at this tiny side street locale.

I hadn't been here in years, but the previous experience had been good, so I tried it again.  I ordered the salmon skin salad, but now the advertised jalapeno dressing is no longer available.  The ginger dressing substitute was not as memorable, but not bad.  The yam tempura sushi was OK.  But the fruit flies were awful!  Also the solitary large fly that kept buzzing around the window beside me.  On the floor was discarded paper trash.  All of which made me wonder how clean the kitchen was.  Even the food was passable in taste, I couldn't enjoy my meal.  My server kept asking how everything was.  I said OK except for the flies (I couldn't bring myself to point out the floor).  She seemed sweet, but was helpless to remedy the situation.

Certainly not the best sushi I've ever had, but not the worst. It was also the first I ate in Halifax, introducing me to the fact that you pay a lot more for sushi here, regardless of quality.

We were the only people in the restaurant while we ate, which unfortunately meant no entertaining people-watching. Our waitress was nice enough, but overall we had an uneventful meal. If needing sushi on Blowers street again, I think I'd check out one of the other two nearby places instead of returning here.
