Want to go through one of those automated carwashes? Sure, they're super fun and you can pretend that you're in some lost underwater city, but it also costs $11 and the ride is way too short. And with the dirt this city's been accumulating over the last few months, your shiny car will only stay that way until you hit the road again 2.5 seconds later.
Yeah it's serve yourself, and yes there may be a bit of a line-up (pro tip: don't come on a Saturday afternoon), but it's totally worth it to clean your car top to bottom for a paltry $2. Plus, you can pretend to be a fireman while you're at it and play with the hose.
Need to clean your car just a week later? (Probably.) It'll cost you less than your morning coffee. Bueno!Listed in: On the cheap, Good Ol' Old Strathcona

I was so happy to find this place so close to home. I love self car washes because you save so much money!
However, I hate waiting in lineups at Hughes so this place is my new favourite car wash!
I was able to wash my car for $5 and we did a very thorough job. It was also open at 7pm on a Sunday. That was a bonus!
I went in to pay (I also got gas) and the guy working was very nice. He smiled and made a little chit chat with me. The shop appeared to be pretty clean and organized too.
The car wash itself was great. It was your typical self-wash. Very easy to use, no problems at all. There are only 3 or 4 bays though so if it was really busy, I could see there being lineups. I've never seen one there though.
If you live nearby - use Husky!
