Just lovely! Very quiet and pretty. We upgraded to a suit when we got there and were are so happy we did. Huge room with giant floor to ceiling windows. We never even ran into another guest which was nice! We didn't really like the $20 extra bucks it cost to valet the car but oh well. We will stay again for sure!

After living the "Up in the Air" life for several years, there are several things that I look for in a hotel stay for business. Convenience, class and comfort are three important C's and all are met at the Hotel Lusso.
The hotel is in a restored building located in downtown Spokane, which puts it within walking distance of several major businesses plus dining & entertainment for after hours. Owned by the same developers that restored the Davenport, the Lusso rooms are fairly spacious, nicely decorated and have very comfortable furnishings. The temperature is appropriately controlled by a quiet A/C system and, speaking of quiet, the rooms seem to have nice sound insulation between rooms and the outside.
The average room prices are excellent here considering the amenities are nearly on par with the Davenport. The jury is still out on the toiletries (not individual but soft soap in wall dispensers). The quality of the soap is excellent but I still prefer to have those little souvenirs to take home.
The only drawbacks to the hotel would be parking and breakfast. Parking is either valet or self-park which would be somewhat inconvenient as there is no parking on premises. Breakfast is a very light Continental affair in the lobby with enough calories and caffeine to get you out the door to start your day. Then again, it is free and there are several restaurants nearby should you choose to have something more substantial.
I've stayed at the Hotel Lusso twice this year and will probably return again the next time I'm in Spokane for business. -

the location is perfect, the staff is very friendly, and the peanut brittle is amazing. Spokane was a stopover for a work trip, and I found myself very pleasantly surprised with the downtown and the hotel. Perfect walking distance to everything in the summertime.

This hotel is in a great downtown location: walking distance to the convention center and local Riverfront Mall ; near many restuarants and even a handful of local wineries. It is a sister property of the more luxerious Davenport Hotel, so you have access to their amenities: covered parking/ fitness center, pool & spa. The rooms here are slightly cheaper than the Davenport and feels more intimate.
We'd definately stay here again & recommend you give it a try if you're in the area. We'd give it 5 stars if the room rate included a full continental breakfast. -

Nothing really wrong with this place, but you are mainly paying for the location.
Very few amenities for the price, no fridge, fitness center, vending machines, free breakfast, etc. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They do have free coffee in the morning, with coffee cake, and a free newspaper at your door each morning, but that is about it. Not the best value. If I need to visit Spokane again I will probably do a little more research to see if there are better hotels in the area that might offer a little more.
Staff are friendly, but don't volunteer a lot of info about what the hotel has to offer. -

Wonderful hotel and service. I needed a refrigerator and they brought one up to my room. Spacious and tasteful rooms, has a B&B feel but is an actual hotel. About 1/2 the price of its sister hotel, the Davenport, which is across the street. Very close to downtown restaurants and shopping. No real food in the hotel, but there is a brew pub attached. Coffee service in the AM.

The hotel is a very nice boutique hotel in Downtown Spokane. Walking distance to all downtown has to offer, bars, shopping parks etc. Everything is a 5 minute walk. The hotel is now owned by the Davenport hotel which is literally across the street. I booked this hotel on Expedia and was able to get a much cheaper rate than the Davenport rate. I'm only giving the hotel 3 stars because the amenities are limited. There's no room service, which is fine because I usually don't like to eat in my room anyway. They offer free coffee, decent quality, in the lobby every morning. There's also a cafe across the street and a Starbucks 3 blocks away. The hotel is clean, cute and offers free Internet. I would stay here again for sure.

I spend so much time in the chain hotels (Marriott, Hilton, etc) that it's easy to forget just how great a small local hotel can be. This hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and for good reason!
Let's talk cleanliness (hotel requirement number 1). This hotel is spotless. To make it even better it's spotless without you ever knowing that they clean. I never saw housekeeping (except one time, and we'll talk about that soon). Usually I see their carts in the morning or hear the vacuums when I have a late flight out, but I never heard a peep. The room was spotless when I walked in and each day the staff made sure it stayed that way.
Now for the bed comfort (hotel requirement number 2). A wonderful king size bed that was perfectly soft, yet just firm enough to support your lower back. All without the need for an adjustment dial like you see at a Hilton hotel. The large pillows were a little hard, which I like, but for those that need a soft pillow the smaller ones will fit the bill. While we are talking about beds, let's talk about the rest of the room. The bathroom is large and has a nice deep soaking tub. The coffee maker in the bathroom was kind of weird, but I can forgive that. That mini-fridge under the TV is not a fridge, that's the mini-bar. Yeah, I thought I got a fridge, but not so much. Remember I said I did see one person from housekeeping? Well you get complementary turn down service and a little three-pack of cookies every night. I saw her twice, but the rest of the time I came back from dinner to see my bed ready to climb in to and a yummy pack of cookies. Superb service!
Location, location, location. The Hotel Lusso has it. Just a short walk from Riverfront Park and numerous dining possibilities. For people with business downtown you can't go wrong. It's also across the street from the main bus depot for Spokane. While this does mean you can hear the buses if your room faces the street, it also means that if you need a ride somewhere outside of downtown you have easy access. Of course with this location you know that there is no free parking, but after San Francisco's outrageous parking rates I didn't mind paying $12 a day for valet parking. The morning valet quickly remembered me and I just had to step off the elevator and he greeted me as he headed out the door to get me car. Talk about service!
Free breakfast is hotel requirement number 4. I can't really comment on this too much. I did get a certificate for free breakfast, but I never bothered to head down for it. I usually just ate my cookies from the night before as I headed down to get my car.
If you are in Spokane I heartily recommend staying at the Hotel Lusso. You won't regret it. -

Seattle, WA
I was so excited to stay here - the place looked beautiful and the location in downtown Spokane was great. We checked in and loved the place. the room was very nice - the bathroom was HUGE.
However, in the middle of the night, we were both wide awake because the temperature in the room was around 85 degrees (we stayed there last January). We couldn't get the windows open and couldn't adjust the thermostat. We called the front desk around 1:30 a.m. and they said they'd try to adjust the heat for us. At around 3:00 a.m. when the heat had not changed, we called the front desk again and requested a fan. It took them about a half hour to bring it to us. It just didn't seem like they cared that we were not sleeping.
It was a miserable night.
In the morning when we went to check out, we requested to speak to the manager to explain how disappointed we were and how frustrated we were at not sleeping. The front desk staff told us that the manager was not available and that they would call us.
We had to get back on the road to get home, so we had to eventually leave. The manager finally called us hours later, when we were half way back to Seattle, to say that housekeeping reported that that our room was damaged. They claimed that our dog had peed all over the room, on the bed, on the chair, on the carpet, that the smell was sickening and that all of these items were going to have to be replaced -- and that we were liable for the cost of damages.
As we were too far away at that point to go back and argue with them and inspect the room ourselves, we ended up striking a bargain with them, that meant we didn't get any reduction on our bill, but that they would be kind enough to not charge us for the cleaning fees for the room and furniture.
It was a total bullsh** tactic - instead of dealing with the issue at hand, they made up some other "charges" hours after we left and when they knew we wouldn't be able to return.
The room when we left it was clean and neat. My dog is well behaved and house broken and a female and therefore physically unable to pee in the places they were claiming were damaged. The damages they claimed were totally bogus.
I will never stay there again and I would never recommend the place. Management was deceitful and dishonest. -

Hotel Lusso is a small hotel right across the street from the Davenport so it could be easily passed over, don't let that happen to you. This is one very classy joint. The rooms are beautiful, the beds comfortable, the showers and tubs huge, and the people super nice. This is what all hotels should be like.

My husband and I were driving through Spokane on our way to CA, and found Hotel Lusso on google. We didn't know what to expect, but it sounded nice via its reviews. Nestled on a downtown street, it was the quiet getaway we needed. We are crazy about design and consider ourselves somewhat picky and we loved the hotel. "Boutique" is a perfect word - it embodies Tuscan with Italian modern, clean, quiet and comfortable, and luxurious. We stayed in a king: a Large room with high ceilings. The staff was really helpful and recommended some local spots for dinner and drinks. We would recommend this to anyone, enjoy!

Hotel Lusso is a beautifully restored boutique hotel in the heart of downtown. My wife and I have stayed there twice and have enjoyed both visits - it is a great value. The lobby is cozy, inviting, and well appointed. The rooms are large and nicely furnished. Also, the bathrooms are large and have plenty of large soft towels. My only complaint is that the beds are too soft (btw, what is this trend in hotels for the super-soft beds? They feel great when you first land in them, but hurt your back after about 5 mins.).
