First off, sorry for the long review.... I was trying to break everything down.
I usually try to do a run down of reviews before I type one up. I'm guessing mine is just a fluke visit, because I really enjoyed my stay here. There was no weird smell, no stains, the staff was very attentive and helpful. The rooms were clean and cute, I would say it was small, but I'm not looking to live there just a place to sleep & shower.

Upon arrival, we had no problems checking in, in fact, it was swift and clean. Even with check-out we up and out the door in 5 minutes and that was paying with two separate cards. The wi-fi was fast and no lag time. The shower was nice and they had AVEDA products, I will state the water pressure wasn't very strong but it did the job. Linens were clean and fresh.

We had two different shuttle drivers. The first one, seemed like he was having a bad day. We tried to keep a conversation going but he just seemed a little stand off-ish. He did however, make sure we got dropped off right at a the front door of our destination considering they had things blocked off for the event. The second shuttle driver was at night and was running both valet and shuttle. Which you'd think he'd be irritated shuttling people who just wanted to go drink. However, he wasn't he was very friendly.

Now, one last thing for out of towners. I love bars, in fact I love alcohol. This neighborhood is a cross between business district & outskirt of downtown social. We found a couple of bars withing 4-5 blocks. Deep Ellum is another area that is close here, they consist of mainly live music venues. There are a generous amount of clubs/lounges. As far as food, a small selection of pricey restaurants, a couple of local establishments, & if you walk down Main St. far enough a couple of sandwich shops. We felt safe walking in most of the area (2 girls) it was a little sketchy walking from Deep Ellum brewery. However, no one bothered us, just walk like a BOSS. Oh, and park in the garage on your own, it's cheaper than paying valet at the hotel. Fri-Sun morning= $28.00. I would definitely stay here again. Next time I'm going to try out the DART rail and see how convenient it is.

    Just don't.

I've stayed in Indigos in Atlanta and Houston, but this one's a dud. A realtor would call it cozy, but this was tiny, cramped and half thrown together. It's not boutiquey, it's just small and uncomfortable.

Now, we were only staying one night, so small quarters wouldn't have been the end of the world. However, the service here was awful. When we arrived, there was no valet at the stand. I get it -- slow Saturday afternoon, valet is probably dropping off another car, no big deal. I sat in the car while The Wife checked us in.

When the valet finally appeared, he wasn't bothered enough to see if our car needed to be dealt with. I had to actually get out of the car, walk to the stand and ask about multiple valet retrievals. His response? "For guests of the Indigo, yes."

    ...

I guess being parked in the HOTEL INDIGO VALET PARKING ONLY spaces wasn't hint enough.

Anyway, it didn't get much better. After checking out the next morning, there were two valets, but it took over 15 minutes to get our car retrieved from the garage directly across the street. Just stay somewhere else.

    I'm not staying here again.

That's a lie. Stanley from the Office is the valet. He's terrible, just as you'd expect Stanley to be. But he's also kind of awesome at the same time because he is Stanley and that makes me want to go visit him. But I'd just annoy him like I did by troubling him to get my car during my stay, so my first statement stands, I'm not staying here again.

Things about this place that sucked:
    - The water pressure wouldn't get Marcel the Snail with Shoes On wet.
    - Sitting in on the toilet was cramped.
    - The service was just terrible from check-in to retrieving our car on the way out.
    - Cramped, tiny rooms (which we expect from other Indigo's we've stayed in, but this took the cake)
    - Generally kind of creepy hallways.
    - The couple that shoved us out of the way in front of the hotel to take the spot we were standing in, waiting for our car. Said couple included a woman with a gray cat on a leash in a stroller and a man with about 80 bags on a bellman's cart, topped with an open littler box filled with cat poo.

    Things that were OK:
    - Stanley, as long as we didn't expect him to actually park or retrieve our car.
    - The location relative to where we needed to be and the original downtown Neiman's.

I'm giving one star for Stanley because let's be honest, I love Stanley.

WTF Hotel Indigo?  2 years ago I wrote a glowing review of how much I loved this hotel.  I stayed this past weekend and had to drop you down 2 stars because of my latest experience.

First off, call in quality control and start checking rooms for items that need to be replaced/cleaned.  We had stains all over our room that were just ridiculous and should be taken care of.  When you stay at a hotel you're already trying not to think of all the people that stayed there before you but when some red substance is running down the curtains, it's just hard to get past that.   Oh, and update those dinky cheap TVs.

The front desk staff was incredibly slow and hardly friendly.  I then mentioned that we were going to a Mavs game that night and was told they had a shuttle that could take us there.  I asked if the shuttle ran every 15 minutes or first come first serve.  I was told it would be available when we were ready.  When we were ready we were told it wouldn't be back for 20 min.  It only goes in a 3 mile radius?! We took a cab instead.

My biggest problem wasn't something that the hotel could be held responsible for but the way it was handled was disappointing.  At 3:30am our smoke detector started beeping because of a low battery.  I am a light sleeper so this just wasn't going to be an option so I called downstairs.  They weren't the least bit apologetic but did send someone quickly.  I didn't need special treatment or to be comp'd anything but I would have liked an apology or maybe a follow up by the manager or SOMETHING.

Also, we tried to pre-order breakfast.  This is probably the only upscale hotel I know that doesn't offer this.  I thought that was ridiculous.  So when we did call the next morning to order we were put on hold for 10 min.  Since we thought that might be more complicated then it was worth we decided against ordering anything.

Overall, what is happening guys?!  Step up your customer service and it's time for some spring cleaning/replacing.  As always, the valet staff was awesome and super friendly, we did enjoy the items we did ordered at the cafe downstairs, and the beds were still comfy.  Please get back to your roots and be the hotel I fell in love with.

I wish I could give this place 2 1/2 stars. I liked the location and the staff. The decor was cute.  But the smell was just overwhelming. The room is small and not necessarily cozy. It was relatively clean but not pristine, and truly the smell is just overpowering--it starts in the elevator, seeps into the hallways and faintly into the guest room (although the guest room wasn't too bad).

The staff, however, was very friendly and helpful.

I would not recommend bringing someone you'd like to impress, but for solo travel and just one overnight stay where you're not in the room for too long, it's fine. There's a coffee shop just down the street (Mercantile Cafe) that serves intelligentsia coffee and it was very delicious.  Also they have free WiFi although not the greatest connection speed and a bit shotty.

The hotel offers free shuttle service within a 3 mile radius. Again, the staff was just great. If the hotel would only get rid of that terrible smell it would be fine.

My advice to the management is that the sales department and reservation service should be better prepared when they run a Groupon promotion.

I was having trouble with my Groupon reservation, and the service representative on their reservation line (not a hotel employee) suggested that I contact Andy. Andy's voicemail instructed callers to contact Elise, or contact him on his mobile phone. Both Elise's voicemail and Andy's mobile voicemail were full, so I called Andy's office line again and left a detailed message. I've not yet received a response.

Now that I've read the Yelp reviews, I'll be contacting Groupon for a refund, then start looking for other accommodations.

Thankfully, Groupon has a full refund policy for booking problems on their getaways.

    Incredible service, incredible hospitality.

My office does a good amount of our corporate accommodations with the Indigo and I had a special event (girlfriend's birthday on Friday) and Franklin the valet guy went out of his way (as well as the rest of the staff) to make sure we had a memorable night. They left us champagne on ice in the room and even a breakfast voucher for the next day!

By far and away the best treatment I've received from a hotel staff.

I'd give them a sixth star if I could!

    Thank you, Hotel Indigo!

    GROSS and the place smells.

OVER flow of bathroom water. And brown water coming up from the drain.  And you know how I feel about drains.

My make up was messed up and all the offered was an upgrade of a room and a few free drinks............Really?  Now I have to buy new makeup or stay in Dallas w/o any for a day which is going to happen.

My make up is worth more than an upgrade and many drinks.

UT lost there asses big time and I have to deal with ruined make up.  I guess it wasn't my week..

Stayed here this week for 2 days.  It is a nice and cute boutique hotel.  Not your typical big box hotel.  The rooms were nice and they had the a/c on in my room when I walked in so it was nice it was cool than the 100 degrees outside.

The only 2 issues at the hotel was the shower water pressure (was very light) and they only provided one soap, so if you wash your hands at the sink, you would have to take that soap to the shower and vice versa.

The place only has a shower, no bath tub, in case anyone prefers a bath tub.

Overall, it was a good stay from your typical hotel and it was nice and quiet..yay!

I bought a Groupon for a two-night stay in a king suite ($209) with champagne and strawberries the first night and coffee/tea and dessert the second. Overall, the place was pleasant, the front desk staff was okay, the people working the valet/shuttle were friendly. One thing that drove me a little nuts when we first arrived was that there was nobody at the front of the hotel when we were trying to park our car (valet was included in the Groupon - otherwise it's $20/day). We drove around in circles for about 15 minutes (I even called the front desk to have someone come outside) before somebody told us to just park, turn on our hazard lights, and wait until the valet guy came back from his other duties.

As other reviewers mentioned, the place did smell a little funky when we first walked in but after a while it went away (maybe because we got used to it?). The decor was very summery and reminded me of a beachfront bungalow. The location is convenient, walking distance from the arts district, and the hotel provides free shuttle service within a 3-mile radius. The suite we stayed in was nice - living room with a TV, desk, mini-fridge, microwave with a separate bedroom w/TV and bathroom area.

Overall I don't have any big complaints, although I think the front desk staff could have been a little more friendly/welcoming.

When I was traveling to Texas, I needed to find a place to stay. I had NO IDEA what was next to what, or where it would make sense to go. Turns out - this was out of the way... Or, so it seemed. I didn't know it would look like the inside of a Martha Stewart catalog around easter! Everything is bright blues and yellows, with offset white trim - throughout the ENTIRE place.

How was my stay here? In a word: Weird. The phone call I made to book the room was wicked easy. I was talking to somebody in a remote office who couldn't really tell me anything useful about the location I was asking about.

Once we arrived, we went in, and slowly got checked in. The bar area looked new, and the place was slightly over decorated (for my taste, anyways) but overall looked clean and well kept. The lady took an epically long time to check us in, when I had made sure to make all the phone calls I needed and give them a card to already charge, ecc. My prior planning didn't save us any time once we arrived. Suckah!

Why did it take me over a year to write a review? Cause I was so perplexed with the service, and our stay... The room, while it looked nice, was not the most comfortable, or interesting room I've even stayed in. The view was total crap, and the beds were not comfortable at all. The bathroom/bed area was your regular set up. The shower sucked, there wasn't really enough space for the two of us to get ready to go out... Nothing fancy. I think the place looked nicer than it really was.

There is a parking garage literally RIGHT across the street, which is a plus. We parked there.

They had a bar, with a so-so bartender. The worst part? It closed relatively early - the only bars in the area were like serious hip hop clubs, and we didn't prepare ourselves for a night out. Shame on us!

    Would I go back? Maybe
Would I suggest it to anybody? Probably not.
Was I disappointed? Not really, just underwhelmed.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.  They provide a free shuttle service to transport anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel until 10 PM each night.  The rooms are clean and decorated very nice.  I parked in the parking garage across the street.  My car was safe and it was only $8 (weekend price) compared to valet parking ($22).

The only downfall is that it was a little difficult to find because downtown was so busy and full of construction.

Stayed here two nights on 4th of July weekend. Overall, a pleasant stay. This building seems like it used to be high-rise apartments, as there aren't many rooms per floor. We stayed on the 14th (top-most) floor in what seemed to be the biggest room, which was nice. However, the walls seemed painfully thin as I was often awoken in the middle of the night by the elevators directly across from our room, doors slamming, machinery kicking on, etc. The room was uniquely decorated, especially for a hotel, but something about the pale yellow and blue throughout the ENTIRE hotel just didn't mesh well with me.

The bed was divinely comfortable, complimentary Aveda products in the bathroom, helpful staff. We ate breakfast in the "restaurant" in the lobby each morning and while it was pretty good, it always seemed to take entirely too long to get our check and get out of there. I felt a bit ignored both times.

The location of the heart of downtown Dallas was convenient for the places we needed to go during our trip but all the one way streets made orientation a bit tricky sometimes. Overall, I would stay here again, but probably only if other alternatives weren't available.

I rented a hotel room for me, my boyfriend, and two of our friends about a week ago.  We stayed one night - Friday.  We really did not stay very long at the hotel, as we had friends and siblings meeting us in the room to pre-party and chill for a bit and then go out and about in Dallas (it was my boyfriend's early birthday/going away party).

The only great thing I can say about this hotel is they have a complimentary shuttle which takes you and your guests anywhere within a three mile radius.  The driver was super nice and even went back to get the larger van since there were so many of us.

The place was definitely very pretty in the lobby and the bar, just the whole front area.  Very bright and eccentric decorations.  There is a sky walk that connects the 2nd floor of the hotel to the parking garage across the street,

However, once we got into our room, we were VERY surprised and I hate to say, dissappointed at how small and unimpressive it was in there.  There were two beds, fairly small, sitting across from one another in a rectangular room.  The weirdest part about it was that the TV was in the MIDDLE of the two beds, facing the door.  There were no chairs/couches to sit in even if we wanted to watch TV.  How is this in any way useful?

The bathroom was also much smaller than I expected.  The only redeeming quality was the free Aveda products (which I took all of, btw).

The fact that I spent so much on this room for just one night was pretty disheartening seeing as how the room seemed like it was from a Motel 6, except dressed up with bright colors and no cigarette stench.

I'll leave you with the WORST part about Hotel Indigo - I checked my bank account about four days after our stay, and found that I was charged an additional $50 onto my card - no reason or explanation.  I can't think of one reason that I would have been charged except that we had two extra people crash at the end of the night (who were too drunk to drive).  I don't know how the staff would have found out about this - but if they did, hey...at least have the decency to contact me instead of just slapping on an extra $50 four days after our stay, without me knowing.

Long story short...the hotel isn't BAD...but it is very misleading.  If you're going to spend this kind of money you're better off checking out the Fairmont or others around Dallas.

My little home away from home in Dallas...and I am happy to say the recommendations were spot on, just lovely!

The decor and staff are bright and cheery. Every time I stepped off the elevator into the lobby someone greeted me like we were long lost friends reunited after many moons of loneliness. It is a nice touch, I'm betting these people like their jobs...they sure act like it!

I got a very good rate (albeit midweek) on a Standard King Room. $155 per night (booked through the hotel web site), and it's just the perfect size for one person. Two people might be a stretch...not a lot of wiggle room (besides the HUMONGO bed). It is nicely equipped with a very large desk, armchair and again...a luxurious bed that had me sleepin' like a baby. I so needed it, too!

Hardwood floors make me happy. I have a hatred of hotel carpet. The bathroom was a little small, but adequate and well appointed with Aveda products. Sometimes I will stay at a place solely based on their bath products, and while this wasn't the deciding factor...it was a bonus!

Friendly staff, well decorated, GREAT cafe (and SUPER fast room service!), well priced, great location (downtown).

They even have a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel...a nice touch.

A boutique feel, but corporate owned/operated. A pretty good combination...

Pros: Clean, cute decor, friendly staff, walking distance to the convention center and random downtown attractions.  My room was a reasonably spacious suite with microwave and mini-fridge in the living room area.

Cons: Thin walls, mediocre shower, no bathtub, $12/day parking, and the WORST WIFI EVER.

I'd be wiling to stay here again if I'm in town for another convention, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice of location.

While having our floors redone we stayed here for two weeknights.  Room cost $110 a night.

Location.  Downtown Dallas next to the courthouse (not the nice Red Brick one, the one for traffic tickets).

Name: They should change their name to "Seaside Heights Dallas".

Decor.  Seaside Art Deco.  Not the worst, but odd.  Blues, Yellows, etc.

The prices at the restaurant were not bad, but the food was not great either.

We asked the lady at the front desk if there was a wine bar or liquor store to get a bottle of wine.  She looked outside and said, "Its still light outside so you can walk to the one two blocks away." Implying that once its dark do not leave the hotel.  While I do not think the neighborhood is that great, I also did not fear for my safety while at the hotel.  However, I thought it was a terrible impression to give a guest to say such a thing. (by the way, the liquor store that we were sent to, had bars on it, a fine selection of 4loko, and $4 champagne.  Which was excellent).

The bathroom/closet is a mess.  To get into the closet you have to open the bathroom door, enter the bathroom door, then shut the bathroom door, because the closet is behind the door that you just opened.  Makes for a miserable packing/unpacking experience.

Not much water pressure on the Euro Style shower.

Pillows soft, basically were not pillows.

WORST PART of the HOTEL.  The walls are super thin, the doors let in tons of light and sound.  We could hear everything in the hall ways included the elevator, foot steps, delivery of the bills, delivery of the newspapers, people closing (what seemed like slamming) doors, and somebody yelling at 3:30 my key does not work.  And yes, your key will not work.  So basically we did not sleep.

Keys.  They have the old school key machine, if the key touches or is near a cell phone or credit card it does not work, we had to get our keys redone every time we tried to use them.

Parking.  Valet for $20 a day or park in the garage across the street.  They say its $12 a day so that you will valet with them.  However, if you leave before 8:00 am the garage is only $5.  Not good customer service.

    All in all, terrible.

I searched for hotels on my Priority Rewards website for downtown Dallas and found Hotel Indigo.  It was an awesome choice.  I found the hotel with relative ease when I drove in and there is a parking garage right across the street that charged $8 for the weekend.  When I checked out the desk clerk said I needed exact bills for the machine in the parking garage and broke a $20 bill for me so that I could get out of the parking garage with ease since there wasn't anyone working there on Sunday.

The employees of Indigo were all friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.  The decor of the hotel made me feel like I was in a tropical environment vacation, love the colors.  The room was pretty small, but I liked it, I love the old downtown hotel feeling it has.  The bed was very comfortable, mattress wise, they could get some better pillows.

Only complaints are not getting a USA Today at the door each day, that is usually a given, but not that big of deal.  The Internet was lagging on the hotel computers in the lobby and was kind of a pain to get what I wanted, but the printer worked fast and got what I wanted eventually.  The prices in the bar are a little steep, my GF asked for a bottled water and the bartender asked if she wanted a $3 water, she said no, he said well the other is $5.50, so she went with the $3...should just be $1.  Come on, it is probably tap.

I will certainly stay at the Indigo again if and when I return to Dallas!

The location is perfect, all kinds of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance.

I had to take a cab from the hotel at 545am, but understandable, otherwise a shuttle will take you to destinations within 3 miles for tip alone.

During a recent trip to Dallas, I ended up staying at Hotel indigo because the conference location was sold out.  I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel.  The rooms were very small, but had been recently updated. I liked the bright cheeriness of the décor it was a nice change from the typical hotel rooms you see at the Hyatt or Marriot.  Another bonus is they have Aveda products in the room for shampoo/conditioner etc... I ordered a couple meals from the restaurant, both just okay.  The other thing that was a bit disappointing was that there was a $4 room service charge for my $11 pizza, which although somewhat standard, was not indicated on the menu.   The concierge and doormen where very friendly and more than willing to help me get to the right locations. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I would definitely consider staying there again.

This hotel was a great find for us.  It's directly across the street from the Majestic theatre so we made a note that we'd stay here again the next time we have tickets to something at the Majestic.
If you aren't looking to splurge at the W or Zaza and just want a straightforward hotel with a clean room, a nice staff, and a good price then I would definitely choose this place.  The decor was totally cute in blues and yellows and whites.  I liked the wood floors in our room.  It made it seem a lot cleaner than carpet.
They also provided a free shuttle to the Smirnoff music center which was cool since we were headed there for the Dave Matthews concert. I would review that for you, but we decided to drive ourselves and tailgate before the show.  But it's good to know it's there if you need it.
Our only knock on the place was that we grabbed room service before leaving for the concert.  The menu showed some really tasty treats for a reasonable price.  So I ordered the chicken panini with roasted red pepper hummus and olive spread.  My husband ordered the delicious Angus burger with lettuce, tomato, carmelized onions and gorgonzola cheese.  Yum, right?  We got a chicken panini with red peppers and green olives and a cheeseburger (just chedder).  Didn't really have the time to complain about it and it wasn't that big of a deal to either of us but just thought it should be pointed out.

I was looking for a downtown hotel that was a) close to my office at the Comerica buidling and b) that was at or under the $155 limit, my company reimburses for. I accomplished both with Hotel Indigo but wondered if I didnt sell myself a bit short. My friend who had stayed at one in Florida said she loved the beach motif. Certainly the motif wouldnt be the same in downtown Dallas. Think again. Everything from the lobby to the rooms were bright in blues and yellows. My particular room had two queens and a sofa (nice touch) but lets just say, I should have researched things a little more closely to better manage my expectations. The beds were ok. The TV was smallish (no flat screen or PPV). The vanity area was tight, but the glass/curtain shower with tiki wood foot stool was a nice touch. Actually, the shower was probably the best thing about the room, now that I think about it. The "order in" menu was fine and the breakfast selections and service downstairs were fine. Self Park was protected and fairly convenient at $12/night. The best thing about this hotel without a doubt were the staff. From the check-in, to the bell hops, to the cafe staff, everyone was warm and helpful.

Would I stay here again? Maybe. Would I recommend to friends? Perhaps. Would my expecations be managed a little better next time around? Absolutely.

You know what I just figured out? This is a chick or mother with kids hotel. Not a traditional business hotel.

From the moment we pulled up this was a great experience.  The hotel itself is very quaint.  The bed was awesome.  They had Aveda products.  The hotel bar - very reasonably priced.  We had a quick sandwich and chips and queso before we went out.  Service was wonderful and the food was great and costs no more than any other restaurant.  Really great experience. Oh and after the hangover the next morning, Starbucks latte.  Thumbs up!!

Conrad Hilton's first purpose built hotel still offers clean, comfortable rooms for every man; so long as he can stand the baby blue motif.

My mother and I wanted a girl's weekend away and we found Hotel Indigo.  It was perfect.  The staff was so kind and wonderful.  The rooms were gorgeous and very reasonably priced.  The hotel is also within walking distance of everything downtown.  We hardly ever had to get in the car once we parked.  This was a great place to just get away and relax.

The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, awesome beds and wonderful showers. No comped parking makes staying here inconvenient. The rooms are a bit on the small side and lack a few conveniences; such as a microwave.

Good Hotel ... but nothing fancy

It didn't quite have the same "special" feeling as other botique hotels I've stayed in.

Pros: Cute decor, Bed was nice and comfy, they offered a shuttle to different sights in the area which was fantastic.  They drivers were so helpful - that made the trip.  It was within walking distance or trolley of things.

could use a bit of help: the front desk staff was nice - but not really knowledgeable.  We were visiting from out of town and they weren't able to recommend any restaurants or clubs - so we ended up wandering around. And we didn't find good things on our own :(  We wanted a massage on a Sunday and we were able to locate a place ourselves hours before the desk called with an option. Each time we wanted to grab a snack or drink at the bar it was closed.

This was a really great place to stay for a long convention.  The best part was how friendly the staff was and how comfortable the bed was.  I slept sooo soundly.  It was a little bit of a walk to the convention center, and there wasn't a ton right around the hotel itself, but it wasn't far from the restaurants on Main St.
