Ideal coffee has been a lifesaver for me! As  a  new mum, I need to get out of the house sometimes. Granted it's easy now but when the baby was really little, I relied heavily on this place. Accessible with a stroller, roomy, and I haven't even gotten to the good stuff.

They make an outstanding latte for THREE dollars. Three. The brownies I think must be made with crack. I cannot go a few days without one - or that was before I discovered their scones.

Fly in the ointment? They're selling. The owners are moving to Costa Rica (what. ever) and are looking to sell the business. I only hope whoever buys can match the unbelievably delicious baked goods.

Oh! And one more thing. The staff are all fantastic. They let me wash dropped baby toys in their sink. They play really good music. (Someone likes jazz there.) They are so kind and friendly and funny and smart.

    Gotta go, the baby awakes.

Amazing. Double Americano for $2. Yeah right, right? And, I've never had a better one in Toronto. No, not even @ Hank's (but hey, still good.)
Apparently they roast their own beans. Oh, and they just sold the franchise. Fingers crossed the new owners are coffee-whisperers too.

Nice atmosphere. Good coffee. Only problem I had was their wifi didn't work.
Oh, and cool counters made from doors and pieces of cabinets!

this location is by far better the one vs. the one on nassau street. havent yet visited the one on ossington.

these are my reasons why:  firstly, this place has space!  i can sit comfortably on bar stools overlooking the street or stare at the paint splattered on the bar itself and wonder how it got there, wonder how it likes living underneath the varnish that makes it gleam.

i can swerve around and decide to sit on a large victorian couch that faces a faux fireplace and stare at the black and white photos that sit on the mantelpiece.  i could get closer, stare at the black and white people in the pictures and wonder if they are related to anyone who owns this coffee shop or were they just bought at one of the cool antique shops on queen east.  i might want to not wonder about much at all, but prefer to work on my computer at a simple sturdy table.  well thats possible too.

i could also wonder how the hell they get their milk to be so rich and frothy.  but i didnt.  i asked.  and so it goes that they use organic homo milk - the only way to go.  that plus their coffee makes for a great espresso drink.  most of their pastries use organic products as well, as per the woman working there. plus if you didnt know already, they roast their own coffee beans, which means a fresher taste.

what i found peculiar then, is that i received my organic cappucino in a styrofoam cup.  what the h, i say.  other than that, ill walk the 25 minutes it takes me to get there, to know that i can park myself there as i please, surf the net for free and enjoy a great drink.
