I forgot to review this from my last trip to Van-city...
This is honestly one of my most favoritestestest hotels in the world! You may never know it's there. The entrance is very discreet. But, after you stroll through, it opens up to golds and reds. Obviously, very French inspired and warm. The people who work here are always very kind and helpful.
The rooms are great with a small living room that flows into the bedroom. I have only been in the rooms with showers (no tubs). However, the bathrooms, like the rest of the digs, is French style. I love the Aveda products too.
I would recommend this hotel to my closest of friends. Really a great location and exceptional value.
Very quaint and charming hotel. The location is pretty good and the staff are SUPER friendly. We were upgraded to a bedroom with a separate suite and it was nice to have the extra couch and lounge space. I think that this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway but could be small for a family. The prices are usually more affordable than the other hotels in the proximity too!
Great boutique hotel!
Stayed here for a romantic night and was not disappointed. Rooms were very nicely appointed, and the lobby etc was matching. A fabulous time was had, and the breakfast in bed wonderful. Nice bathroom too. Will repeat if the opportunity arises...
FABULOUS hotel. Check out their website to see all the details. The 42" tv's in each of the rooms were nice. The place was plush. The Aveda products were wonderful. You will be SO happy you stayed here that you will come back. The price was more reasonable when I stayed, however, I see that they are on the high side. I don't think in Vancouver that you will find many value priced hotels especially those that are worth staying at.
The hotel is near just about everything in the downtown area just walking two short blocks one way or the other (and I'm not much of a walker!)
Try to book online as it may save you more money. I stayed Oct 8, 2009 and it was $118CAD a night+txs. I noticed other dates to be very pricey...
If you are not from Canada I would suggest that you pay for a hotel in advance rather than using your credit card as you will be charged conversion fees and service fees every time you use your cc in CAN.
The hotel staff are nice/helpful. At the front desk they have complimentary fresh apples and bottled water available.
I would give this hotel a A+++
Hotel Le Soleil is one of the most charming and modern boutique hotels I've been in. Having traveled and having spent time in various hotels (and hostels!) in Japan to Hawaii to Italy, I have to say that Hotel Le Soleil stands out just because it's so wonderful!
There are brand name toiletries and lush heavy bath towels/robes and 1000 thread count sheets (really nice to lay in after wandering around Vancouver all day).
Our room had our bedroom overlooking the city and another room that was like a living room complete with a couch and huge tv screen.
The -1 star is that we did not have a bathtub (but rather, a huge shower stall that had granite flooring (??) which was nice, but I prefer tubs and/or showers with 2 shower heads if I'm going to be stuck with a shower!).
Also, there is an extensive work out gym but I didn't find out until the day I was leaving that it was located in a separate building (right next door).
If I ever visit Vancouver again, this is where I'm staying.

A beautiful boutique hotel, small with warm and friendly staff. We didn't stay for long but I was quite impressed by the rooms and the floor we were on. Ornately decorated in the Soleil theme, the room was very large.
We were on the 12th floor, with a suite-like room - probably a deluxe room which came with a sitting/living area, 2 large LCD tvs, a large king sized bed and a Valentine's treat - chocolate fondue, with Inniskillin ice wine & other Valentine's goodies and free valet service!
Toiletries were supplied by Aveda and the shower was large with 2 shower heads which I liked! I wish they had toothbrushes though cos I forgot to bring mine.
It was a divine Valentine's surprise at a very pretty hotel for a relatively good price :D
We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in Vancouver. It's cute and lush, and conveniently located in the downtown financial district (within walking distance to a bunch of fun stuff, i.e. Gastown, Coal Harbour, Chinatown, West End/Davie Village, etc). B. was able to secure a great deal on Expedia for a flight/hotel package, so our nightly rate was extremely reasonable. They set us up in a suite on the 6th floor, with a nice view of the street bustle below. There were two large flat-screen TV's in our room, as well as a sitting area with a couch and desks. Everything in the hotel was furnished in a Louis XIV style (the "Sun King"), ranging from rich red/gold sheets and crystal chandeliers in the main lobby--which sounds sort of gaudy, but it really isn't at all. Everything was charming and adorable, and extremely clean. They do their homework.
I also have to mention the staff. Everyone was great, especially the concierge (Brett). He was really helpful when we asked for information on how to get around... you know, tourist-y stuff.
We'll definitely come back the next time we return to Vancouver.
Two thumbs up for this fantastic boutique hotel in Downtown Van. While the posted rates are on the pricier side, searching the travel sites revealed a much better deal.
The rooms are fantastic. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable, exactly what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Rich plush towels, quality toiletries, a comfortable bed, and complete sound insulation were great features. The rooms were truly a home away from home, making them a comfortable place to relax and spend time in.
Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff rounded our a fantastic stay at Hotel Le Soleil. I will definitely consider this location when I travel again.
Great hotel for traveling couples but if traveling with a family of 4 or more be advised the rooms are kind of small & no public parking, will have to use valet which is actually better for convenience.
Cute little boutique hotel a couple blocks away from Robson, and a couple blocks away from the Chanel boutique on Hastings.
Rooms were decorated nicely (red/gold motif) and the service was sufficient.
My friend pointed out it's right next to a strip club - no wonder I kept seeing guys queueing up next door at night!!!
There are too many amazing things to say about Le Soleil. I'll try to say what I can but the important point is that this hotel is truly first class. The room was great, the bathroom was great. The staff was amazing and helpful. The location was quite convenient. For a room rate of 115 around the holidays, it was a steal. I'll definitely stay here again. I heard from some other people in hospitality at other locations, that Le Soleil was a great property which further enforced my experience/feeling...
One of my better hotel visits in recent memory. Professional, curteous staff and clean rooms were a delight for us. Location is amazing as well, with a cute restaurant in the lobby. Prices were reasonable and it just had a classic, classy character that was memorable.
I found this downtown hotel through one of the prominent hotel-finding sites, and couldn't have been happier with the selection.
We visited Vancouver on 24 December, so we were probably there during the "off season". Off season or no, the price was VERY reasonable, the rooms were wonderful, and the staff was exceptional.
We stayed in a two-room suite with a great view. Each room had a temperature control, which made for comfortable sleeping.
We didn't eat at the restaurant / bar, but it looked pretty nice. The hotel is walking distance from the many restaurants on Robson Street; that's where we ate breakfast in the morning.
The hotel has valet parking available ($22CDN/night); street parking and parking garages are available nearby, if you choose to go that way.
I heartily recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Vancouver.
Unique Qualities: The feather bed was a nice touch.
The overall decor of the room was top notch.
As another reviewer noted, there is a "gentleman's club / spa" next door.
Boutique hotel...beautifully decorated and very detail oriented. The colours are golds and reds. I spent a night here once and the rooms were fairy large and the bed was very comfortable. Since it's downtown the location is very convenient right beside a steak house, a strip club and Starbucks, parkade and a Chanel store. Overall, if I had to pick boutique it would not be the first on my list but it wouldn't be the last.
Great location, 2 blocks away from Robson street.
We had a complimentary valet parking and free internet access.
Wonderful stylish room, 2 LCD TV, deluxe bed, perfect sheets.
Bathroom was so cute. Red and golden design is everywhere.
The big mirrors are amazing!
The front desk staff are very nice and helpful!
Each room had a temperature control, but sometimes it was noisy.
We will definitely come back to this hotel again!
