Hotel pur is a great option for a modern type boutique hotel outside of the old part of town. It is located in an up and coming part of town that has quite a few local neighborhood gems food wise. Clean lines, the hotel appeals to those who have a modern sensibility for design. The hotel offers free coffee (cappuccino, cafe au lait, etc) out of a cool Italian style self serve coffee machine. Also available are English breakfast and earl grey for tea lovers.

Free wifi is a definite bonus here!

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The hallways are a bit dark and the bathroom lighting leaves a bit to be desired, but all in all we loved the stay.

We had a great stay at Hotel Pur on a recent trip to Quebec City.  The hotel and its rooms are stylishly designed, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful and refreshing, and the staff was friendly.  Free wi-fi was also a plus.  The rates, which we got through a third-party website, were very good and much less than you would pay in the old town.  There is no coffee maker in the room, but they have a automatic espresso machine in the lobby which unfortunately produced a bland brew--with all the great cafes nearby though, we did not go through caffeine withdrawal.  I also used the gym which was small but well equipped (and empty)...there is also a pool on the gym floor.

We also really liked the surrounding area, which is a small student-filled neighborhood filled with interesting shops (bookstores, clothing shops, etc.), good restaurants and cafes, and even a microbrewery.  It is a bit of a hike to most of Quebec City's attractions which are centered around the old town and in the park, but was worth it to stay in a less-touristed location.

Finally something different from the dry, boring, standard American hotels.  The place is very clean and modern.  Every part of this place is sleek and thought out.  The free expresso maching in the lobby is on point.  Great location in YQB.  Walk up the hill and hit the bars!  Bonjour!!

This place has the best staff!  They are the friendliest and most helpful! That alone deserves 10 stars.  Everyone here is sooo helpful and friendly (and cute)!

the hotel is right in the heart of down town... everything around here seems walkable!    The hotel oversees  the city and the give the finest (and yummmiest) chocolates! And i don't even like chocolate!

i saw that a few people complained it looks ikea-ish... it looks very modern and trendy....   not cluttered but everything you need is here!

The rooms are very roomy and spacious...  the only negative was that i didn't  there was  alot of lights in the room at night...  it not dark.. just looks cool enough to still not be bothered =)  the 24hr free coffee/espresso/latte machine is a huge plus!!! they also have free wi-fi and the amenities are available too for free unlike the places in Vegas...(booo)

love this place i recommend it and more....  this should be the place to stay if you are staying in quebec!

The decor is cold and bare.  I thought it was under construction when we arrived, but realized it was the design (the lobby has a cement floor and a bench to sit on - that's about it!  It was the only place open, so we had no choice.

The room was basic - like a Motel 6 redone with IKEA furniture.  The view, on the other hand, was very nice.  We were on the top floor, and had a spectacular view of the city.

There was a super-LOUD party in the room next to us.  There was NO sound insulation. It really sounded like the door was paper-thin, almost like the party was in our own room.  The hotel staff did nothing to help.  It was horrible.
It was $220 or something, so I had hoped for something decent. The next night, we stayed at the Lowes in Montreal for $230, and it was exceptionally nice, quiet, luxurious, ahhhhh... totally different than the Hotel Pur.
I'm giving 2 stars, because at least it was clean, and livable (I reserve 1 star for the most horrible experiences).

For a boutique hotel, the price is definitely right. The room we had was gorgeous, King bed with a huge window facing North.

Free coffee? Awesome. Free wifi? Awesomer.

Prices were pretty good on room service, considering it is still room service. Nice decor, both in the lobby and the rooms.

Staff was helpful and very bilingual, so my boyfriend could understand. Valet is $19/day, which is steep, but you have free access to your car (no extra charges). A great getaway close to the Old City!

I really loved the style of this hotel, and found it to be a great experience, especially for the price. My room had a wonderfully comfortable queen bed facing a floor-to-ceiling window facing north. I got to just leave the curtains open, as there were no surrounding buildings and no direct sunlight. The bathroom was also very nice, with a very deep tub.

There is a free cappuccino machine in the lobby, a restaurant, as well as a small sandwich shop right next door.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides free Wi-Fi, has a nice swimming pool (I'm guessing about 20yrds in length, 3-4 lanes) and an equally nice exercise room facing towards the pool. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 1 night while passing through da QC. The rate we booked our room at was reasonable and the value was decent. I'm kind of over the whole minimalist hotel vibe, it's getting old. The lobby is stark and looks like an IKEA showroom. The room was better, the furniture is still minimalist but there are some quirky things that keep it interesting. The room - a standard queen - was a bit on the small side but not cramped. There was a huge window that allowed us to have a great view of the city from the desk or the bed. There was no iron in the room and when I called to the front desk to see if someone could bring one up, no one answered. They don't have ice machines on the floors so you have to call them or go to the desk to request a bucket of ice, though they did respond promptly that time. The TV was small and in an awkward location in the room but that was not what we were in QC for.

The front desk staff were great, the bell men and valet men left something to be desired. There was one that had a weird attitude that I didn't care for and made some strange comments about AIDS... say whaaa? I guess we had a decent experience, not phenomenal, but certainly ok.
