I absolutely enjoy their restaurant; the dragon fly!
We went there on a Thursday night and the crowd was more laid back. Saturday night was very different, they had a dj playing at the pool and the crowd was vey diverse and fun!
If looking for a loud fun night out go on a Sat but if looking for a quite night out during the week is best!

Bring in da noise and bring in da fun! (note: i didn't say funk. no stinkiness here.)

ZaZa's got 'tude dripping from its bejeweled lobby and coming out of the celebrity-painting-covered walls. How? Let me count the ways:

    - The rooms are unique, huge, and super entertaining (i loved the quote on the window between the bathroom and the bedroom. yep window.).
    -The bed was unbelievably comfortable
-The giant couch on which to plop and chillax was a wonderful addition too.
-I want to take that shower stall and the shampoos home with me. ( I mayyy have done the latter of the two - don't judge me.)
-The staff was friendly, the bar was fun, and the pool area sounded like spring break gone wild.

    A few ... tidbits:
*There's no coffeemaker in the room, apparently there's a coffee area somewhere on the floor. (i never found it).
*There IS an ironing board! This mysterious object, is hidden out of sight and under the bed. (No i did not see the minuscule sticker on the iron which explained that, until after the bed was my board, and i was putting the iron away).
*If you've got an early morning, ask NOT to be near the pool. Those iHome sound machines can only do so much...

    Otherwise,
Zaza was a great stopover for a girl on a business trip - and hopefully i'll be back for more.

First off, let me just say that when you walk in you feel like you might have just slipped down Alice's rabbit hole with the Cheshire cat. The ambiance is chic, elegant with a side of wild and sexy. I was in love with the sheer fact that they had candy everywhere you turned.

The hotel staff upon check in was very friendly. The decor was something I had never seen in a hotel and to be honest some of the pictures on the wall actually scared me. Thank god I was not on drugs as I think it would have caused a bad trip. LOL.
I got to my room and it was nothing short of uber chic. I loved the pillow on the bed "hey beautiful, we love ya!". How darling!!!

The food at the hotel was very good. I had mid afternoon cocktails with a friend and loved the ahi tacos. I do recommend. The restaurant (Dragonfly) turns into a nightclub in the evening and as a guest you automatically get access. It was a happening scene. Since we were there during the winter, they cover the pool with a floor and turned it into a dance floor. It certainly seemed like one of the places to be seen in Dallas and the music was great for dancing. I could not get over the mannequin who was perched on a wild bore as part of the art. Truly crazy decor!

I would recommend staying ZaZa if you are looking for a fun experience in uptown Dallas with access to a little nightlife and good food!

Zaza is a great hotel, just overpriced in my opinion. I have stayed at plenty of upscale resorts and boutiqu=y like hotels such as Zaza and I just thought $300 was a bit steep for what you got. They cheaped out on some of the fixtures and the bathroom was nothing special. It is a great location to eat at some fantastic restaurants though!

Shady shady operation, avoid like the plague. They tried to scam us on New Years Eve by adding a $500 bottle of vodka to our tab, by which NONE of us ordered. Its been basically 3 months of headache between dealing with my bank, and not getting ANY cooperation from ZaZa. Sad situation because we had a great time that night.

    Terrible customer service!

Last night we got a King Size suite at hotel zaza. Unfortunately. All we did was sleep. The room we got was very inviting down to the last detail. When you walk into the room there is a bathroom on the left. When you get into the sitting area there is a frame on the wall with writing on it in frost. I thought it was so cool that behind the frame was the shower door. Even the glass for that door was luxurious. I wanted to steal my pillow because it was the most soft pillow I had ever felt. Price was reasonable. Staff was friendly with the exception of the door guy at dragon fly. I will return.

    Oh Dearest Hotel ZaZa,

Loving you is easy.  I always seem to ride in the elevator with Jessica Simpson or other fun guests.

You stay classy and seem to update your decor frequently which I dig about you because It's always fresh and youthful

I love the fact that you have the keen Dallas Fortune teller Valentina and David in your Splendoriffic lounge area on most nights available for tarot card readings.

Your rooms are of a 5 star standard with fantastic bathrooms and really comfortable beds.

I really cannot promote you dear ZaZa enough and I reluctantly write this review as we really wanted to keep it to ourselves it was that good.

    Yours Truly,

    Mary S.

P.S. Sorry for the night when I was drunk and rolled around in the hallway with one of your big tall wooden statues.   And yes I dragged it on our room but returned it in the morning!

Okay. My experience with ZaZa is weird, hilarious and kinda cool all at once.

ZaZa is just one of those places that I can say fits Dallas like a glove-overpriced, at first a bit snobby, kinda tacky but with a lot of heart and charm. It is also unashamedly fun which I think is their biggest selling point and strength.

I first checked out ZaZa not long after it opened many years ago. I was dating a guy who would fly in on business and liked to stay there. From the beginning, I can tell you from experience that there is a weird air of snobbery until you went inside the hotel. The staff is absolutely amazing and super sweet (Wish I could say the same for valet. No one side-eyes my Scion). Also, the pictures you see on their website are dead on. I usually hate hotels because of the germ factor, but this place made me immediately forget about all of that. The bed was super comfortable, room was decorated nicely and back then, we did not have a problem bringing in outside drinks, which I guess is a problem now.

Fast forward to the next guy I dated and he was also an out-of-towner and surprise, surprise, liked to stay at ZaZa. Again, my experiences with the staff was awesome and valet was even nicer to me since I upgraded my vehicle. I never thought twice about the fact that I stayed in the hotel several times before including partying there for various private events. So this is where it gets hilarious. I was riding in the elevator with a group of very, very beautiful ladies and we were all making sure our makeup looked great and one of the girls looked at me and said, "I've seen you here a couple of times before." I smiled and said, "Yeah, I thought you looked familiar." And then she asked the best question ever, "So how often do you work out of here?" HA! She thought I was a prostitute!!!!!! So that is my experience of ZaZa. LOL!

    -Easy to find
    -Big bathrooms
-Not a good view of anything but a large crane :)
    -Awesome lobby
    -Great bar/restaurant
-Fun club - they freakin' put a dance floor on top of a pool with a lounge area
-Pretty elevators - yes, even that is pretty
    -Chocolates on my pillow
-Lighting - complete crap!  Where you're suppose to put on your make-up there is a massive overhead light - hello, with that light I will NEVER hide the damn bags under my eyes - no matter how much cover-up!  Plus, overall it's darker than most hotel rooms, which as a whole are bad
-Curtains are deceiving on in size - window isn't very big, curtains make them look like they are the entire wall
-comfortable sitting area in all the rooms
    -nice TV
-love the mini-fridge - baby bottles of patron - too cute :)
-security is tight - almost too much - felt as if I was being watched - hardcore
-found it silly that their 2 bed hotel room has 2 full size beds, not queens...Motel 6 has more space on their beds!

    COST TOO MUCH!

Beautiful, fun, and unique hotel.  We visited for a wedding, and besides the $63 pitcher of mojitos room service brought up that were made with lemon juice instead of limes, everything was phenomenal!  The catered food was delicious, and service was very polite.  We thought it odd that all the men at the table were routinely served first, but whatevs...
The pool is the place to see and be seen.  Loved people watching here!  We giggled almost the whole time.  Very fun!
The valet is on the ball.  Very polite and quick!  The complimentary shuttle SUV was veeeerrry convenient for getting to the wedding downtown and back.  We never waited very long for anything, actually!!
    Can't wait to go back!!

We had such high expectations of our stay at Zaza for my 20th year high school reunion. While the property is ideally situated and our balcony room was spacious and tastefully done, the surly security staff put a damper on our visit and as a result, I won't ever return. About an hour after we checked in and after I had left for my reunion dinner, my husband stopped at the convenience store across the street for some of his favorite Belgian beers as ZaZa carried less than stellar brands and was QUESTIONED and searched by security while re-entering the property. My husband was properly dressed and groomed and had just been greeted by security before he crossed the street to go the store. It was truly a bizzare spectacle and a mere taste of what was to follow.

I was so incensed by this that I called the hotel from my reunion and the operator acknowledged that outside alcohol was prohibited but that security should not have behaved so brusquely to my husband. I suggested that they mention this policy to their guests at check in as I had just witnessed some young women bringing in a bottle of wine with them at check in. That night we were kept awake until after 2am by the nightclub scene congregating around the pool below our room, but we understood that Zaza has a very Vegas like atmosphere and left it at that and enjoyed watching the scene from our balcony.

However, the following night a group of us were gathering in one of our rooms following our reunion in ZaZa's ballroom and were having fun catching up after all these years when security pounded on the door and demanded everyone leave the room. There were 8 of us in a double room at the time. My husband pointed out to them that we were all guests, there was more noise being made below at the pool and just about every other room in the hotel was throbbing with noise and music. The security henchmen insisted we leave.

I admit my husband was rather annoyed by their surly attitude and let them know it, but we returned to our room and while we were readying for bed the director of security pounded on our door. When I peered through the peep hole, security said they would call the police if we didn't open the door. Really? We are bunch of 30 somethings getting together for a reunion and we have spent thousands of dollars over two days in their establishment and they treat their guests like that? The whole situation was a travesty. When we asked why they were bothering us in our room they said " This is MY hotel and we got a call that you was making noise up in here all night so we're coming to investigate". We explained that we had been out of our room until this point.

When I called the front desk, they confirmed that security were actually mad at my husband for getting upset when they came to our friend's room. How ridiculous! We did not deface any property and were far less loud than several other guestrooms including the cacophony by the pool. Quite simply the thugs they hire for security have power trips and no concept of customer service. Meanwhile my husband and I couldn't get rest due to the thumping rap music from the room next to us. We called to complain and nothing was done. I mentioned again to the front desk at checkout how disappointed we were with their surly security guards and their brutish behavior only to be met with a shrug and was told "Well hopefully you enjoyed your stay until that point". That was the worst $1200 in two days I have ever spent!

I was even more dismayed the following day when I found out that the security guard who caused this whole debacle eventually returned to my friend's room to hang out with them once his shift was over. My friends even sent me a video to prove it. Lo and behold, there is the security guard sitting on the couch enjoying himself with MY friends while I was too scared to leave my room due to ZaZa's intimidation tactics.  What a shame for them as I could have brought them a lot more future business and referrals if they hadn't behaved like such ruffians.

This review is for those who want to have a party at Zaza. Beware!! I chose Zaza for my 21st birthday party, and I can't bring myself to give it more than three stars for my experience.

My parents and I got a lovely tour of the hotel prior to the party to pick out the room. Our guide, Meghan, was absolutely lovely, very informative and helpful. We were very upfront with her about the fact that we were planning a party and inviting about 50 people. The Last Czar suite, one of the Magificent Seven, fit my theme (masquerade) perfectly and we booked it for an AMAZING price. I was so excited.

Then the day of the party came. My boyfriend and I checked in, went to dinner downtown, and came back to find the master bedroom dimmed and candlelit with sexy music playing and condoms and candy on the bed O_O Awesome.

I brought a guest list to the front desk (as I had been told by staff to do to avoid crashers) and the receptionist looked at it and said, "How many people do you expect to show up?"....All of them. He said I was really only supposed to have 10 people up there. This made me nervous, but he said as long as we weren't noisy we'd be fine.

Back upstairs I found a bottle of champagne, beers, and snacks sent up courtesy of Meghan! So sweet. I wish I could have dealt with her the rest of the night instead of the douches at the desk.

As my guests arrived, they commented on how rude the receptionist and doormen were, and when I called downstairs and asked them, quite nicely, to please treat my guests well, they got snappy. Maybe I was supposed to tip them for telling my guests where to go? O_o

For the first hour I received at least three calls from the front desk getting nosey. "Do you have any alcohol besides the mini bar up there?" ...No *lie* "Is everyone there over 21?" ...Of course *lie* "Does that mean we can start carding people at the desk?" Wtf?! "Are there more than 10 people? Because if there are we're going to have to send up security and shut it down." Are you f**king kidding me?!

They were so rude! I called my mom in tears and she in turn called them and got out her Mama-Bear claws and had a good talking to with the manager. She called me and said he apologized for his staff and said he'd have them leave us alone (because, jeez, we weren't being loud and rowdy and didn't have any complaints made against us), but still, I was so nervous the rest of the night that my party would be ruined that I couldn't enjoy myself fully. By the end of the night I was the soberest person there (my 21st, for God's sake!) and ended up going to bed with a stressed-out stomach ache.

    So here's my scoring logisitics:

    +1 star for Meghan :)
+1 star for amazing decor, it really wowed my guests
+.5 star for the sexy bedroom surprise
+0.5 star for the best bed I've ever slept in
    -1.5 for crap-tastic receptionist
-.5 star for a badly cleaned shower (icky...) and some shabbiness to the furniture and wall paper

Choose Zaza for a romantic date night, not for a party. And if you do have a party, pack your alcohol in a suit case...the mini bar is at least 3x retail.

I stayed here during a recent business trip.  Great location for me, two blocks from the office, also easy to walk or take the trolley to other restaurants around the area.

Staff - Front desk staff were friendly and well dressed, reminds me of the W Hotel style.

Four floors - required you to insert your room key in the elevator for the top floor...of course that's the floor I'm on.  It got a bit annoying...but o well.

Large room - has a couch w/ a nice flat screen TV in the seating area...then the bed is nicely situated next to the big window...nice size bathroom also.

People that hangs out here tend to be the "beautiful people" crowd.  There were couple events that were held here.  People definitely were all dressed to impress, nice cars around always...

Overall - It's not a bad place to stay....BUT...here is my true complaint...REMEMBER to check your bill carefully when you are leaving....they incorrectly charged me for mini-bar twice (I didn't even opened the mini-bar)....front desk apologized and removed the charges.  But I got another charge on my credit card bill for one more mini-bar charge that was not even on my bill!!!! I had to call accounting to have them credit that back to my credit card.

Seriously - I am a probably a fairly frugal person that would NEVER touch the mini bar stuff ($4 for kit kat...seriously??) I would probably walk across the street to the store to get it and come back to the hotel.  SO.... The hotel staff either don't know how to count correctly...or they kept charging another room to my account!!! Blah...

Any hotel that has a "shag bag" available in the mini-bar is alright by me. Really, I don't think I have one bad thing to say about the ZaZa. The saying "Live Large. Think Big." really applies in this boutique auberge. My room was enormous and plush! Unfortunately I wasn't assigned one of the many themed rooms (the moulin rouge was next door), but I had a giant bathroom, a huge bedroom with a flatscreen, an office space, and a kick-back area (couch, coffee table and chairs). I could have run laps in there if I wanted.

As most business travelers will agree, one of the most important things about a hotel is how comfortable the bed is. My king-size was soft, and I awoke feeling refreshed and ready-to-go.

The Dragonfly, the bar/restaurant downstairs is a pretty cool scene as well. It was cracking on a Monday night, with a strange variety of businessmen, Dallas matriarchs sipping cosmos, and older gentleman sporting girls half their age on their arm. The stench of serious coin in that room was palpable.

The staff was friendly, and I would return in a heartbeat.

I don't know about the ZaZa hotel.  Maybe its an aquired taste.  I spent one night there and found the atmosphere to be, well......pretentious.  I believe my friend and I were denied entrance to the bar or it was suggested that we wait to be chosen.  That situation is still unclear as the door guy  only nodded and grunted.  In conclusion, their latin hospitality was off.
I will give them credit for the rooms.  They are nicely decorated and comfortable. BUT if you look closely, you will notice that some of the construction is shabby.  For example, I noticed holes in the cieling around the recessed lighting.  A few dents here and there are ok with me, but if you want to play up the posh hotel thing, play it up right.

I hate to be the debbie downer of the group but I don't get what the commotion is all about. I just didn't think my room was up to par with how much my boyfriend paid. The staff was friendly and it is in a great part of town but I just wasn't feeling it. I do remember there was a gigantic basket in the room with condoms and lubricant of every flavor, texture you can imagine (at a ridonkulous price). I will admit though my favorite three things in the room was the ornate upholstered headboard, chandelier and glass shower design. I think my boyfriend enjoyed the experience and room much more than I did. I think there are other hotels in Dallas that have more to offer at better prices.

If you like boutique hotels, then the ZaZa is a must! I was lucky enough stay there with a friend who went to SMU - she knows the lay of the land in Dallas and I'm glad that I trusted her opinion.

Here's what made our stay at the ZaZa so memorable:
    - The amazing outdoor pool! During the week it's calm, quiet and relaxing. On weekends, it turns a little more "scenester" but still a good time for the most part.

    - We had our tarot cards read on Friday night in the lobby, which was a special treat! And the tarot card guy was dead-on about our personalities and what to expect in the future.

    - The amenities were impressive- 32" flat screen tv, down bedding, plush robes, and original artwork in each room. The staff even turns down your beds and lights votives for you in the evening (while you're out, of course!).

    - The bar stays open late and serves some tasty flavored martinis!

    - Location is right in the heart of Uptown, which is close to some great shops and restaurants.

The few downsides to the ZaZa:
    - On the weekends, the place gets a little too clubby. We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Sunday. The first half of our stay was much more enjoyable.

    - Guests cannot bring alcohol into their room unless it comes from the hotel bar. We picked up a bottle of wine on our way back from a night out and it was confiscated from the concierge. They did give it back to us when we left, but we couldn't take it on the plane.

If I were to go back to Dallas and stay in a hotel, the ZaZa would be my first choice. It would be great for a bachelorette party or a romantic getaway!

Does lots of young people in black make a good hotel?
It was one of the worst designed rooms I have ever stayed in (see photos), with toe breaking chair and bed proximity, a mirror leaning against the wall, an incomprehensible alarm clock that was meant to be a sound system too, shutters on the interior of the window that did nothing to block light and a tea cup of a wash basin with a drip on your foot marble surround.
What else? Oh yes, AC that would not pull the temp below 75 despite being set on 62 degrees.
That and a staff determined to get you to say everything was fantastic every few minutes and I was ready to move down the street to the Melrose.

Hotel ZaZa was THE way to welcome 2009.

A Dallas native, ZaZa has always been the apple of my eye of hotels in the area to hang out at, and with Dragonfly, a fabulous place to dine. However, after staying here over New Year's with a friend, I can officially say ZaZa is an all around wonderful--bordering on magical--experience. It's, naturally and obviously, incredibly sexy...sexy in this elegant but erotic manner that totally makes you want to stay there entrenched in this fantasy for, well, forever.

ZaZa's lobby upon entering with its unique style and character is only the prologue. I have always service to be professional, gracious, attentive, and refined - very much infused with a European style. As mentioned earlier, Dragonfly is lovely (but that's another Yelp on its own). I haven't had a chance to try any of the spa services but I'm looking forward to something in the future.

    Back to the hotel itself...
Our room was on the Club ZaZa (4th) floor right in the center with an outstanding balcony view. The halls were lined with black-and-white pin-up type portraits and gorgeously colored wallpaper and filled with eclectic furnishings. Inside the room, a similar decor followed, more on the contemporary/modern side of things, very stylish. It was totally spacious, the bathroom luxurious. Finally, and most uniquely, our room had huge mirrors...well, it seemed, everywhere. Note to all current or future lovebirds: What fun in bed! ;-)

OH WAIT ONE MORE THING, and this applies to all rooms: There is a shag bag in the snack/drink bar. With a mini vibrator! 5 stars for that right there.

This is a beautiful hotel, with beautiful people in it. It is one of Dallas' hot spots. If you go make sure you dress "Dallas" including the most expensive shoes, dress, and purse (this is of course for the girls, but guys if you want to try please let me know and I will go with you!)

The drink prices are a little steep but you are paying for your surroundings more than the drink. If you don't like to stand in line for drink make sure and reserve a table if they have any. They come with a waitress and are very comfy chairs.

Damn this hotel is zen! Hallways are darkly lit, racy photography hang on the wall, everything smells good, large bowls of candy litter the lobby, a gym with everything you need for a decent workout, and old campy TV shows like Love Boat and I Dream of Jeannie play on small screens near the elevator. Willy Wonka was on last night. Cool!

You can control your lighting in your room to create the perfect mood. The beds are comfy, the mini bar has everything you could ask for including oddities such as oxygen, and when housekeeping turns down your bed, they leave a Mr. Goodbar on your pillow. A big one not a mini.

The pool even has beach balls, rafts, and alligators floating in the water. This place is just cool. I feel very relaxed here and I'm working my ass off. I have a great bar where I can blow off some steam and have a good meal. I never need to leave.

    Can I move in please???

When you're in Dallas this is where you want to be. The location puts you in the heart of uptown. Lots of fun places within walking distance, but you don't even have to leave the hotel to have fun. Between Drangonfly, their amazing pool, and the spa, you could conceivably never leave ZaZa.

There is a reason celebrities choose to stay here when they're in Dallas.

I've stayed at Zaza 6 or 7 times throughout the years for various occasions. This is my go-to when I want to get out of town without getting out of town... if that makes sense. It's such a cute little hotel with attentive staff and some pretty spectacular rooms. It just so happens that a large group of my friends gets a Magnificent Seven suite here every year for Thanksgiving. For those of us who either don't have family or just don't get along with our family we call this our "framily" time.

In the past we have stayed in pretty much all of the Magnificent Seven suites (with the exception of the Leonardo) and were pleased with every single visit. These rooms are decked out with everything you would need for a weekend getaway. If you properly prepare yourself you could seriously stay for days without even having to leave the room. The rooms come with a living room, dining room, kitchen and multiple bed and bathrooms. These rooms also have their own separate entrance making you feel that much more exclusive and special. If, however, the Magnificent Seven is not what you are looking for then get a regular room... you won't be disappointed. The beds are soft, linens plush and as I already mentioned, the staff is quite accommodating.

I've stayed here twice.  The first time was for my 21st Birthday last year and the second was this past year for my 22nd.

The first year we stayed in one of the magnificent 7 suites- "Crouching Tiger".  The room was Fabulous and huge.  The second year we were in the second biggest suite "The Last Czar" which was equally fabulous.

The staff was very friendly on both occasions.  The second year for my party we had about 50 guests there in our suite.  I think the hotel management was elated to have people even staying in the ultra high end rooms during such a bad year for everyone.

I have but one complaint for ZaZa: The second year, we actually used the kitchen at the party.  We had so much food laid out.  Well the sink was not properly maintained and it ran onto the floor.  But everyone was pretty much "inhibited" at the time and didn't seem to mind.

Warning: Under NO circumstances open any bottles of liquor or orange label champagne provided in the room.  Expect a few Hundred Dollars of mark up... Even if you replace the identical bottles the next morning.  I guess that's our fault.  We should have bought more liquor.

I'm wondering If its worth a third go around at ZaZa this coming year for my 23rd?  I guess I'll wait till August rolls around for me to decide.

    Alright . . . here comes the naysayer again . . .

I got kicked out of ZAZA for throwing party there . . . granted, I wasn't very careful with the extracurriculars, but I digress . . .

The staff is perfectly fine, until there's an issue. As soon as they can play their holier-than-thou card, they will. They are rude. Unless you look like you're going to tip them, they are rude.

And don't get the 70's themed suite . . . it's tiny and all in one room, with no balcony. Hardly worth the price.

    There!!

I had heard so much about Dragonfly, we were looking forward to our dinner last night.  While it was good, it certainly was not exceptional.  It is not a place that I have to visit again with so many exceptional restaurants in Dallas.

Who can possibly remember if this is a nice hotel or not...I was so drunk I barely remember what it all looked like ~ haaa
No, seriously  I have stayed in some super nice places w/ some major service so it was alright BUT I think that all hotels should take lessons from Chicago hotels they are by far the finest, w/ wonderful assistance and treat you like you are a queen even if they are sure of your real status...I tested it since I had the opportunity ~ long story but trust me I do with most hotels.
Anway, the one thing I did like that I really never see hotels do is give you a cold bottle of water when they pull your car around in the morning ~ I personally thought that was perfect esp since I was suffering from a few too many zaza tini's
I prefer Four Season's Las Colinas & a couple others over the ZaZa

I loved this place and it changed my whole view on Dallas.  Very chic, really friendly staff, and a hip vibe.

Rooms were HUGE, decorated in dark sultry hardwoods with a super comfy bed (I can never sleep in hotel rooms).  Awesome stone shower with glass door, was a nice touch.

Food at Dragonfly was very good too.  The Pepper sirloin steak was really nice.

Oh, and Oreos and Lemonade to greet you, that was nice.

Why would anyone stay at a chain hotel again?

I can't quite give Zaza 5 stars, but this is my favorite place to stay in Dallas, hands down.  Having grown up in Dallas, and with family still located in town, I visit quite often.  I have probably stayed here 10 times at this point.

I am going to start with a few things that you need to know or they could be considered negatives.  The room service menu 'after hours' is lacking.  However, they will feed you no matter when you call so that is a plus.  If it isn't on the menu and they have the supplies, they will make it.

If you are going for rest and relaxation, be sure to stay away from the pool side of the hotel.  The pool is also part of the bar/nightclub and often has music pumping until 2am.  If you want to stay pool-side, get a balcony room if you are getting basic accommodations.  The themed rooms are a different story.  They are scattered all over and some have balconys and some don't.  You will have to check the site or call.

Valet is the only option and it tends to get very crowded and difficult to get in and out on weekends.  On the flip side, the valets are very friendly and usually put water bottles in your car before you head out for the day.  If you plan around this, it will never be a problem.

Now for the good stuff.  This hotel is super fun and unique.  It starts in the lobby, which is visually stunning.  For some reason, it makes me feel like I am entering the mansion of a rock star.  At the check-in desk, they have a huge bowl of hot tamales.  I love hot tamales and usually grab a ladle full while trying to provide my details through a mouth of gummy candy.

The elevators are dark.  For some reason, that appeals to me.  The hallways to the rooms are covered in photography that will keep you busy for a few minutes.  A few of the images are disturbing.  For some reason, that appeals to me.  The rooms are full of surprises, and they have a series of themed concept suites that are truly exceptional.  The whole place is hip and fun to walk around.

To date, I have stayed in basic rooms, balcony rooms, and one of the concept suites.  The concept suite was the Erotica suite, which sounds much more risque than it really was.  On the site, they have excellent photos and descriptions of the rooms, so I will not go into detail on that here.

The pool is nice during the day, and the bar/restaurant/nightclub Butterfly is great at night.  A real hotspot in Dallas.  I have not been to the Spa, but I have heard great things from other guests.  I have used the business center, which was a great convenience on one visit.  At night, during the turndown service, they place different candies on your pillow each night.  Usually, it is something funny like a ring pop or a candy bar you haven't seen in a million years.  That and they usually place a lot of tea light candles in your room.  Nice little touches.

I consider this a must-stay at least once.  I will continue to go back whenever in Dallas.  If it isn't your style, go across the street to the big stuffy hotel for high tea and see if that floats your boat.  Zaza also has a hotel in Houston, which is a completely different experience that I also recommend.

    What can I say?

This has to be, hands down, the sexiest hotel I have ever stayed at. You walk in and you KNOW you are going to have a great time at this hotel...

Even the elevator is sexy...inspires you to just wanna make out....and desperatly hoping some hot fine (slightly intoxicated) dude steps in with you...and just wants to ravish you...

The ROOM...O...M....Gosh!....beautiful...sexy....you could ballroom in the bathroom.

I litterally didn't want to leave.
hot people, hot times...I can't wait to go back...

Love the hotel and rooms. It is convenient to everywhere I needed to go. Lots of great restaurants close by. The rooms were funky and well decorated. The lobby, gym and spa were all nice also.

The only thing I did not like was the strange pick up joint atmosphere in the bar at night. Be aware there are lots of people on the prowl. Bar was fun until it gets like that. Unless that is what your looking for then it is perfect!

ZaZa is all sexy exotic ambiance. This is the sort of place where anything could happen.

The rooms are spacious and luxurious... and yes they do offer a shag bag.The room I had on my stay had a balcony overlooking the lit up poolside bar which was pretty entertaining to people watch while munching on room service.

Dragonfly the restaurant/bar is amazing and you owe it to yourself to have at least BOTH breakfast & dinner there... the wine list is fabulous.

At night the poolside bar is simply magical. The scene changes from night to night though and sometimes it can be a bit too crowded and pretentious.

But overall this place is gem for Dallas and I would definitly recommend it if you can splurge on it!

What a cool experience.  The hotel... the spa... the whole place is cool.  Luckily we landed a great deal so the price wasn't so bad.

It is certainly the place to people watch and be seen.  Although if you go in jeans no one will judge.

The rooms are comfortable and have all the amenities you could want.  Great comfortable beds, killer robes... and if you have trouble with the noise of the party happening at the bar downstairs... just turn on the air humidifier to muffle the sound when you're not wanting the party!

Great hotel...great breakfast!! Their steak & eggs breakfast is fantastic. It feels very low-key and understated.

Spa - Not so great. I expected way better service than what I received. The lady who did my facial seemed to be in a hurry and the whole experience felt very rushed. Won't go again.

This is my favorite hotel in Dallas and it is one of my favorite hotels period.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable.  The vibe is eclectic and hip.  Sort of a cross between an Ian Schrager hotel and an interior design firm.  Tasteful but not cookie cutter.  And it is in a great part of town, especially for access to downtown or to uptown.  I also like that it is not a big hotel and you tend to get very personalized service from the front desk and reception staff.

The last time I was in Dallas, we skipped it and opted to try out the new W instead (I admit that I am a Starwood points whore).  Huge mistake.  Ugh.  I'll be back to ZaZa from now on.

The only gripes I have center around the "scene" here at night.  The pool area turns into a bar scene and it can alternate from fun and laid back to velvet rope pretension, depending on the night of the week and other factors not immediately understandable.  If you catch it on a good night, lounge around and have a few drinks.  If not, skip it and head out to somewhere fun.  There are plenty of nightlife alternatives within a 2 mile radius.

Sorry to say, but I'm not young or hip, but I liked the place.  It has some things about it that are a bit 'strange'.  But what the heck, it 's OK to try something different.  The staff was good, the food was great and the bed, wow, that was fabulous.  I had a balcony that was private and quite, so I was able to make some business calls while sitting on the couch out there.  The turn down service surprised me.  Imagine walking into your room after an all day meeting and the bed is turned down, Junior MInts on the pillow and candles lit all over the room.  Who was is this women and will she come to my house each evening?
    i'll so go again!

Upscale boutique hotel filled with Dallas socialites on a shopping spree or girls night. I stay here for business.

The rooms are opulent. The beds very comfortable. The lighting in the rooms is very low for the ambiance, difficult to do work by. Bathrooms are large and robes are provided.

The restaurant downstairs strongly enforces a dress code, so if you're a business traveler getting in after a long flight, you may want to order room service (which may break your expense account) or go to one of the local restaurants in walking distance. I've seen women in dressy thong sandals not be allowed to enter because of the shoes. Wednesday does have half price food.

There is an outdoor patio area. I have not been in the pool.

Typical of a boutique hotel, in the morning in the lobby area of each floor is complimentary coffee and teas.

First off I have never actually been a guest at this hotel before. I came here for my sister's rehearsal dinner before her wedding; therefore, that event is what this review is solely based on:

Things I love about this place:
-The funky and fun decor (this place isn't afraid of animal prints or multicolored lights)
-The AWESOME bar adjacent to the hotel pool (makes you feel a bit like your in Europe and not so much Dallas)
    -Great drinks and attentive bartender!!!
-Nice room and perfect accommodations for a medium size rehearsal dinner!!!!
-FANTASTIC steak...even by my picky Texas girl standards :)
-Oh, and I can't forget the movie Casablanca projected on the hotel's facade...so sweet, so fancy, and sooooo fitting for the occasion (however I highly doubt they did this on her account...but it was still nice)

Things I didn't like so much...
-Nope...can't really answer that one ;)

Check this place out for a drink, a meal, or for your special occasion...I doubt you will be disappointed...
