Hudson House is the first place we go every time we go to Vancouver. Siraj and Lily, the owners, have the most unique inventory and friendliest hospitality. Don't miss it.

OK, few people may know this, but maple syrup IS produced in parts of Canada besides Quebec. Western parts. Like, B.C.
Having said that, there quite a few places to buy real, bona fide Canadian maple syrup in Vancouver. For example, Hudson House Trading Co. Ltd. in Gastown.
The store stocks different sizes of maple syrup you can give as gifts or keep yourself to use on pancake day (usually a Sunday for me).
And here's a cool little piece of trivia about the store: It is actually the original location of the Hudson's Bay department store in Vancouver! Now THAT'S Canadian, eh?! -

I got some maple cookies from the Hudson House Trading Co. and having had some maple cookies prior from Canada, I must say these were quite good (or maybe I was just really hungry?). This store has a huge variety of all kinds of Canadian goodies and souvenirs galore. I did see their impressive display of maple syrup but did not venture purchase any because at the time I didn't know what I would do with it or what if it spilled in my luggage.
All fears aside, a nice little visit. -

My savior! The previous yelpers are correct a quaint little shop with authentic Canada items including official Vancouver 2010 Olympic items.
Attention because the other place you know the super store lies and tells you no one in the city sells the stuff.
I thought this place had a better selection and was in a great location. I guess though if the secret gets out it will no longer be the same. Forget everything I just said! -

Hudson House carries all sorts of Vancouver related gifts and not just the cheapie crap that you find in a lot of touristy stores. They've got a lot of maple syrup and food items like smoked salmon. They also have some decent quality clothing items.They've got ornaments, jewelry, Native crafts, books, and toys. If you buy over $300 worth of merchandise, they'll ship it for free within Canada and the U.S. Perfect if you are a tourist and don't want to have to pay the extra $25 for your excess luggage, which these days can mean your second suitcase full of souvenirs.

I found some great souvenirs here to take home: Icewine Dark Chocolate, Inukshuk Blueberry Icewine Tea, and another type of Icewine Herb Tea. I also got some classic inlaid wooden bookmarks for those folks on my list that READ, go figure.
