Review from Vivian W.
After trying out all different yoga studio in Markham, I have to say, this is my favourite one for overall experience.
1. Studio Cleanliness: Their studio is made of hardwood
2. facilities: they provide complimentary mat sanitizing solution. So you can just wipe down your mat right after class. There are small lockers outside of the change room for keys and wallets...baskets are tucked under the benches in the change room for bigger gym bags. There is a rack for everyone to hang up their bigger winter jackets. Always have hair tides, q tips in the bathroom, and two hair dryer.
3. other value added experience: they provide ginseng tea after class, you can just grab one before you go into class or after class. Also, the staff there are very friendly. I misread their class schedule one time, and was there an hour early, they shared their wifi password and I could just sit at their waiting area and browse the internet.
4. teacher quality: There are a couple good ones that has been teaching there for quite a bit, they really come up and challenge you or correct your pose. Also, they will try to add different new postures to the regular routine every week. It makes it more fun to students like me who get bored easily. There is one not as experienced teacher, who looks at her notes when she teaches....but anyways, maybe she' not there anymore.
5. Parking : there is an outdoor parking lot, but also underground parking lot which not a lot of people know that is free for customers too. I like to park in the underground, especially on rainy days and winter, and you don't have to walk outside at all after your hot yoga class when you are all sweaty.
finally..I think their prices are more reasonable compared to others. Also, they are less strict about student being late...even you arrive like 5:58 or 6pm for the 6pm class, they will try to wait for you...I mean that's not a good yoga etiquette but more flexible for people who comes after work and sometimes just got off a bit late and got stuck in busy Markham traffic.....what can you do,right?Listed in: 30 days challenge

My wife and I are members and have had nothing but pleasant experiences at Hot Yoga Markham. Instructors we've enjoyed to date are Gillian (Wednesdays) and Julia (Saturdays).
I'll admit, I'm hooked :-) -

Attended a Nash session here at Hot Yoga Markham where the "M" change-room had 1 shower with full soapy dispenser cause I always forget mine, or I'm just lazy to carry so much so I have a preference when I see those dispensers with Tri-color(Body Wash, Conditioner, Shampoo) enjoyment. Roma M. was on point with the lack of Handheld Hair Dryer especially when this is a Hot Yoga facility.
The room was very spacious or maybe it's because there's so much windows that allow natural light into this 2nd storey studio overlooking a Hotel and Highway 7. Nash is very helpful as he stretches my limps to places my body never allowed before, good thing yelling out is allowed in his classes.
Another terminology I learned today was 'T-Band' and it's about stretching that thigh area. T-Band stretches are as scary to me as Hamstring stretches. I heard the word T-Band over 10+ times during this session and everytime I hear it, my heart sank.
Another thing I learned was a meditation method to calm yourself down when you get frustrated known as the 20-count. At work, I would need a 1,000,000 count and I'm not even a natural hater. I would run out of fingers and toes to do this astronomical count and never reach Prana even when I did buy a Passport.Listed in: Yoga-licious

I work near here, so the location is convenient. For me location paramount! If it's hard to get to, I probably won't be making it there that often. That being said, once I get past the idea of being drenched in my own sweat, and I mean drenched (try not to be grossed out), I really like this place!
Things going for this place: Clean, spacious, friendly staff, they provide shampoo/soap in the showers, varied class times and varied instructors.
I really recommend trying out a few different nights and finding the instructors you like best. For me it's Alex and Julia. They are actually both quite different with different styles (Julia being very positive and relaxed and Alex a bit more strict) but I really feel like I get a lot out of their classes.
The one thing I hate about ALL yoga places is the price, and this place is of course no different.
Been going for almost two months and I can still just barely touch my toes (no fault of the instructors!!) but I feel I am making progress and I think I am a yoga convert!! -

Lovely clean studio! I only went to one class taught by Nash so i can't really review the instructors but he's a good one as he was trying to make us laugh while holding some challenging postures for sometime. I know of someone who goes there on a regular basis and she says the classes are not too difficult compared to other studios.
The only thing I wasn't happy with is the locker as you can only put in keys, phone, wallet while the rest of your items will be in the changeroom in a basket. I would prefer putting everything in a locker...
Loved how there was shampoo, conditioner, body wash avail in the 4 shower stalls :)
They have introduced zumba classes recently.. -
Review from Roma M.
I took an week pass here in the month of March, & was a little less impressed than I was during my first class.
The showers are extremely low in pressure, all of them. Believe me, I've tested. I was also a little alarmed that they didn't have a hand air dryer in the washroom, since it's a little wasteful to be using paper towels all the time, and the large wastebasket was full of them. I just hope they recycle. The large lockers with keys, however, are very useful.
Jovita is probably their best instructor, as she's very advanced in her practice, and provides clear and strong guidance. Where as, Alex(I believe) is a little unclear in her instruction and a little brittle in her reprimands. During the class with with Alex, there were two beginner students right by me, and they were extremely confused with the basic instruction. A clear instructor would not let that happen.
They offer belly dancing too, and it was incredibly fun both for me and for everyone else. You could see it on their faces.Listed in: Yoga Fire!

Markham, ON
Hot Yoga Markham still one of my favourite studio.
Used the Passport to Prana for a visit in one of the hot yoga classes.
Nash was the teacher and he was funny and lighthearted and everyone seems to enjoyed the class. There were quite a few first timer so the class was more like a beginner level. Nash was really helpful going all around and helping us all with the poses.
Can't wait to go back again for another class.Listed in: Yoga Studios I visited in…, Passport To Prana 2010, Some like it HOT! Or They are…
