We were here for a b-day party and it was a fantastic experience thanks to the club promoter that hooked us up. I and one or two other stragglers were a bit later than the official "no cover" time because we were sorting out bill issues at our dinner restaurant, but they still let us in without a hassle. The staff sectioned off a booth for us, making it easy to keep an eye on our stuff and not get separated from our crew. There were also $7.50 double highballs on offer, which in my opinion is a pretty good deal for a Vancouver club on a Saturday night.
But the best thing about the club, in my opinion, was definitely the music. A bit old school, but in a good way. I often find that it's more fun to dance to this type of music than strictly house music that they play in other Vancouver clubs on a weekend. It was hard to tear myself off the dance floor because I felt like the DJ didn't play a bad song for hours on end! I will definitely come back and look forward to future fun times dancing here.Listed in: Best Happy Hour

As I had said in my 500th review (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...), this place is my favourite place to go dancing in all of Vancouver.
In my most recent experience for Crystal H.'s birthday bash, everything said in my previous review still stands. But I want to give a shout out to the amazing treatment by the Mod Club promoter, Dave, that runs Saturday nights at Honey (from what I understood). He accommodated my last minute guest list and without needing names of all attendees (because in a Yelp event, I don't know the full names of everyone coming and it's difficult to know who will and won't come even with the "I'm in" system), and reserved a big booth for our group. He even got drink tickets for the birthday girl!
Fantastic time! I will be coming here many more times before my dancing legs give out.Listed in: Get y'er drank on!

I've only been here on Friday nights where it's the Mod Club feel. Earlier on in the evening they play oldies/rock & roll/motown and progress into a hipper, indie pop/rock playlist later at night. I love dancing at this place because of the chill vibe - it's a cool crowd and I'm comfortable dancing like I would in my room to this bumping soundtrack. It's probably one of my favourite spots in Vancouver
The washrooms are really small though, with only two stalls and limited mirror space, which was kind of annoying but understandable. The doormen are super chill guys too. Plenty of seating space and private booth areas. I love the projections they have on the wall as well, of old song and dance numbers.
Friday nights have $8 cover before 10PM, $10 afterwards, and $6 double highballs on special! -

The existence of the Honey Lounge is like a portal between two very different worlds of night life. Down one block the dives trash things up with old floors and older drunks, cheap beer and the occasional local gig. Up one block to Keefer and the new restaurants with dimly lit "ambiance" and open kitchens serve a night of upper-middle class. Honey seems to be able to straddle the two throughout the week.
On one hand you have Honey Lung, a Thursday night event featuring both local and touring acts for cheap cover. The stage does not really exist, so the band is always front, center, and on level to the audience. The actual lounge for these shows is almost always abandoned to empty beer bottles and glasses on any of these night.
Then there's the club nights, where the rich off student loan and trust fund types come to party with a DJ, smoke machine, and ambient lighting fit for any downtown club. There's as many people waiting to get in as there are dancing inside, and smokers mingle half a block down both way, still in earshot of the beats. Expect the McDonalds across the street to be packed after last call, as Honey doesnt serve food, while drinking and dancing builds an appetite like no other.
I would definitely recommend checking out a show here. The place is definitely upscale and intimate, although the beer selection could be better for the price. And if you don't feel like getting your ears blasted by the PA, you can always go upstairs and lounge. -

Honey Lounge is great. I can only speak for the atmosphere on Fridays, because I've never been there any other night, but the crowd is generally decent with only a couple douchebags per night, and I can't complain at all about the motown music before 12 am ish :)
The staff is also friendly and competent. However, the one bald guy at the bar is kind of an asshole, and I don't feel remotely bad for singling him out. Last time, he chirped me and my friends for paying for drinks seperately just because he was too lazy to split the bill himself. We had exact change too.
The other bartenders are great though. I also greatly enjoy the placement of a 24 hour McDicks across the street. Having drunk food lined up is always a plus. And it's typically pretty easy to hail a cab home down there. -

Came here for a birthday party. Made reservations so they sectioned off a booth for us. Even though there was cover after 10:30, they let the b-day crowd stragglers in a bit after without paying. That was awesome of them. Bathrooms were small, old, but clean. Pretty good tunes, mostly 90's. Unfortunately very little--if any--current top40. $4.75 Kokanees and $7.50 double highballs on Saturdays. Overall a good spot to get your dance on to 90s music!
