One of my all time favorite restaurants. Whenever I come back to Vancouver from Virginia I always go straight here. This place is wonderful, cheap, family ran, and a little hidden gem.
Get the large spicy noodle soup. So yummy. -

Only ok. Not sure what the hype is about. Noodle soup was good but not the best i've had. Place is super tiny (has about 4 tables).
Had the shanghai shiao long boa (pork soup dumplings). They should take these off the menu all together as they shouldn't be selling it! The worst i've ever had in the lower mainland (only other one that was even worse was in florida...although it's unfair to compare since there's an abundance of asian restaurants here and not in miami...although it was the restaurant of a famous dim sum master from HK). Why was it so bad? One of the smallest dumplings i've ever had. And of the 2 baskets with 16 dumplings total NONE of them had any soup in them at all. They were probably over cooked where the juice exploded out?? That's the only explanation i can think of. -

One word. YUM
this place is awesome, a small family restaurant good home made beef broth noodle soup is good when your craving for something light. My boyfriend introduced to this place the first time I ate there it was like love at first sight joking almoSt. I usually come here fir the beef noodle or the crispy pork on the side. Cheap and affordable. The portion is prefect for me not too much or too little.
Another favorite family joint restaurant for me. -

My partner and I were driving up and down Victoria Dr. looking for an udon joint but we ended up at this hole in the wall. We were hesitant to go in even though we saw a couple of occupied tables. After doing a quick Yelp search on our reliable gadgets, we went in. Based on the previous reviews swritten, this place looks promising.
The eatery seats only 22. The co-owner, a Taiwanese woman in her late 30's, was not all that polite. My partner and I took a peek at the menu and decided to "give this place a try" so we ordered a spicy beef and noodle soup.
We didn't wait too long for our order to arrive. The beef broth was good. I find it a tad too salty but the chili oil definitely gave it a kick. The noodles were cooked al dente which in Taiwan this rarely happens. But I must say the noodles were fresh, and none of that dry pre-packaged noodles. The type of beef was used correctly BUT, the meats should have been cut in chunks and not in slices of 0.3 to 0.4mm.
Again, I think the noodle soup isn't bad (I'd give 3.75 out of 5) but I don't think I'll order the same thing when I return. My love for beef noodle soup still belongs to Flavor Eats in Crystal Mall (food court). I'd come back to this joint and try their deep fried tofu and amongst other things.Listed in: Chinese Food, Taiwanese Food

This is a great little noodle house.
Limited menu, but what they do, they do well.
Cheap, cheap, cheap!!! Generous portions.
Spicy wontons to start. The lady warned us they were spicy and THEY WERE SPICY. I got hiccups and flames started shooting out of my mouth.
Honey had the beef noodle soup. He couldn't resist seeing as we were at "Huang's Beef Noodle". As expected, they make an amazing beef noodle soup
I got the Deep Fried Pork Chop Rice. Deep fried pork cutlet on the side, with a generous bowl of rice with veggies. Very Satisfying!Listed in: Food Porn, Victoria Drive

I've been coming here for probably ten years. My favorite hole in the wall joint for Taiwanese noodles. Family run, feels like home made food!

Seeing as Huang's is probably the closest Taiwanese noodle restaurant in my immediate vicinity, I thought it was worth a try.
I had the spicy beef noodle soup and an order of xiao long bao. The portions for the noodles is a tad on the small size, so if you're a big eater you may want to upgrade to a large for $1 more. For me, it was more than enough.
I found the broth to be not spicy at all, but I thought it was quite tasty. The noodles are similar to udon, but maybe a little bit thinner, and they were nice and chewy. I felt the meat was flavourless, so I wasn't a huge fan of it. The XLB were small and probably frozen, not fresh, but even for frozen XLB they weren't as bad as some I've had. I probably wouldn't order it again though.
The service was lacking a little. The woman who took our order was all business and didn't exchange any pleasantries (I'm not sure she cracked a smile once). When she brought our food, it was unceremoniously plopped onto our table without a word.
Overall, a decent restaurant and it certainly satisfied my stomach. -

This is best hole in the wall noodle restaurant and seriously it's the Taiwanese Beef Noodle that truly hits the spot for me. There have been a trend of many "Beef Noodle" Taiwanese restaurants popping up around the city but in 8 years, this is still the place that no one has come close to for me. I may have cravings for other kinds of noodles in broth - say Vietnamese Pho. But when craving a beefy and spicy noodle, this is the place.
To describe it - the beefiness and the spiciness are combined so well together it's like the spice is infused in the beef broth. At other places it's like the broth is beef first, followed by adding the spice to it which makes it more beefy than spicy. I guess this positive review is for the person who likes the heat. Also the broth consistency is good till the last drop.
I'm not able to give a review of the rest of the menu since I've never ordered the rice dishes, but this little place sure gets packed on the weekends and sometimes I'm in the minority getting the noodles, which must mean their other dishes are pretty good too. -

One of my favorite places for Taiwanese noodle soup. I particularly like the fried pork chop noodle soup and deep fried tofu.
Like others have said, this is a hole in the wall with a few tables. I have had to walk away a couple of times because it is busy. Watch weekdays around noon as there are kids from David Thompson High who go there for lunch and there could be a wait.
Service is friendly and quick. The lady who runs this place will recognize you and order for you if she sees you often enough. Now I don't even have to see the menu!! :o)
You may see me on a weekend around lunch time!! -

* Really solid Taiwanese *
This is a classic hole-in-the-wall. There are perhaps 6 tables, a little counter, and a single woman serving.
The menu is very straightforward Taiwanese including all of the usual suspects like beef noodle soup, pork chop, pig ear, chili cucumber, chili wonton, Taiwanese fried chicken, meat sauce on rice, etc.
I had the spicy beef noodle soup as well as the chili wontons.
The chili wontons were very tender thin skin, nice pork filling, and a spicy chili oil mixture. There wasn't as much sesame paste as I would normally like, but it was a good dish.
The spicy beef noodle soup was very good. The beef was nicely marbled and very tender. The veggies were cooked perfectly (still slightly crispy). The noodles were the flat type and had the perfect chew. They held up well and didn't fall apart even by the end of the dish. It was also topped with some pickled veggies which rounded out the complex broth.
The tea provided was a nice one as well. Service was very friendly too.
Overall a very solid Taiwanese hole-in-the-wall. I'll be back! -

Best beef noodle house ever imo!
The texture of the noodles make it seem like it's home made. Whenever i come here i always get the spicy beef noodle soup along with their fried dumplings and green onion pancakes! It's excellent value too.
One downside is that the place does look dingy and run down, which could turn off potential new customers. -

Best Taiwanese beef noodles, IMO.
I've eaten here probably over 30 times, more than half those times alone. Have introduced many friends to this place, too, and some of them eat here on their own time, too.
Bring a book, newspaper, or grab one of their magazines and read and eat.
Menu is small and basic, and the server is nice, doesn't bug you.
I was first introduced to this joint roughly 10 years ago and since then I only eat Taiwanese beef noodles here. Others can not compare - not even beef noodle joints in Taiwan.
The only place where I will drink beef soup, and I'm not a meat eater.
$5.95 for spicy beef noodles (I get without the beef). Noodles are between fettucine and linguine size but doughier.
Deep fried tofu, chili cucumbers, and the noodles come to around $10 or $11, I forget.
Many times whenever I've visited Vancouver, I pick up my rental car and drive here for my first meal at any time before 8 PM.
On my next visit I will probably come here for my first meal, and my last before I leave for the airport. But of course.
