I could spend hours and hours in this store. There is so much to see!! I love it!! My dream would be to have my entire house filled with stuff from Homewerx, but alas, I am not made of money... so I've resorted to going there every little while and indulging in only one item each time (it's very hard to do... trust me).
Everytime that I'm at Homewerx, the owner is working, and he's always able to tell me a cool fact or something I didn't know and wouldn't have guessed about something that the store carries. On my last visit I bought the super cool copper looking cereal bowl, but, NO - I do not use it to eat cereal... it's too pretty for that. ha ha ha... I actually use it to put my keys and phone in my room. I get so many compliments on the uniqueness of it!! -

I have never bought anything from this store but I love to browse here. If I happen to be on Davie, I will definitely go into Homewerx.
This store has a great modern/clean feeling about it. Like you literally stepped off the street an into somewhere beautiful. They play a nice soundtrack in the background too.
Other than that, the place has a lot of great looking crap for ridiculous prices. I'm sure they're nice stuff for people who can afford it and stupid enough to pay money for. Honestly I just go in for the ambience and inspiration. (Read: take pictures of the stuff you like and find something similar at IKEA for a fraction of the price). -

Homewerx has had quite the facelift from way back when, and while I still love browsing, it's for different -- more sophisticated -- reasons.
A mix of urban home decor, food assortments like Beta Chocolates and even shoes (which I know are "In" right now, but why? I'm not certain) mingle together in a cohesive, uncluttered way on stark white walls. Furniture, music, stemware, wool blankets and linens all dance together like they're on display in a show home. In the back, what appears to be a cafe, is poised to serve tea and coffee, although, I've never seen any actually served before. The pod-equipped coffee makers shine with brilliance though, right next to the Bodum wall.
The sales staff has always been friendly, without being pushy. Yet, I often leave wondering if they'd fit in better with their look next to Old Faithful in Gastown, but I'm happy to see them busy and in my hood.Listed in: Favourite Vancouver…, Shopping in Vancouver: A right…, Condo Living in Vancouver, Hostess Gifts, Shopping like a Mama in…

I could spend hours here . . . Oh wait, I do . . .
Our kitchen, living room, bathrooms - all filled with cool items we've purchased here. So much selection - many drop-dead useful, others just unique. And when we are looking for gifts for hard-to-buy-for family or friends, we usually head to Homewerx. -

I love this store! I love buying the kitchen items, the unique cards, and the Christmas tea is to die for. Speaking of christmas, purchased a lot of ornaments from here last year, a bunch of beautiful glittery birds. When I was getting married 2 years ago, I found our table decor here, 14.99 for 25 glass faux diamonds to scatter on the tables. Everywhere else I looked had plastic or glass but too large. I think I cleared out the stock. There is always unique items here, and friendly but not pushy sales staff. I went to a party here last fall and everything was 20% off, I stocked up on bodum storage containers and toy cameras (which never go in sale anywhere!) all while being served delicious drinks :) I'm a fan!!

Stopped in here the other day to check out the selection, and I am always amazed at just how far they have come.
I remember when Homewerx first opened not too long ago and they had taken over the space of an old dollar store, and the assortment was unusual at best. They had the beginnings of what home werx is now and the tail ends of the dollar store stock. So basically you would walk in and drool over a really interesting ceramic piece, and next to it would be a multicoloured set of plastic staking containers priced at a $1.99.
However now that it has grown up and the assortment is flowing here you will find all things pretty and fun, and dare I say they have the slight undertones of the ill fated Caban wafting through the store... this to me is a great thing.
I was greeted by one of the associates who caught me eyeballing an ethanol burning fireplace... this thing rocked my world, I can only imagine it hanging on my balcony keeping me entertained for hours. The gentleman was more than happy to answer any questions I had and even went as far as to show me other types and styles of the fireplace they are carrying, as well as models they will be getting in the future.
high five from this yelper! -

Homewerx is where I go when I need to stave off the feeling that I have wasted a large part of my adult life. I know the dollar store across the way has stuff that works just as well in most cases, but I'm sick of filling my home with hand me downs, cast offs and cheap but functional junk. That bowl with the enormous chip out of the rim that holds fully half a box of Kraft Dinner and the soap dish that I think started life as a cat's food bowl have served me well, but maybe I warrant one or two nice things to show for 32 years on the planet.
So I browse the aisles at Homewerx and fetishize all the fancy kitchen tchotchkes and gewgaws. You ever wonder what a $300 trash can looks like? I'll tell you, it looks fucking awesome. And I'm convinced nothing tastes as good as the idea of a eatlng food off of a $75 dinner plate feels. Sure, it's ostentatious and pretentious and the little voice in my head screaming "WHO ARE YOU TO PUT ON THESE AIRS???" usually prevents me from actually spending any money there, but every once in a blue moon I manage to find some small token object that I can justify. Just a little piece of the good life to temporarily distract myself from the crippling self-esteem issues that plague me every waking moment of the god damn day. Sure, I'm a balding, overweight nerd with a drinking problem but have you seen my Peugeot pepper grinder? That shit cost like $50! Yeah, I'm divorced and approaching middle age like a runaway freight train full of nitroglycerin, but check out how shiny and well designed my Bodum cutlery is! Ignore that man behind the curtain!
It's a pick-me-up okay? I go to Homewerx and I always find some perfect little THING to make myself feel good for a scant few minutes. The staff are always super nice and make me feel like maybe I fucking deserve to be there, even if I secretly suspect that I don't. I go and I buy a little totem to ward off the crushing weight of my own neuroses and for a few moments I get to be at peace. Who are you to judge me for that? To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, we're all in the gutter, but some of us are gazing longingly through the window into Homewerx. -

Really cool, European house and Brazilian beets play overhead while you shop for things that you never know you needed.I can't help but go and spend hours in this store. It carries Vincent Lam for women, I know! And it has a huge selection of ambient music from around the world. Everything from chocolate making kits to soaps, cards, t-shorts, wine accessories, candles, bathroom and eco-friendly paper products to kitchen cutting boards and the latest in home entertaining, you can find it all. If you go during the holidays, they have the best hot chocolate kits and prettiest Christmas decorations.

Homewerx is beautiful. The selection of products here is so well chosen and refined that one need not go anywhere else. Simply put it is ultimately urbane for the discerning urbanite. Keep it up!!

Finally, a truly stylish home decor store in Vancouver. Perfect place to pick up unique and trendy gifts. I especially like the newly remodeled store which makes the products look even more beautiful. I always pop in to the store to see what new things they've brought in and really like all the kitchen gadgets and the Vera Wang dishware is beautiful.

This store calls itself the modern lifestyle store, and it is that, but unlike so many modern decor stores Homewerx is decor with style and with soul. It has a great selection of items for all the rooms of your home: lovely colourful dishes, bowls made from wood au naturel, adorable bathroom accessories, and they carry a line of dining ware from Vera Wang. Ooh la la! What this store does right is mix modern (i.e. clean lines and spare details) with playful and colourful. In other words, you will not find yourself in a monochrome abyss in this store; instead you will be treated to sweet details like ceramic-type birds to perch on your tables, and placemats in surprising colours like spring green and pale pink. Homewerx also carries a cute line of t-shirts, funky pillows in animal shapes, and they have a tasteful selection of gift cards. Even if you have nothing on your "must-have" list, you'll find something to fall for here.
