I don't get the HS retail concept. I still drop in to see what's on the racks, but it's so little or sparse, I get the feeling that if you're not really into Hugo Boss or J. Lindeberg you don't belong in the store. I used to buy from this store all the time when it was a Henry Singer, but now that it's an HS, I can't remember the last time I actually bought anything.
Maybe the Singer group wants to drive people in my demographic to their Manulife Centre store, which still makes sense to me, but I don't work downtown and it's a hassle to get to. I mean you have to go downtown to select a suit, then come back to pick it up after tailoring. I'd much rather get a suit at WEM, but I just can't any more.
As a result, I just don't buy much from Singers any more. They probably got 80% of my suit budget before all this HS and Henry nonsense. Now, that's all gone to Eddie's Menswear. -

One of the few men's-only clothing store in the mall, but also a pricey one at that. This is place is not where one would go to if you were on a budget. If you get past their prices, you get some very nice clothing for any dress-up or dress-down occasion. They have some nice clothes from Hugo Boss, Victorinox, Lacoste, J Lindeberg, 7 and other premium brands. This store is tailors for the modern young urban professional, assuming they all have a lot of money.
For a premium clothing store, I would expect the service here to be much better. It feels like I need to dress with a suit and tie in order to get someone to help me, otherwise they won't pay attention to you at all. I remember browsing through their selection once for 15 minutes and no one ever even asked if I needed help...I actually wanted to buy something that was on sale too.
I still cannot get past their ridiculously high priced clothing. They do have some sales which can bring the price down to a 'reasonable' level, but you're still not getting a deal. In combination with their poor customer service, I tend not to go into this store very often. -

You know, I've been to this store so many times and I never knew what "HS" stood for until now. Thank you, Yelp!
It's rare that you find a men's only store, especially one at the West Edmonton Mall.
HS carries high-scale brands (the Hugo Boss and Lacoste's of the fashion world), so as you would expect, the prices are ski-high. I only pay this store a visit after I've just gotten a paycheck.
And Tim is so right, the staff don't seem to help you unless you look like someone important, or someone big pockets. Maybe if you waved a $20 bill in their faces then they would pay attention.
